@deeahgwitch here is a photo with the bride’s sister in blue. The woman in the lilac dress was the dress designer. I think they all looked lovely and it looked like a happy day. Hope they’re not all too hung over today, wonder what the reception was like. Would love to see what these kind of people are like after they’ve had a few!

No that blue dress is too low cut for a cathedral wedding.

deeahgwitch · 08/06/2024 11:11

Thank you @ShillyShallySherbet 💐

This is why it’s so difficult to wear a nice dress when you have larger breasts, high neck looks awful but anything that shows a bit of cleavage is too low cut. You can’t win.

ThePoshUns · 08/06/2024 11:33

Yes it's no lower cut than the other ladies in the photo.

"Her dress was beautiful the only thing I'm not convinced on was the bridesmaids shoes they looked like school shoes, a bit clumpy for an otherwise delicate theme"
I thought the dress was lovely; I liked her hair, veil, and tiara, etc.
However, I did not like either hers of bridesmaid's shoes.
I understand the quirky idea of using the something blue, but think white shoes, with maybe a blue bow, or similar, would have been better.

MaggieFS · 08/06/2024 11:38

It is really hard when you have larger breasts, but look at the dress purple dress just behind her, also a v neck, but not cut as low.

KatyaKabanova · 08/06/2024 11:56

I think you need to pay attention to fit, have a deep v neck but wear something light underneath.

LINDAHOAD · 08/06/2024 12:06

the bridesmaid dresses are awful and those heavy clunky shoes

KatyaKabanova · 08/06/2024 12:08

The shoes don't look heavy and clunky, I think they're navy velvet.

LINDAHOAD · 08/06/2024 12:09

yes is not aging well

Wickedlywearynamechanged · 08/06/2024 12:10

I liked the bridesmaid dresses, and their shoes were navy velvet apparently. I liked the shoes too.

I loved that the bride wore blue velvet shoes. They were a fun touch, I thought.

LINDAHOAD · 08/06/2024 12:11

yes some green fake grass over the wood would have been better

MerryChristmasToYou · 08/06/2024 12:13

Not RTFT. Society weddings are often on a weekday.
She looked lovely. She didn't look older than her age. Shoes were awful.

He looked his usual gorgeous self. He has inherited his mother's looks.
His mother and sister looked terrific and tastefully co-ordinating.

Chester Cathedral made me feel homesick.

BeaRF75 · 08/06/2024 12:14

She looks lovely. Elegant, tasteful dress and veil for church..... no tacky bare shoulders, thank goodness.
The blue shoes are rather funky.
Most of all she just looks like a normal, healthy, happy young woman - no Botox, fake tan, hideous eyebrows etc. Yes, they have wealth, but the Grosvenors are known to be fairly understated and very well respected in the North West.

spanieleyes · 08/06/2024 12:17

And they provided free ice cream for people in Chester!

This.

We're too accustomed to touched up IG images.

Sorry, the blue shoes weren't awful, just a bit unexpected.

I thought Gerald Grosvenor seemed like a lovely man, then I read that he'd been sleeping with hookers. It's funny how that destroys some men's public images but it never damaged his. I don't think really nice men sleep with prostitutes behind their wives' back.

She looked great.

thought the just stop oil protestors were a disgrace.

I was terrified.that orange muck would land on her gown. To stage that protest someones wedding! And the old witches were SO self righteous about how 'the cause' and the Duke's wealth justify trying to ruin a young woman's wedding. Disgracefu

FormerlyPathologicallyHappy · 08/06/2024 12:40

Ruining anyone’s wedding is unforgivable. Just stop oil just make massive twats out of themselves constantly.

Its like a meeting place for weirdos.

MerryChristmasToYou · 08/06/2024 12:42

@Honestlyy , I read that too and was shocked. It seemed out-of-character.
Then again, I read Lady Glenconner's memoir and that was quite shocking.l

BigWillyLittleTodger · 08/06/2024 12:43

I was hoping for a big royal turn out, was expecting to see the Tindalls, Beatrice and Edo at the very least, but we only got William and Eugenie, no Jack that I could see either, the King and Queen were rumoured to be invited but didn’t go so it all looked a bit flat to me. Nice dress, awful shoes and the bridesmaids shoes were hideous, looked like old school plimsolls from a distance, overall I was underwhelmed considering it was billed as the wedding of the year.

It is, isn't it? I'd like to see them protest outside the oil companies but I don't suppose they've got the nerve.

I’ve just posted a comment but it’s been immediately blocked without being posted! I’ve said nothing bad at all! Why do mumsnet need to look at it?? @mnhq
