@BemusedAmerican it’s possible he’ll not be along for the ride by then, esp if proving a liability like that.

Babybreath · 14/05/2024 16:21

Does this mean my phones been hacked ?

GlitchStitch · 14/05/2024 16:24

That's strange, they are a known media outlet and the link worked for me. I will report the post though in case, apologies.

It's just an attempt to flog you some protection I imagine. I have BITDEFENDER so it flags these things.

@WatchOutMissMarpleIsAbout she’ll do her homework & mitigate & learn & deflect if needs be. I see her in some major humanitarian role perhaps too. How does Trump or Biden fare?

She'll do her homework?

That would be a first.

GlitchStitch · 14/05/2024 16:26

I have reported the post just in case there is a issue with the link and asked it to be removed.

Badly! 🤣

I have safe browsing turned on and just ran 2 full virus scans. McAfee says I am ok.

That was an interesting article. It is hilarious they tracked the spending through MailOnline.

User14March · 14/05/2024 16:28

@IcedPurple I am not sure it would be. She’s very switched on IMO.

User14March · 14/05/2024 16:29

@BemusedAmerican can you copy & paste? Thanks

BemusedAmerican · 14/05/2024 16:29

Why doesn't Harry follow her advice, return to his own country, and run for political office? Be the change you want to see!

We must just have wildly different standards.

BemusedAmerican · 14/05/2024 16:32

Will try to do when on a computer. Not great on a phone.

AliceOlive · 14/05/2024 16:37

How is a trip to a country on the do not travel list paving the way to US presidency? If anything, it will put them on a watch list.

I had two instances where I wanted to travel to places that have been on and off the list. I was advised it would ruin my chances at a security clearance. (Cuba and Russia).

AliceOlive · 14/05/2024 16:38

Also, the dem or republican parties choose the president. You can hardly get elected dog catcher in US these days without their full support.

AliceOlive · 14/05/2024 16:40

As to skillset, if the skillset held by either Trump or Biden are what is required, I’m doubtful that Meghan could manage. That is a compliment to her.

User14March · 14/05/2024 16:44

@IcedPurple I think she knows what she’s doing.

No one, trust me, gets the kind of role on Suits as she did without a meticulous, planned, ‘spreadsheet’ approach to life/career & usually, IME, a certain ambitious ruthlessness. Too many dismiss her as a two bit actress they have no idea how difficult her trajectory will have been. No hapless fool makes it so far, ever, period. She had more obstacles to overcome too.

User14March · 14/05/2024 16:46

@AliceOlive it might be a major humanitarian role in future but she makes her dreams a reality I think. Whatever they may be.

Can you give an example other than getting the role in Suits? I don’t dismiss that, but also want to quote a friend who has told her children, “Make no mistake when looking at your own successes, you stand on the shoulders of giants.”

I do think she worked hard on Suits and did a great job. I enjoy the show immensely. But I’m not expecting anyone else on it to become president.

Is M’s overarching aim to be US president, I had wondered if Nigeria was paving way & it seems others feel same way. I think she has the skillset.

On H and family history…The history master at Eton H took to be singling him out. ‘Wales, you must know this’ ‘Why must I?’ ‘Because it’s your family’. ‘My family had declared me a nullity, the Spare’. History master gave him a ruler in private with all monarchs on it to refer to at desk. Master said ‘the more I call on you, the more you’ll learn’. H isn’t academically curious at all, going by book.

H thinks the History master had ‘overstepped’ had he? In his own way was he trying to help or spark interest in a subject he was passionate about?

You think she has the skill set? Really? The woman cannot strategise her way through a coherent sentence!!

AliceOlive · 14/05/2024 16:50

Also, Hillary Clinton had the education, the connections, the background and the team.

EdithWeston · 14/05/2024 16:51

You have to be very, very rich to run as an independent in the US presidentials - only two have done so in modern times (Perrot and Trump). And Trump won only after securing the Republican party nomination.

I cannot see someone with a reputation for tell-all making headway in the sort of confidential horse-trading that's needed to secure a party's backing. And with no background in anything representational (unions, mayor etc) there doesn't seem to be a starting point.

Also, I think they'd hate the increased press attention.

And the idea that she's interested in politics seems to emanate mainly from wishful thinking in largely unsourced commentaries. I don't think there's been a sniff of it from the usual suspects (those they are known to brief) let alone directly

So what you're saying is that everyone who gets a role on a basic cable TV show is a potential president?

User14March · 14/05/2024 16:57

@IcedPurple let’s just say I recognise the type, and she has what it takes to go a very long way. Some really do achieve the impossible & unimaginable. It depends on what M ultimately wants.
