yes some green fake grass over the wood would have been better

It’s not wood. It’s a carpet

@BigWillyLittleTodger , it happens.

I’ve just posted a comment but it’s been immediately blocked without being posted! I’ve said nothing bad at all! Why do mumsnet need to look at it?? @mnhq

It might accidentally have a link to something or a trigger word for ads

MerryChristmasToYou · 08/06/2024 12:49

Fake grass!? FFS. As if.

PigglyWigglyOhYeah · 08/06/2024 12:50

She looked beautiful. I hope they had a lovely day.

BigWillyLittleTodger · 08/06/2024 12:57

My comment was that I was disappointed that the Tindalls, Beatrice and Edo and the King and Queen didn’t attend and that I liked the dress but not the shoes or the bridesmaids shoes!

Thanks @smilesy, no links attached, just disappointed that there wasn’t more of a royal turn out and that I liked the dress but not the shoes! It was all very innocuous!

MerryChristmasToYou · 08/06/2024 13:01

@BigWillyLittleTodger , KC (a godfather) and QC had a hectic schedule this week and KC has been told to take things a bit easier. There was no reason for PB and Edo or the Tindalls to be there. PW (father of a godson) was there.

TheFirmBiscuit · 08/06/2024 13:06

My fawn doth fawneth over.

BigWillyLittleTodger · 08/06/2024 13:07

@MerryChristmasToYou I don’t know the relationships between the Grosvenors and the various members of the RF, just expressing my disappointment they were not in attendance as it was billed as the high society wedding of the year I thought there would be a fair few of them there.

I think they made up something about the election they don't do stuff unless they want to.

SuuzeeeQ · 08/06/2024 13:12

Agree I was expecting Prince George (Hugh is his godfather) and KC (Hugh’s godfather and he attended his sister’s wedding)

jeffgoldblum · 08/06/2024 13:16

Perhaps they didn't want to distract attention from the bride and groom?

KatyaKabanova · 08/06/2024 13:19

If Prince George had gone, it would definitely have been a distraction.

Apparently it was a “sustainable brown carpet”. As opposed to a red carpet. Not plywood

Oh, I didn’t realise there was carpet on the top. You can’t see it unless you zoom in super close, as it’s the same colour as the wooden boarding visible underneath. So it still looks just like a plywood walkway and I’m still confused why they chose it.

Yes indeed looked very ugly (the wooden bits not thr colour of the carpet)

SuuzeeeQ · 08/06/2024 13:41

On Instagram a wedding planner commented that this would normally be covered up. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I would imagine it is something to do with the bride’s ecological ideals. She works for an ethical food company

queenofarles · 08/06/2024 13:53

Lovely to see someone looking naturally gorgeous without all the botox/ eyebrow carnage!

I keep reading comments like this , i find it strange , the bride is beautiful yes but how could anyone tell she didn’t have any Botox? Or anything similar ?
a top doctor won’t give you Spock eyebrows, or frozen expression.

MerryChristmasToYou · 08/06/2024 13:57

@BigWillyLittleTodger , there is no connection with the Tindalls or AFAIK Princess B & Edo.
@SuuzeeeQ There weren't many children there. Only nieces and nephews.

I think that PW/PC attend weddings alone to avoid having focus taken away from the bride & groom.

KatyaKabanova · 08/06/2024 14:03

Yes, they don't like to make it all about them, so would stay away rather than distract from an event.

ArcaneWireless · 08/06/2024 14:03

I like to see fawnyness fawnething ower.

Beats seeing the usual poisonous shite spillingeth over hands down.

Howdy Ho.

Yes, and people who say they “always” notice Botox or fillers on others usually mean they’ve noticed it when it’s been obvious and not well done. Olivia may be untouched by an injector or she may not - if it’s a good doctor then you just wouldn’t be able to tell!

Rishi Sunak could have done, given his leaving the D Day commemorations in France earlier.

Could have done what? Worn navy shoes?
