People on twitter had been mentioning that none of the influencers had shown themselves actually eating the jam,, lo and behold a day later Nacho shows up, he really shouldn't have bothered.

None of the people she sent this jam to would go anywhere near a product which is mostly sugar. It's another reason why jam is such an odd choice for this 'launch'. A very cheap, commonplace, not very healthy product which is sloppy to eat. And not even a fresh, California take on jam. Just boring old strawberry jam which you can find in every supermarket. Amateur hour.

ShamedBySiri · 19/04/2024 13:25

I'm sure Catherine is a better person than I am and not given to enjoyment of jokes at another person's expense, let alone if that person is a family member, and besides she has other more serious matters on her mind at present. But I do hope she has seen this. So many really lovely comments (and funny ones) along with the donations. I'd like to think it has given her a brief guilty pleasure.

ShamedBySiri · 19/04/2024 13:26

Also - who spreads jam that thickly?
Have some bread with your jam!

Abouttimeforanamechange · 19/04/2024 13:33

The Business Insider article says 'a series "curated" by Meghan that, according to its vague logline, "celebrates the joys of cooking, gardening, entertaining, and friendship."

What does 'curated' mean? Most people likely to watch, would be watching to see Meghan presenting the show. What's the draw, if she's not going to be onscreen?

And gardening? Never mind the jam wars, Pa-in-law has been gardening since you were in nappies, Meghan....

Abouttimeforanamechange · 19/04/2024 13:39

From all over the world, not just the UK. Often adding 'love to William and the children'. It's really lovely to see so much warmth, after the recent spite and nastiness. Plus the support for the King.

WhataPithy · 19/04/2024 14:20

That picture of Nacho eating the jam toast Grin it is a very odd photo! But hilarious nevertheless.

“did I tell you I love your jam?” Sounds like he said it under the duress. The picture makes it look like he’s being forced to eat it!

Thanks for the Aro.uk link, I have donated too 😇💥 Love the comments there.

Sorry, is that meant to sell the jam to us?

I'm surprised Nacho published this photo. For a handsome and very image conscious guy to publish a close up of him biting into a jam sandwich? The nasty looking cheese and random strawberries aren't exactly adding up to a sophisticated image either.

What’s even more surprising , is when I mentioned on the last thread how it looks so out of place next to their green juice , and that ARO must take notes Of all criticism even ones on here , I was told by a poster that MN is the last place they’d check for feed back, well lo and behold a few hours later Nacho posts the most unappealing picture there is . guess MN is not beneath them after all .

For some reason the concept of the Trussell site reminded me of Boaty Mcboatface. It's funny in a very British way that probably doesn't translate. At least it's raising money for a good cause.

Looking at the photo of the man eating toast and jam, which I always do whilst leaning as close to the jar as possible, it does appear that the jar is still full of jam. Maybe he is so used to sugar and gluten that he used a spoon to scoop some jam down one side of the jar, rather than stick a buttery, crumby knife in like the rest of us?

millieton · 19/04/2024 16:08

Sad but not surprised to see the comments being thrown at The Trussell Trust by the Sussex Squadders. If you think the appropriate way to defend the woman you bizarrely worship (bizarre because of the intensity of their devotion) is to demand that a charity refuses money which will be used to FEED HUNGRY PEOPLE, then you just need to rethink everything about your life.

AliceOlive · 19/04/2024 16:15

The comments on the just giving site are worth a read.

FloofCloud · 19/04/2024 16:15

@millieton - where do these Sussex squanders reside? Or is it those on MN? I don't really know how to use TwiX (or whatever it's called now) so not sure
Whatever I've Donated too and plenty of comments on there outing the Sussex's as horrible people!
I really hope some rich people jump in and get that figure up! 😝 good to highlight a worthy cause feeding the nation who are struggling

Absolutely!!

I think it was clever to use the food bank, the Sussex squad would have been funny if it was the kings or the Wales charities.its nice it’s over 10k

I’m now imagining Meghan and/or Harry in the celeb version of The Apprentice. It would be comedy gold…

Meghan would be on the floor weeping.
Harry would be at the wrong location, and blaming the British press.

EmpressOfTheThread · 19/04/2024 16:41

The Trussell Trust link is an act of genius!
Someone sets up something so self serving, shallow and derivative, and someone else gets a charity to benefit. Fantastic!

Kudos to whoever came up with the idea.

It a great cause, and a nice refreshing palate cleanse to all things H&M, certainly a bit of karma for how they tried to undermine Williams speech at the Diana awards.

They're on X/Twitter, or at least that's where I see them. Their behaviour has to be seen to be believed, honestly. Some of the most abusive internet trolls out there and all apparently in the name of kindness?

FloofCloud · 19/04/2024 16:51

@millieton how do I find these on X ?

Jam has to be the least sexy food out there.

Even a hot guy like Nacho can't eat it without looking a sloppy mess.

What a terrible choice for a brand 'roll out'.

I would have thought she would choose something more Californian since I think their target audience is probably American, unless the postage is really cheap.

BigWillyLittleTodger · 19/04/2024 16:52

According to the DM a spokesperson from California has got very sniffy indeed about the soar in jam sales on the Highgrove website! I am waiting for my Highgrove raspberry and blackcurrant jam to arrive, I shall report back once I’ve done my taste test, I promise not to post a picture emulating Nacho.

Thedom · 19/04/2024 16:53

Sadly, I think all of Nacho's hotness has disappeared now that people have seen the insides of his mouth 😷
