The royal family

Why do Harry and Meghan tell porkies that are so easy to prove wrong?

Starting with the porkie that Archie wasn’t gonna be titled. Anyone who understands the Letters Patent would know that as long as the Queen was alive this was never gonna happen. I said this when watching the Oprah interview and I’m pretty appalled they told such an easily provable lie.

Then Harry said that daddy cut his security off. Anyone who knows about RAVEC knows it is independent of the Royal Family and Charles couldn’t do this if he tried. Same with “Only titled people get security” / this was so easy to prove wrong.

And why are there 2 versions of the proposal story. Did they think we wouldn’t notice? Is one a Hollywood version for their American audience?

The same with the ‘how they met’ story - in their engagement interview they said it was a blind date, to Netflix they met on Instagram.

I also was puzzled at her saying she never wore bright colours and that royal women could never wear the same colour as the Queen. It’s just nonsense. See below pictures.

Why do they do this? My theory is that everything they do now is for an American audience who are used to the reality TV narrative of “Some scenes have been created for entertainment” style TV and just accept their narrative as partly fictional, as long as it’s entertaining?

Why do Harry and Meghan tell porkies that are so easy to prove wrong?

You mean envy.

Jealously is the emotion of wanting to own the person you are fond of, often to the level of pathological suspicion and possessiveness. You are of course correct that beauty has caused , or rather provoked , jealously, Harry could be jealous of Meghan if she danced with someone else, fo example. Sibling jealousy is well known.

No one on this thread can be jealous of Meghan, because we have no personal relationship with her which is being threatened.

Really? You think it’s believable that an infant can enunciate the three syllable word ‘crocodile’ which is pretty sophisticated pronunciation for very small children, especially the ‘cr’ which would come out as ‘cw’ for the vast majority. I have a very bright toddler who was an early talker myself but come on. I don’t count the first word as one that the parents know what the child is trying to say, I count it as a clear and obvious pronunciation that others could hear and understand too.

Yes I do think it was a lie, just a random boast probably, but I’m also going to remember this is Mumsnet so I’m waiting for someone to post that their child’s first word was ‘conservatory’ or ‘restaurant’ or something like that.

YOU consider it to be the first word clearly enunciated but many people will consider it the first word with clear meaning and approximate sounding. So pointing to the toothy green toy and squealing "Cocka-die!! Cocka die!!" My child has a speech impediment so can't say many words properly. by your logic i can't claim he can say those words even though its obvious what he's saying

These threads always become boring discussions about why we want to discuss H&M.

It spoils the fun of just the gossip and speculation.

Can't we ignore the derailing accustaions and just talk about what we think about H&M?
No need to defend oursleves.

Gossip is legal, normal and part of being a celeb.

I don’t think anyone on here envies her either. What’s to envy, except maybe the ability to have money thrown at her for doing sweet f a to earn it, but that’s not envy of her per se.

What I do know is if I had to choose between M & C as my SiL I’d choose Catherine a million times over.

Do you really believe that @Ellaelle? looking at things objectively it seems hard to understand why you would think that’s true.

Well yes looking at it subjectively they are very blessed, several have tried to destroy them but end up with egg on their faces, they have a lot of people who DO support them, they importantly have the full support and love of each other, he never chucks her under the bus and he's not out there picking Rose's 😉

Here here 👏🏻👏🏻. Let’s not pretend humans don’t enjoy a gossip now and then. No need for any of us to pretend to be too virtuous for such witterings, we’re all strangers here 😁

Lol should have said objectively ^

People forget that Harry has suffered childhood trauma and this often changes the way your brain develops and skews your outlook on the world.

I'm raising a child with developmental trauma. I have fought bloody hard to get him support that Harry can more than afford.

More importantly though my son at 13 understands that his decisions affect others. Having trauma or special needs does not mean you get to lash out.

Personal responsibility does not finish due to trauma.

Most of the people in jail have had worse trauma than Harry. My mom's been in jail rightfully so. We don't excuse behaviour because someone had it rough.

ArnottL · 29/05/2024 14:14

I never thought I would feel sorry for the super-rich aristocrats, but I do. Both brothers fell easy prey to gold-diggers. It is really sad.

Re-hashing unsubstantiated rumours yet again 🙄

LumpiBolleaux · 29/05/2024 14:15

I love mealie mouthed sly digs about the marriages of folk we know nowt about.

But if we are going there, what about discussing surf instructors and bodyguards?

Give it time. The shit will hit the fan one day.

LumpiBolleaux · 29/05/2024 14:18

I don’t think either woman is a gold digger. That could have been said about any woman either brother married.

One is definitely a social climber though. And still climbing every single day.

And why are there 2 versions of the proposal story. Did they think we wouldn’t notice? Is one a Hollywood version for their American audience?

I think this is a big part of it. They are aiming largely at an American audience who don't always have a detailed knowledge of UK history, culture and traditions. They can get away with a lot that way!

If you have a strong enough stomach, have a look on that sewer-pipe site known as Celebitchy. The rubbish spouted on there by the mostly American posters is eye-watering. A lot of their opinions are based on a misunderstanding of British customs. It's very much a Sussex Squad hang-out, and the cultish adoration of H & M and the vicious hatred of the RF (and the British nation) is quite staggering. I think to a large extent they've given up on the UK.

Why would I go on there when there is enough vitriol and bullying on MN? Any more of the same would drive me insane.

Thedom · 29/05/2024 14:19

A few more amusing examples of their stunning hypocrisy and why we can't help but muse about it all..

I love the part where Meghan told the journalist of The Cut that in the UK the schoolrun would be a daily invasion of press, BEFORE TAKING THE JOURNALIST IN HER CAR TO GET ARCHIE FROM KINDERGARTEN.

I loved the bit where they show MM in the Oprah interview and she told us the story of the RF being racist re Archie, and then H came along and told a completely different story. Recollections may vary.

I love the part where Harry says ‘no one knows the full truth’. Of course not because you keep lying🤔

I love that Meghan invited all of her closest family to her wedding and they all crammed into one seat.

I love that Harry welcomed Meghan to his family because she hadn’t had a happy family life like him! But she fixed that.

I love the part where they feature Christopher Bouzy , a notorious cyberboully who is being sued for fraud ,,defamation & harassment ,

I love the part where the paparazzi jump out of the pantry and take two photos of a private and spontaneous kiss that was not staged at all! And how Harry kindly consoled his wife when she was crying by taking photos of her.! Ah such a love story!

I love the part where Harry said he had to protect his family from the media, by talking to the media about EVERYTHING.

Unsubstantiated?? Heheeeheee, if you say so! let's not derail someone asked me a question and I answered, it's a gossip site remember. I'm going to start my own thread about how consort Camille is prepping Rosey.

Josette77 · 29/05/2024 14:21

Meghan is pretty. I'm not jealous of her though. I'm quite happy with my appearance. I've worked with absolutely stunning models before. I enjoy beauty. I think some people are works of art. I don't get jealous of people usually. Definitely not for thier looks. I get time jealous if anything.

I do think it's kind of sad on a discussion based on events and personality people defending her are focusing on her looks.

Is that all women are worth? If Meghan was ugly would this thread be ok?

See I loved this part.

I had, up to that point, thought that OW was an exceptionally shrewd and intelligent woman.

She disappointed me immensely when she did not pull them up on the inconsistencies.

She may still be a shrewd and intelligent woman but that interview was poor on so many levels.

LumpiBolleaux · 29/05/2024 14:23

Heheeeheee

Mute on the surf instructor and bodyguard then? Heheeeheee. Thought so.

Well I find her quite ugly on the inside, if that counts?

According to a previous poster you can't be jealous of her because you don't know her, perhaps "envious"
