Thank you @ShamedBySiri that’s very kind of you.

Thank you @MummyJ12 much appreciated.

Here’s a screenshot of an interesting couple of tweets (from the squaddie above).
Proof that the Sussex Squad are funded but it also looks like Kensington Palace was possibly trying to negotiate with them back in March (to get to the root of the squad problem and put an end to the conspiracy theories presumably).

OMG, is 'baldilocks' Princess Catherine ? What a loathsome, loathsome woman.

TheTallestSally · 16/05/2024 18:50

Baldilocks?

And folk are fine supporting them?

It is nothing short of shameful.

MaturingCheeseball · 16/05/2024 18:55

In the wake of Kate’s announcement, a poster on here said that K’s cancer wasn’t as bad as the abuse Meghan had suffered in the UK. There’s being a fan and there’s being thoroughly warped.

Salemforcuddles · 16/05/2024 19:00

@BigWillyLittleTodger a truly awful comment, I hope you are okay xx

MummyJ12 · 16/05/2024 19:04

💐 for you @smilesy and you 💐@TheTallestSally too.

I won’t be engaging with that poster again. I agree, obviously a Sussex Squad member. Thinking about it, when I posted about the tweets, the response came way too fast. I should’ve realised then…..why are they all so vile?

This is what we’re dealing with.
It’s like they’re brainwashed. What’s going on?

Surely they mean William? That’s childish enough but not Catherine? Surely.

Tlolljs · 16/05/2024 19:13

Sending support @BigWillyLittleTodger
Like others have said try to rise above it. But I don’t blame you for reacting as you did.
Princess Anne was 20! I didn’t know what way was up when I was 20.

They’re such low life losers that nothing surprises me at how far down the SS will scoop, it just beats me why anyone would want to be associated with such a setup.
If that comment was aimed at Kate them I am truly sickened. They really are pond scum.

The depressing thing is that, if she has had a genealogy test giving her a tribal marker, she'll have more in common with the Nigerian populace who are the descendants of the slavery that continued in Nigeria until the 1940s than the elites who have bestowed the princess title on her. One section of these people are called the Osu people, and they continue to suffer discrimination at the hands of the Nigerian elites within Igbo society, under a caste system that bars them from positions of influence. Would an Osu woman be made into a princess?

It's also once again utterly risible to see the fan-girling over royalty by so- called republicans. I would have thought you would have had greater respect for Meghan and Harry giving up titles and entitlement, not taking on even more, and from a highly discriminatory system of governance at that. Meghan could have made an incredible statement of support for the Osu and other struggling and oppressed Nigerians, rather than joining the ranks of another elite.

Edited

not read the full thread so this may have been addressed already, but this comment shows a lack of understanding of how the transatlantic slave trade worked. It wasn’t uncommon for members of the elites of various communities or even royalty to end up captured either as prisoners of war or even kidnappings from slave raiders and sold into slavery overseas just as ‘ordinary’ people were, so it’s not particularly accurate to say Meghan would have more in common with the present day descendants of domestic slavery than the present day elites, since everyone is so mixed up - it’s probably more accurate to say they all have something in common. The Osu caste system, while tragic and condemnable, is a completely different kettle of fish that is quite complex to explain and not really a good comparison in this topic (because it would be like comparing apples with oranges in the sense that both are bad, but they’re too different to accurately compare, just the same way apples and oranges are both fruit but are too different to compare).

I don't know !!, but would you use a reference to 'goldilocks' in reference to a man? and Catherine is renowned for her amazing hair. I could be totally wrong, but to me it looks like a horrible nickname for Catherine after her cancer diagnosis. They have had other awful nicknames for her, it's how they operate, so it wouldn't surprise me.

Tlolljs · 16/05/2024 19:44

That’s absolutely disgusting. Some people are just scum.

I'm happy to defer to your superior knowledge on the matter. All I know is that people from tribes that make up what is currently called Nigeria were selling their fellow people into slavery both before and for a long time after the transatlantic slave trade that involved the British. And this practice went on until the 1940s, resulting in the descendants of those enslaved suffering today. The elite "Nigerian" populace always included slave traders and slave owners; and from what I have read, they remain gatekeepers to the Osu making progress. Obviously we do not know Meghan's tribal heritage as she hasn't chosen to share that information, and nobody knows under what circumstances her ancestors were sold into slavery and by whom. But I would posit that she ought to feel more solidarity with the Osu than she does to the elites she was hobnobbing with on her visit, simply because both she and they are the decendants of the enslaved.

Abouttimeforanamechange · 16/05/2024 20:18

Princess Anne was 20! I didn’t know what way was up when I was 20.

And I remember she said she would only take it on if she could have a really active role. She didn't want to be just a figurehead or a name on the notepaper.

According to their website, "recently, she has travelled to Bangladesh, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Mozambique, Ethiopia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina".

@MummyJ12 they are people who have an empty shell of a life. They look in the mirror and do not like what they see. They like to blame others. They are bitter and sad. For many it is the only way they " communicate" with others.

MummyJ12 · 16/05/2024 20:38

The hounding and bullying continues on a daily basis and I really wish someone would do something. This was posted by Bouzy the other day. It’s upsetting that they won’t leave her alone.

To quote
" The #SussexSquad not only works to promote the work of Harry, 34, and Meghan, 37, but also to take down the haters, in internet speak."

Note the last part.
