Kensington Palace have released a new photo of William and the children to mark his 42nd birthday. The photo was taken by Catherine.

Honestly I think this is one of my favourite photos of the family!

Does this go for the extremely odd and over-the-top fawners too or is just for anyone who dares not to love the photo more than anything else in the whole universe?

Not that old fawning trope 🥱, change the record it’s so predictable.

I take it the night shift has arrived ?

No, we're still on 6pm shift, one of whom appears to have gone for a long tea break.

Don't be so disingenuous.

You're resorting to a meaningless remark because there's nothing in my post to justify your comment.

I've said nothing different from what MrsDanvers said about why she isn't a fan of Disneyland, but you've singled out my post because you disagree with other, unrelated, things I've said.

A happy family having a nice time, obviously.

I expect my family is happier and has a nicer time

How utterly pathetic.

I bet your kids' dad is bigger than their dad, as well.

You must be a bundle of laughs in a night out !

According to Google, 68% of UK residents have never been to a Disney park. Do you think only 32% of people in the UK are a bundle of laughs on a night out?

The other one is doing sterling work boring the arse off everyone.

Wtf? By what standards of comparison are you making this grandiose claim? A photo? It’s really getting ridiculous how some are managing to extrapolate millions of layers of meaning from a single photo. Mostly gloomy interpretations and sour pussery as well. And you have only appeared since the photo of William looking happy with his children has been published

I bet you have bigger dunes and looser shorts, too.

Based on that I have a very happy family and we have lots of nice times, and have 100s x the freedom that this family have.

I would hate their lives. I am not "jealous" in the slightest. Saying I hate that photo does not mean I am jealous. It means I hate the photo

Extrapolating from your posts, I'd hazard a guess not.

Your post is dripping in superiority and I am not the only one who has noticed. I won't be taking responsibility for your lack of self-awareness.

This poster is hilariously pompous. I wonder if they have any idea quite how they come across?

I would hazard a guess that the 68% aren't dissing something they haven't experienced, there's the difference.

If they had been sitting stiffly in a row wearing 1930s type children's clothes, it would also not be the right way to treat them, why couldn't they be out on a beach enjoying themselves and jumping around, etc, etc.

Can't win with some, can she, Catherine.

She’s probably sitting at home with a Friday night curry having a good laugh about the comments about posing and hours of “performance” that went into it because she knows it took her all of five minutes to set up and snap the shot.

Nah, don't think so. The photo doesn't suggest miserable carpers. Unlike some of the commenters on this thread.

You hate it?

That's quite a strong reaction to an inoffensive photo, surely? Why not just ignore it? It has no impact on your life and nobody in the photo knows or cares that you exist.

Someone who "hates" an innocent photo of a young family with the ferocity you clearly do, is not a happy person.

You have no idea how happy they are. Their lives are very different but that doesn’t at all mean that they are unhappy. Happy people are usually those who make the best of whatever situation they find themselves in and don’t compare themselves to others. And don’t engage in bizarre happiness one upmanship
