Stunning dress, one of the nicest wedding dresses I have seen. I liked the blue shoes and the flower bouquet was beautiful. Not as keen on the hair and make-up, but she looked happy.

AnnunciataM · 08/06/2024 08:42

The duke/groom looks like Owen Jones.

Sorry to say this but goodness that was one frumpy overhyped wedding . None dressed well.

I don’t disagree, aristocratic weddings (royal ones aside) often are. I was underwhelmed by the dress but the new duchess looked very happy and who wouldn’t be to marry a Grosvenor??

Nopet · 08/06/2024 08:52

I thought Olivia looked stunning. Beautiful dress and veil, shoes quirky .
Lovely to see someone looking naturally gorgeous without all the botox/ eyebrow carnage!

When someone shows you just exactly who/what they are - believe them.

Just don’t feed them.

SallyWD · 08/06/2024 09:20

Am I the only person who's never heard of these two? Suddenly their wedding is all over the news and there are crowds of people lining the street but I've no idea who they are.

ThePoshUns · 08/06/2024 09:20

I liked the groom's sister's floral dress. Tamara I believe.
It has been a nice distraction looking at the outfits and seeing how the other half live!

Yes, I agree. A natural look is so refreshing.

Harsh. Although maybe I find OJ ugly due to his misogyny. I don’t think the duke’s bad looking!

Throwawayagain1234 · 08/06/2024 09:31

I stayed in the same hotel as some of the guests on Thursday night/Friday morning (Holiday inn express sadly not The Grosvenor which was fully booked out by the duke!) and there were literally coach loads of beautiful, slim young women in bright form fitting silk and HIGH heels. Men in morning suits too but the beautiful (did I mention SLIM) young women were so gorgeous it was hard to see them. For some reason I have wanted to use the word 'fillies' ever since.

She looks very beautiful and the dress and veil are gorgeous but the number she did on her poor maid of honour! Frumpy length, fabric, necline and shoes, dear lord!

I think that was a friend helping, not a MoH

High society usually (K&W not obvs) has children not adults for BMs

Yes you are and what’s the point of this comment? I have never heard of most reality tv stars but don’t go on forums saying “who are these people”

I've no idea why people do this.

If only there were something that could provide the information

I think she looks so tired, must have been hard work putting the wedding together

She looks a lot older than 31 so I'm guessing she's tired/dehydrated

Lovely dress and veil

Post a pic of you and let’s all critique you. Women should not be critical of other women’s’ looks.

doeeyedstan · 08/06/2024 10:00

The family seem very well respected and even loved by their neighbours and community. That is so lovely to hear. I wish the couple every happiness

In the time it took you to post this you could have googled them.

spanieleyes · 08/06/2024 10:05

The only reason the wedding is so high profile ( well, apart from the fact that he is one of the wealthiest men in the UK!) is because of the links with the William/Harry fall out. Otherwise, it would have been a photo shoot in Tatler and that would have been it!

SwayingInTime · 08/06/2024 10:07

Itsraininman · 07/06/2024 21:51

That was the designer of her dress, not maid of honour

That makes so much more sense!

If you aren't typically interested in high society/titled people or don't mix with any of them through work or social like then no, there would be little reason to have heard of them.
I only had some awareness because someone know knows them and mentioned the wedding so then I naturally noticed articles about them in the lead up. Otherwise like you, I doubt I would have had a clue.

I think some people find historic families/royalty etc really interesting. I'm a bit of a Republican so I'm not overly invested. But once it's flagged up, you tend to spot articles and mentions. Like when you are trying to get pregnant and all you see are pregnant women!

There have been articles in many major publications over the past few months.

I'm not being superior! I was genuinely surprised they seem so famous (crowds in the street etc) and I hadn't heard of them - especially as I'm someone who spends a lot of time surfing the net! 😅
However, now I've seen he's the Duke of Westminster, yes I have heard of him. Just never knew he was called Hugh Grosvenor so I didn't click.

deeahgwitch · 08/06/2024 10:31

I thought the dress and veil were beautiful.

The deep blue / navy velvet shoes matched the trim on the bridesmaids dresses and matched their velvet shoes but the shoes were too clumpy and the contrast between the colours was too harsh. Softer colour shoes and piping would have been nicer but perhaps that deep blue/ navy is a family crest colour or something.

The make up and hair could have been softer too.

The flowers were beautiful.

I thought the groom's mother's outfit was lovely.

I would have liked to have seen what the bride's sister wore.
Perhaps she was the woman in the lilac dress and white shoes and not the dress designer as I previously thought ?

I wasn't keen on Eugenie's outfit - neither the style or colour were to my taste.

I love seeing the fashion/style of these weddings.

ThePoshUns · 08/06/2024 10:42

Yes Eugenie's dress was a bit too clingy for daytime.

Her dress was gorgeous. Flowers amazing.

Blue shoes not good. Hair too severe. I don’t know why brides do this. She’d have looked lovely with looser hair.

But look how her hair reveals her perfect bone structure. She is so lovely.

I think the family’s ancestral home is in Chester so I guess they are very well known locally.
plus people were also there to see Prince William I assume. I would go and watch outfits if there was a posh wedding in my home town.
