I didn’t see a new thread so wanted to start one. I’d really appreciate if everyone keeps this focused on Meghan-related fashion and lifestyle. I know I can’t expect only positive posts but let’s not get personal about Meghan or one another. 🙏

Princess Meghan ?? Do you mean Catherine’s sister - in - law ?

Tizzwazz · 21/05/2024 17:35

No idea if this is true about members of the Royal family regarding the wearing of silk. I do remember watching the crushed mesh of a dress that emerged from the coach when Prince Harry and Prince William’s mother married Prince Charles as he was then. However, by the time she walked down the aisle the dress had been largely smoothed out and looked regal enough

Taken from the above article:

“Silky Siren (2013) Silk just looks so good on Meghan, and this plummy dress may be an all-time fav from us. (Fun fact: members of the British Royal family can’t wear silk because they don’t want to show any creasing!)”

Tizzwazz · 21/05/2024 17:37

Princess Catherine’s sister-in-law. Yes, factually correct. 😊

…a stunning ring.

This ring that Princess Diana wore is gorgeous. I find it more iconic and imbued with her sense of style than the engagement ring she received. I think finding out about her misery once she married her Prince at 19 tainted it for me.

Here it is with Meghan wearing it. I can't work out if it is a single stone or has accents on each side of the aquamarine. I have a real aquamarine ring with a small diamond either side set in 9ct gold, nothing like this size and it wasn't purchased for any links to Diana or Meghan. I'd love a cocktail sized one though!

I also enjoy Princess Meghan’s fashion from her younger pre Prince Harry days.

I don't think she's ever really had much fashion or style sense. I think part of it is she always shows her knees and her legs are very thin. She very often gets proportions wrong. When she was a working royal in the UK it was much better. The one look I do love on her is the VERY straight hair. It separates her from the rest of the Eva Longorias of TV and screen ( yes I know different origins) with the bouncy curls.

I think Meghan usually nails it with her makeup like the pic above. The Oprah interview was way too heavy, but otherwise her makeup is always really pretty and natural.

I also love how she doesn't cover her freckles and moles! They are so pretty. 💝

Everyone I know who grew up in LA or moved as adults age faster. I think it's just sun damage for the most part. Sunscreen makes a huge difference!

I think younger people get it now. I love watching celebrity skin care routines and Hailey Bieber always wears sunscreen. Her skin is gorgeous to begin with.

Gwyneth paltrow on the other hand put a bit of sunscreen on her nose and called it a day. She also has a lot of what looks like sun damage. Her skin care routines was actually alarming given the tiny dab of sunscreen for California of all places.

Megan's casual looks are perfection. She rocks them.

Formal never seem to fit her. Jessica Mulroney did a better job styling her imo.

It’s gorgeous! Really glad she wears it frequently.

It took Princess Beatrice almost her entire adult life to perfect her royal look. Considering she was born into the family I can forgive the mistakes that Prince Harry’s wife made with regard to some of her fashion choices.

I saw these today of the aforementioned Princess B and Princess Ann’s daughter. Love the outfits! Beautifully cut and tailored to perfection. Princess B is in red with the umbrella. The umbrella reminded me of the now classic photo of Prince Harry and Meghan snapped under an umbrella (when they were in the process of leaving ‘working’ royal roles for differently employed working roles but still royal family members).

My brother first saw Meghan in Suits. Reckons she has a great set of gams.

Oh you mean Princess Anne and Zara Tindall.

You do know her title isn't Princess Meghan?

Tizzwazz · 21/05/2024 23:48

I thought she was a Princess of the realm when she married?

Tizzwazz · 22/05/2024 00:01

Aah. I see what you mean. Yes legally she is a Princess by marriage but would be called Princess Henry so the Duchess title takes the primary title as Prince Harry is also a Duke. Similarly, Diana was not really Princess Diana but the Princess of Wales. Or in the case of Camilla she is a Consort Queen not a real Queen who is actually a monarch such as the late Queen Elizabeth II.

Seems all rather technical I guess yet I always thought of the late Diana as Princess Diana pre and post divorce.

Once you see Donald Trump in Meghan’s left knee, you can’t unsee him.

I saw Guy Fawkes in one knee and a child’s face in the other.

I would be more swayed if some posters didn’t say “nailed it” for everything. For some she could be wearing a MAGA cap and they’d be saying how great it looks and giving links to dupes…

I say ‘nailed it’ - so am thinking this post is most likely aimed at me, (granted: maybe others as well). But I don’t say ‘nailed it’ for everything Meghan wears. It might seem like that to some. None of us are immune to bias.

If Meghan wore a MAGA cap I’d not be on commenting about Meghan at all, ever. 😃My politics lean to the left.

I agree with AliceOlive’s post about her distaste over negative comments about women’s faces and bodies.

So far, on various threads this past week, we’ve seen Meghan’s hair, body shape, face, & knees all commented on negatively. Is there any part of her left that hasn’t been negatively commented on?

AliceOlive · 22/05/2024 00:57

To be fair, I’m also not a fan of the excessive praise.
Most particularly when one is taking about themselves. So I do get the point made above that a woman calling herself beautiful is probably going to experience some blowback.

Fair enough AliceOlive. I was only referring to your take re criticism of women’s looks and aging.

It really doesn’t matter what Meghan said or didn’t say about herself, in this regard. We are all responsible for our own responses. While posting on the internet has its limitations, and comments can be misread and misunderstood, it was pretty clear that Meghan’s looks were being picked at and criticised. As they have been in the past - well before the Nigerian visit.

Meghan has also been heaped with praise about every aspect of her as well, some to a gushing hero worship extent over many threads. From what I have read I don’t think there has been anything nasty on here , just observations such as her new teeth looking too big for her now thinner face or her body shape not suiting a particular style of dress.

I don’t care for it but also feel like people get goaded into it sometimes. Not saying that you did that, but do believe it’s the point of some posts.

I agree with this. There are posts which if they haven’t been generated by AI it’s difficult to imagine someone typing them with a straight face.

For me it’s unreasonable to say her looks are out of bounds for criticism when it’s her looks that are so excessively lauded and admired in certain quarters.
Similarly the attempts to promote her as some kind of fashion icon when the vast majority of the time her clothes and styling are way off.
Add to that the obvious unpleasantness of her character and it’s inevitable that she’ll be criticised.
