I don't know about the view on the ground in Nigeria, but what we could see from the images and PR from the trip, was that it was a very elite group she met with, probably most of them somehow linked to the military heads who invited them. It was carefully curated and staged. I have seen some Nigerian influencers be very critical of the visit (not critical of H&M) and a Nigerian Human rights group have been openly critical, which is pretty brave of them.

I don't think she is loved in America by the average person, from what we read she is often ridiculed by US media, , she again mixes with a very elite group there who support her for no other reason than her father in law is The King of Great Britain. The likes of Oprah, Tyler Perry and the billionaires she now hangs out with had no interest in her when she was an actress on Suits.

Good for them.

Ah - just spotted the lemon…

Slight pivot here. Marriott Hotels just launched a collaboration with Flamingo Estate

Hmm collaboration with insanely successful hotel chain or.... Meghan.

Think they made the right decision here!

Oh man, that is how you write effective wankery without it becoming unintelligible word salad, and market an earth-washed, capitalist, profitable collaboration Grin It's an absolute art form!

BemusedAmerican · 15/05/2024 23:31

@TheTallestSally 😂

Ultimately it’s a great shame that Harry is the figure head of Invictus, but this rodeo somehow ended up being all about Meghan. The me me me … in so many guises really is so unpalatable. If she had played a supporting role (which would have been appropriate) that would have been great.

But that’s been the modus operandi from the off and it’s just more of the same. It really is quite cringe making watching some of the attention she craves that is so inappropriate to the situation. I wonder what he really thinks deep down or whether he’s now just so used to it and blinded by the reality of it all.

Ultimately they seem on such different paths in terms of her desires for limelight, fame, adulation and fortune. Him presumably wanting/needing fortune to pay for their lifestyle but not wanting the limelight and all the circus that goes with it all.

@ShyPoet I don’t know if bot sentinel still holds up.

But this bit in the article you linked to caught me eye:

It comes after Meghan previously said trolling she experienced the year before this research, in 2019, was "almost unsurvivable."

It doesn’t take an algorithm specialist to see that it’s obvious Meghan has been the victim on a great deal of online trolling, which is combined with trolling by newspapers. In this day and age people gang up to criticize, and rip apart, her character and anything she does. It’s insanity. And we are all human and no one is perfect but when it gets to the point that people are constantly criticising her, exaggerating things and also posting and passing along unsubstantiated and sometimes quite nasty gossip, you’ve got to wonder about the character of people who do this. What is happening in their lives that they are religiously going online on sm and the comments sections of tabloids to post criticism after criticism of a woman.

None of this is really about her actually, it’s a reflection of the minds of those actively participating in it.

AutumnCrow · 16/05/2024 01:25

The other thing that occurs to me is that, with some exceptions, it's not possible to know the sex of anyone online with an anonymous account or a pseudonym. You even see it on here.

I bet there are security services tracking this shit, though, and where the traffic is and its intended purpose.

Edited for typo

@AutumnCrow

I agree AutumCrow. We don’t know who is what on here. We do see it on here in many forums too, I believe.

I think security services would be tracking it. People have been sent to jail for hate accounts so someone certainly must be watching.

This was based on the debunked Bot centennial report.

BemusedAmerican · 16/05/2024 01:50

Just reading about all this is frightening. I find it disturbing that it is an industry.

Again based on the same flawed data which wasn’t impartially gathered.

Christopher Bouzy? The Commander in Chief of the Sussex Squad and personal friend of Harry and Meghan? and the person who bullies Kate and William online? All of his claims have been debunked . I wonder how his case is going with regards to appointing a British law firm to prove that it wasn’t Kate but a body double at the Farm shop placed by the Royal Family, he seems to have gone very quiet on that front, I wonder why…….

Yes, @AliceOlive sentinel Twitter report was found to be flawed but it’s just obvious there are big anti Meghan hate accounts on Twitter and you tube. The reason I went to look was because I’ve heard of all the stuff about the SussexSquad and I absolutely do see that some are extreme (but not all). And this is the same with the ‘other side’ - they both exist. I’ve written about the accounts on another thread.

The Susssex squad are just more easily identifiable because of the name but have a look at Twitter, Meghan’s Mole 70,000 plus followers and it’s pretty bad. There were other big accounts / not had to find. They are monetized. And Twitter has inherited Elon Musk and it’s a sewer on there in many areas now.

A while back i saw 2 different accounts post a series of mocked up pornographic images/photos of both Meghan and Camilla. Their heads attached to other bodies. The pubic hair vulval area just blacked out a bit. I reported them and only one lot of images was taken down because one account was an obvious hate account. The other account was deemed to be okay. I shit you not.
