Mediterranean Maple Meadow

Waffles, surely?

Ha ha, yes waffles!

My new line for summer will be Word Salad.

Be sure to have a King or Queen gift your child a waffle iron so your waffles can be royally endorsed. Even better if that child shares a name/nickname with that sovereign too!

I’m imagining Lilibet’s Waffles…

Bohemian Redwood Forest.

I'll get a minion to come up with something to flog...

success depends on how much they need, balancing their wealth and expenditures. Even if all of Charles products shut down its only going to impact workers and the charity sides, he’s still bloody rich. Does their wealth provide enough income to live how they are doing? They could sell 20 jars and feel successful or sell 1000s and be living off their assets. In 10 - 15 years time there will be 5 emerging adults to focus on and William, Catherine, Harry and Meghan will be Charles, Camilla, Anne and Edward. Nice enough but rarely going to provide the glamour or the column inches.

I can't see how they can sustain their current lifestyle.

I don't see ARO being a financial success. They won't score big media deals again. Interest in them has already started to wane, and given that it's very unlikely they will be seen at glamorous royal events again, it will continue to wane. As you say, they will be less attractive to magazines and gossip columns as they age and the focus shifts to the Wales children. I doubt there will be much interest in Archie and Lili. They are royal in name only and will grow up as Californians.

Of course they will be able to live a very luxurious life by most people's standards even if they never earn another penny. But 'most people's standards' aren't what they are about.

Vintage Maple Chateau is the name of my new venture.
I’ll be selling whatever I can get my hands on at B&M bargains for 50x the price! No products, trademarks or domains as yet but I thought I’d announce it.
You’re welcome!

I wouldn't expect Oprah to say she made mistakes with the interview but I wonder if she does in her very private own thoughts.

All this talk of jam has made me want to click my fingers and be sitting in the restaurant at Sandringham, or the Pump Rooms at Bath, about to eat a fresh scone with best strawberry jam on it, and a pot of hot, fresh, tea. (Go to you kitchen, woman. It's not the same!)

(We all want jam on it.)

Here you go:

I see supporters online talking about her as if she’s a seasoned business woman. What business has she run? Getting copyrights a few days before launching an instagram page doesn’t give the appearance of someone that’s spent any time making a plan.

A friend of mine opened a small lunch cafe and spent a year, full time, getting everything in place before opening.

The fact that she allowed that whole fiasco with the Trussell Trust shows how she hasn't got a clue. It's great that the charity got the donations of course, but it has made Meghan and her 'brand' into a laughing stock.

I'm no 'seasoned businesswoman', but even I know that you buy up rights to your trademark in all domains before starting a business, to avoid things like this happening. Amateur hour.

EmpressOfTheThread · 20/04/2024 17:36

Also, she's lucky that it was something as positive and worthwhile as the Trussell Trust!

IcedPurple · 20/04/2024 17:38

True! It could have been much worse! I shudder to think!

As someone said earlier, if she had any sense of humour she should have made a big donation in her own name. That would have turned things back in her favour. But I don't think she's capable of something like that.

Exactly, and when you consider all the domain names they quietly bought up and copyrighted. every iteration of Lilibet. Archewell and Sussex you could possibly think of. It certainly shows how rushed the American Orchard launch was, that they hadn't got around to covering their tracks with their business endeavour.

Geebray · 20/04/2024 17:53

You'd think that Canadian web agency she loves so much, who threw up her one page Wordpress website, would have advised them to buy up a few domains? Or just done it themselves?

Vespanest · 20/04/2024 17:55

The best thing about the trussell trust is that it probably would have come to an end yesterday, it’s the anger that’s still keeping it going. As if trying to troll a charity is the best form of attack. It would have been better to do the same for a US food bank then everyone is a winner.

Provincial Redwood Hideaway

It's my dream. My very own log cabin which my husband will make the old fashioned way with axe, saw and hammer and nails.
Meanwhile I'll be furnishing it with as much patchwork as I can lay my hands on. And some nice soft sheepskins. I've even got a little house on the Prairie cookbook.

So that's my initial stock list sorted.

Tempted to have a pair of pet baby beavers for instagram content, but they are risky in a wooden house....

(I read Grey Owl's books and his pet beavers were a passion but given to causing mayhem).

Abouttimeforanamechange · 20/04/2024 19:26

Bungalow doesn't have quite the same vibe as Manor or Chateau. Cosy rather than aspirational. Granny's chutney and crocheted items, perhaps.

Hang on a minute - I don't understand, @AliceOlive ....is that saying royal titles don't exist in America? On ARO? What about Meghan?
