Well, I'm not going to go into an argument about Olivia looking "dehydrated".
You cannot analyse her skin from these photos.

KatyaKabanova · 07/06/2024 22:39

"she ran out of time for water" 😂

GirlOverboard123 · 07/06/2024 22:53

I was so confused by that ugly plywood walkway they laid outside the cathedral. It’s a real eyesore in all the photos. They could at least have put some carpet on top, but it’s a very level surface and there really was no need for a walkway at all.

That’s my only complaint though, I liked everything else.

thisiswheretheseagullfliesaway · 07/06/2024 23:01

Her dress was beautiful the only thing I'm not convinced on was the bridesmaids shoes they looked like school shoes, a bit clumpy for an otherwise delicate theme.

Wimbledonmum1985 · 07/06/2024 23:04

She’s just a gorgeous woman and, billions of pounds or not, Hugh and family are truly decent people. His father was an absolute gentleman and I believe is very sorely missed.

Apparently it was a “sustainable brown carpet”. As opposed to a red carpet. Not plywood

I think she looks so tired, must have been hard work putting the wedding together

She looks a lot older than 31 so I'm guessing she's tired/dehydrated

Lovely dress and veil

I take it from this that you’re an absolute stunner yourself? Nasty.

BettyBardMacDonald · 07/06/2024 22:34

The bridesmaids shoes were awful and her mother's ensemble was pretty grim. All that money & she wears what looked like a purple dressing gown? And white shoes?

That’s not her mother arranging the dress. It’s the dress designer

Strawberriesaregoingoff · 07/06/2024 23:14

She looks beautiful! Bridesmaids shoes are far too clumpy though. Love the dress and veil is gorgeous!

How people can be so nasty about her skin I've no idea, would love to look like her! Bet the spiteful posters resemble Shrek's missus on a bad day ...

AnotherDayOfSun · 07/06/2024 23:36

Beautiful, elegant look. In other pictures too, she has a fresh, natural, low-key look which is so refreshing in our day and age. Not crazy about the shoes, but thought the look as a whole was lovely. I'm sure they will be quite relieved to have my approval!

DingDingaling · 07/06/2024 23:39

I loved the hair piece. The ‘tiara’ style seems quite popular with some of the aristocratic women these days:

They all wear tiaras on state and major occasions. That's why the Grosvenors had one for Olivia to wear. That is why the Spencers had one for Diana. There was a whole thread on tiaras last year.

I think Olivia looks lovely and happy. Her tiara and flowers are from her husband's family. The lace on her veil is from her family. I suspect that there was a story behind the shoes, other than their color. Everything was chosen for its meaning, not just for aesthetics.

The bridesmaids' shoes looked very comfortable. I don't know how active the reception was, but black shoes show much less wear for children. Those girls may have been on their feet for much of the day.

It's nice seeing a happy wedding. I wish them all the best.

LaurieFairyCake · 08/06/2024 06:41

I didn't say she looks 'old, drawn and wrinkled' Hmm

I said she looked tired and dehydrated

One is rude and judgemental - the other, descriptive

KatyaKabanova · 08/06/2024 06:43

Oh stop it with the nonsense about "dehydration".

FormerlyPathologicallyHappy · 08/06/2024 06:46

@QueenOfWeeds The aristocracy don’t do weekend weddings like the working class do, they don’t need to.

Its not cost cutting on the day it’s a flex that they don’t have normal jobs with annual leave allowances.

Kinneddar · 08/06/2024 06:49

socialdilemmawhattodo · 07/06/2024 21:10

I know that. But it is still high profile and the dress would always be scrutinised. There is is much fake praise around these wedding dresses.

So for example - Diana's dress utterly crumpled. Kate's dress - madonna's cone tit profile. etc.

This was a lovely dress by comparison to those. Why did you comment?

Because it's a public forum & I'm as entitled to as you. Simple.

I don’t think this is purple. But yes the shoes are awful. https://www.tatler.com/article/who-are-the-hensons-olivia-henson-family

generally I don’t think UK aristos dress that well (runs for cover), but two of Hugh’s sisters looked great.

didn’t like the bride’s shoes and thought it was an overall underwhelming look. The Faberge family tiara was beautiful of course.

I liked the dress. Women of this high social standing will have another dress for the reception.

KatyaKabanova · 08/06/2024 07:24

Look at those cobbles. I fear for women in high heels when I see that kind of terrain.

It’s a family tiara (Grosvenor family)

The sister of the bride (I assume this is her sister) also wore white shoes…

I was lying in bed last night thinking a couple of things.

what does a duchess do all day? Is it walking the labs, having a horse ride and telling the cook what to prepare for dinner?

secondly, while I hope they are blessed with lots of children what happens if they don’t have a boy? Who would inherit the dukedom? He has an older sister who has boys (think they’re Dan Snows kids), eldest of those get it? Or would that be a no as it would have gone through a woman (their mother). I. Which case would it be a male cousin (if there is one).? Assuming he doesn’t have a younger brother …..not sure if he does.

edited - I found the answer to my second question, some distant relative would currently get the dukedom, not sure how they’re related though. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Francis_Grosvenor,_8th_Earl_of_Wilton

He doesn’t have a younger brother. I assume they will try until they have a boy like his parents did or have gender selection.

he has a Foundation, she will probably do some charity work? Apparently they will move to Chester but they also have business etc in London so assume her life will be filled with social events, parties, travel, a bit of charity work…similar to Beatrice and Eugenie…
I read she quit her job a little while ago.
