maybe if you're inviting a high profile guest (William) you have to bend to their schedule.

LocalHobo · 07/06/2024 21:17

She looks a lot older than 31 so I'm guessing she's tired/dehydrated
I think she is just super thin. Always aging, but seemingly desirable for this demographic.

I'm a lot older than 31, and I don't think she does at all. I think rather unusually now in the UK for that age group she hasn't has ridiculous work done on eyebrows, eye lashes, face cheeks, teeth, fake tan etc. She's a lovely looking woman who has had to share her special day with a far wider audience than most of us. That would stress me to bits and that is aging!

An understated, natural looking bride. Beautifully elegant.

A delightful change from those who are constantly arguing with nature and battling it with fillers and botox and make up that belongs on the stage.

LilacK · 07/06/2024 21:19

Lovely dress. Not sure about the shoes - looks like she's forgotten to put her shoes on and come out in her gran's slippers.

Good point - hadn’t even occurred to me!

SwayingInTime · 07/06/2024 21:25

She looks very beautiful and the dress and veil are gorgeous but the number she did on her poor maid of honour! Frumpy length, fabric, necline and shoes, dear lord!

tarheelbaby · 07/06/2024 21:42

Beautiful wedding. This is the right thread for it. People who like/follow the RF will be the main commenters.
Love the simple, modest dress: defo a better one than some others but the lace looks a bit cheap (Gosford Park ... ) and the matchy-matchy of the lace on her veil and her dress doesn't work for me. I was hoping for a heirloom veil with a simple dress. The RF wedding dress I have liked best is Autumn Kelly's. (Pros and cons of other RF wedding dresses requires a separate thread 😎)
I thought she had a good hairstyle to work with the tiara. If you know tiaras (and many on this thread do), you'll know they are not as easy/fun as they look. (Remember all those articles about practising with Kate's tiara)
I agree that for 31 she does look old but HD is unforgiving and the price for staying slim (for some women) is serious wrinkles (look up Courtney Cox for more explanation). Plus, some British women have a type of skin which just crumbles.
Maybe Friday is to fit them in vs. the other weddings. Also, weekends are likely not a consideration for them or most of their guests (PoW just back from major event in France) so perhaps an easier day for everyone, perhaps chosen to accommodate a range of guests? Perhaps they were hoping Chester would be less busy on a Friday?
I wish them all the very best!

MaggieFS · 07/06/2024 21:50

I really like the dress, and I love how natural she looks. Very refreshing. I agree her hair from the front was quite severe, but if you see the back from the back or side with the veil up, it's been gorgeously styled.

Really unimpressed with the bridesmaid's dresses, and their shoes were terrible.

It caused a fair amount of disruption within Chester, presumably a Friday was better for businesses (less disruptive to their busiest day?). The Prince of Wales got married on a Friday...

That was the designer of her dress, not maid of honour

I think she looks so tired, must have been hard work putting the wedding together

Lovely dress and veil

Yes! How are her under eyes so lined at 31? 31 is still so young.

Vespanest · 07/06/2024 21:12

We watch women on tv full of Botox and fillers and ask why are they doing that whilst simultaneously zooming in and questioning a woman’s age and how tired she looks.

I don't think most 31years olds are that wrinkly and most 31 year olds haven't had Botox and filler even if people think they do. The vast majority of people leave their faces alone.
31 is really young and skin is generally radiant and smooth with very few if any age lines.

I agree, she looks natural, not plumped up and plastic. We're so used to the fake look now.

Does this make you feel better scrutinising a woman’s face on her wedding day.

ThePoshUns · 07/06/2024 22:07

I like the dress. The tiara is faberge. She looks lovely

Super thin? She looks a very normal and healthy size to me.

I loved the dress, agree the bride’s hairstyle was a bit severe but it was a windy day, a looser wispier style would have looked an absolute mess. The billowing veil was very dramatic.

KatyaKabanova · 07/06/2024 22:17

Also, you can't tell if someone is supposedly "dehydrated"!

BeaFuddled · 07/06/2024 22:18

Jesus wept! Some of the comments from @LaurieFairyCake and others. Criticising a young woman's perfectly normal face. Fine to scrutinise the dress etc but unpleasant to say how old, drawn and wrinkled you think she looks.

Anyway, she's just married a billionaire so doubt she'll give a toss what you think.

She looks fine 🙄

Eyesopenwideawake · 07/06/2024 22:27

The first thing that caught my eye was the heavy make up - very cakey and didn't suit her delicate face.

Agree. Feminine, flattering, adult. Both fussy.

Far better than Pippa's, the York girls, Meghan and frankly even Kate.

The tiara and veil were spectacular, and the breeze actually enhanced the drama.

Wonder what her evening dress is like.

I am in my 30s as well and have fine lines when dehydrated and forgotten to moisturise. So, she looks like my skin on a rough day.

Maybe she ran out of time for skincare/facial/water?

The tight hairstyle isnt very flattering either, it does make her forehead very prominent and bumpy looking.

Im sure she doesn’t need to care about any of this though, being married to a billionaire!

Was that not the dress designer making sure the dress and train were flowing correctly?

Passiflora2 · 07/06/2024 22:33

Stunning dress and veil. Agree about the flowers and how happy they both look! I love the idea of blue shoes but don’t think those work with the dress. Bridesmaids look awful and hated their shoes.
I too found it so
refreshing that she looks so natural and just happy, not fake and overly painted and plumped.

The bridesmaids shoes were awful and her mother's ensemble was pretty grim. All that money & she wears what looked like a purple dressing gown? And white shoes?
