Inspired by @Ladypenelopeforever ‘s post.

I find that William is photogenic and this is one of the best photos (albeit not candid) of him in a while.

What do you see? For me, I see humour about his lips and the faraway look in his eyes has a touch of sadness. Overall, the Prince has gravitas, he does not need the red folder to signal that. There is also a reddish blush to his skin. Either he caught the sun during the D Day commemoration or he is blushing for some reason

Let us see if we can keep comments positive, friendly and on topic this time. One can hope. 🙏

Let's apply the same " thought processes " and I use that term very loosely to this photo then?

Yes but surely you should be more aggrieved with the nepotism from celebrity culture, they are literally taking opportunities away from people with actual talent and abilities, people who actually should have a chance of winning the part in a film or whatever, that is not the case with a constitutional monarchy they are not actually denying anyone anything, where as the nepo kids are doing exactly that, taking opportunities from talented people who have no celebrity family connections.

Ah! Well-reasoned !

@CoffeeCantata "But I have a question for all these unusually angry 'people': what exactly (not vaguely) is your problem with privilege?"

I'm not remotely angry. My problem with privilege is an objection to people having positions of wealth, power and influence without doing anything to earn them or showing any particular talent or aptitude.

So in other words, you’re jealous 🙄 Ps, how do you know he doesn’t have any talent or aptitude?

I think there’s a lot of jealousy in these threads - as I posted above.

I think Charles has talent.

Not sure yet re Willlism. I find the whole MH stuff a bit unconvincing. I think that egg has been scrambled to the point it’s going rubbery.

It makes me want to scream as if I'm in the Sistine Chapel.

That’s a middle-aged photocopier salesman meditating sadly on last quarter’s overly optimistic targets and how he didn’t in fact get another knee-trembler in the stationery store from Viv in Accounts on his last appearance at the Preston office.

CoffeeCantata · 13/06/2024 18:38

He would look better if he shaved the sides down (and yes, I know he shouldn't have to yadda yadda yadda, but along the same lines I dye my hair because it looks shit and ageing when it's grey so there we go, I'm shallow as a puddle and I'm past caring tbh).

And saying he'd look better if he shaved the sides down is a million miles away from the crude, childish insults some people have written. That's the difference between being critical - and constructively critical - and being downright rude and obnoxious. I've got no problem with a simple criticism that's fair (ie, about something within his power to change).

I think Harry would look better if he owned his trichological issues and did a William, personally. And although I don't like him I don't say that out of spite. I'm not sure if he's had transplants - but if he has, I think it was the wrong decision! William's look is not trying to fool anyone and luckily for him, he's got a strong bone structure which means he'll always be handsome.

I think Harry was very good-looking when young, but I think now he has taken after his father more and frankly, for my money, he's not winning the beauty competition. Harry is much more jowly than William. Oh - and I like KC, by the way, but even his biggest fans wouldn't try to claim he's classically handsome.

DevonshireDumpling38 · 13/06/2024 18:39

William looks more like Price Phillip.
Harry very much like the King, just with red hair.
The King very much like his maternal grandmother.
I believe this is called genetics.

@Hedgeoffressian "So in other words, you’re jealous 🙄 Ps, how do you know he doesn’t have any talent or aptitude"

Such a weird take, that jealous accusation!

I have no idea what aptitudes and talents you need to be King, or any member of the RF. Meeting people is definitely a talent and some of them are good at that. But I wasn't only talking about the RF, I was talking about the privilege that strangles our society generally.

CurlewKate · 13/06/2024 18:44

Incidentally, for those of us old enough to remember, there was about 10 minutes when William was very good looking. Blink and you would have missed it, though.

I completely agree. Now that's what I call unearned privilege! And the media are one of the worst offenders. God, the number of children of 'celebrities' or media folk who just get taken on because of their connections.

I heard an actor defending the nepotistic way she got her first break and she said 'Oh yes, it opens doors for you but then you've got to prove you can do the job!'. Well, yes - that's just the problem. Many people would be able to do the job - it's having the door opened that is the incalculably great privilege!

I don't know why - but the RF just don't wind me up in the way they do some people. I wouldn't like their jobs and I like having them around. I particularly like the horses and marching bands.

5128gap · 13/06/2024 18:49

He looks like Diana but without the benefit of hair, make up and dresses to elevate his looks from the bog standard to the slightly above average. He looks inoffensive, pleasant enough, but weak in a never done a day's hard graft, soft handed zero ability to look after himself kind of way. I see no gravitas. He does look sad around the eyes though, and would look better with his head shaved.

SmudgeButt · 13/06/2024 18:50

He's a rich bloke being photographed by someone who knows how to impress people. Nowt more than that.

Agree. If I look at the cover of Spare (which I don't enjoy doing) I see KC with a ginger frizz. Am I alone in this?

Both boys have inherited their height from Diana, but Harry is more the Windsor, definitely. Clearly Harry's colouring is pure Spencer, though.

PylaSheight · 13/06/2024 18:52

It's a nice photo but his poor PR team had a lot of photoshopping to do. I mean, look at the original! (from Total Titter on X 😂) 😉

@Forfuckssaketheearthisnotflat start a thread about nepo babies and I'll join in. This one is about the royal family.

And I commented about the royal family but you have chosen to dodge my point.

Ah ooh getting to see what the inside of a 1st class carriage looks like!

Dibbydoos · 13/06/2024 18:57

Much prefer Harry's real humour in his eyes! Sorry but William is know to have a bad temper and I can see it in this picture in the flush...

Awful how such a big responsibility placed on a young person ages them so fast.

ILikeDinosaurs · 13/06/2024 19:00

Looks like a pompous twat in a suit trying to look important.

Not sure. Have you seen photos of Charles doe vet as a boy? It’s a little Harry. Bit chubbier but a definite likeness.

Looks like a poor man's Phil Spencer.

He was so handsome when young. I'm afraid I don't find him handsome anymore. Not just physically either.

It's that huge dome head, I think. Some men really rock baldness, but sadly not William.

I presume he's just not that bothered about losing his hair - after all, both he and Kate have joked about it in public.
I find that attitude far more attractive than trying out hair plugs and/or drugs which may or may not work.
For the PP who was wondering about first class on the train, it's not that special. I used to occasionally take my DDs on 1st for a shopping trip and they used to get excited about the free snacks and 1st class lounge. But they were little girls then and easily impressed.
I'm sure nobody would mind if you pressed your nose to the window to have a gander Smile

To be fair I still get excited about free snacks and I’m in my 60’s.
Does that mean I am in touch with my inner child or just a greedy pig?
