Couldn't resist opening it with this from the last thread 😁

For clarity (and I don’t think it needed spelling out) your post was not mentioned and it was a general observation.

Maybe try reading the words that I’ve written and not the ones you think I’ve written.

Perhaps she just lays hands on each jar and blesses it.

Grin Grin

Howling at the idea of the pics being takeen at a cannabis farm though; if that's true it would be so appropriate, what with Harry's use and what Meghan considered appropriate to offer the guests at her first wedding

Then again it would explain so much ...

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 02/05/2024 09:57

Anyone doing that is disgusting as well.
Why would I think otherwise?!
Strange how you just assume with people

I wasn't talking about you specifically. Strange how you just assume that.

roastedrapidly · 02/05/2024 09:58

The Sussex supporters are a special kind of toxic and H & M's silence on their bullying and attacks show they are in full support of the hatred the Sussex squad spew. Nice Hmm

Cool, as you said you were "going to reply with that very same thing" to my post and then in the same post said about not denouncing bullying, easy assumption to make.
You apparently meant other people though.
Ok, as you were then 👍 😁

The thing is, if you post a video of yourself making jam and people post photos of jam given to them by the jam-maker, people are going to assume that the jam-maker made the jam.

If she didn't make it, or have something to do with its making, then what's the point of it all?

Anyone can pop to their local Tesco, buy up their stock of strawberry jam, slap their own label on it and send it out to fifty 'friends'. For all anyone knows, in the absence of any info about where this jam has come from and why it's special, that's what she's done.

MummyJ12 · 02/05/2024 11:11

She’s maintaining the jam’s privacy.

@GoodAfternoonGoodEveningAndGoodnight I have several hexagonal jars left over from pricey NYS honey. They can easily be purchased in bulk. Anyone can buy the jars without the jam and they arrive without shoddy labels. She's going to have to handmake her jars for them to stand out. Harry has lots of free time. He can take up pottery.

Glass blowing might be more appropriate. Especially as he is full of hot air

A major part of a food product today is its provenance - where from, grown how, produced under what conditions. It is this that should be part of the marketing for a high end product - people want to know the source.

Yes, and in fact I'd say in the luxury market, it's absolutely non-negotiable. That's what people who buy specialist food expect as a given - that they'll be made of the best, local ingredients and made in a small factory/kitchen.

If ARO's jam doesn't fulfil these criteria, just what is the point of it? I would expect M to have chosen the strawberry grower, visited them to check things out and be closely involved in the preparation process - ensuring experts were making the jam as good as it could be etc etc. At the very least!!! Oh, and to have some actual authentic interest in strawberry jam too.

If they've simply used any old fruit and not even looked into the production...then what is the USP? Just faux-rustic packaging and presentation? M seems to me a mixture of being savvy in some ways and incredibly naive and out of touch in other areas.

FlouncetteLaFroth · 02/05/2024 15:04

I wonder how many of the chosen ones are wishing they’d got the party bag from wedding number 1 instead of jam.

StiffyByngsDogBartholomew · 02/05/2024 15:13

I can't really work out the strategy here. I understand getting people talking about a product that exists and also hyping up an anticipated launch in the same way that teaser trailers are released for films. It seems to me that this is all some sort of weird marketing version of a hip hop hype man. But the rapper is still sat in the dressing room 🤷‍♀️

It's all gone a bit flat hasn't it? The release , the gifting to influencers , the posting of some jars and now what? Nothing ?

Love that!

Actually, over-thinking things somewhat, those bowls of lemons with jam nestled amongst them are beginning to seem a bit sinister. I think I'd be spooked, personally, if one of those arrived out of the blue.

Could it be some kind of message from the mob? A veiled threat? An assassination attempt using poisoned preserves?

FlouncetteLaFroth · 02/05/2024 16:30

It is all a nonsense.

And it is fine if it is merely a nonsense.

But this shit - and the shit of their followers - is harming people. Real people.

And worse, they are gleeful about it.

And silent on the things that should matter.

The bowl of lemons has only two meanings for me.

All fur coat and no drawers.

You can wrap a shite in glitter but it will still be a shite.

Totally agree, H&M have the nerve to spout about how horrific online bullying is yet they are silent on the horrendous actions of the SS (what a rather unfortunate abbreviation….) it proves they support them especially as their mate Bouzy is the Colonel in Chief.

queenofarles · 02/05/2024 17:17

Maybe she's selling a range of jam jars for a new kitchen range, and that's the product, that it was never jam that was going to be sold at all.

what the plain hexagonal jar ?
Terrible idea !
If she actually paid money for this sort of advice , then she should demand a refund and if this is her idea , she clearly needs a lot to learn about marketing. The whole "product" is lost in a sea of lemons.

this is clearly a soft launch that neither went good nor bad , needs revision and within time will take off.

wordler · 02/05/2024 18:18

I think it’s a long promo launch for the cooking series and the cooking series itself will be the promo launch for the lifestyle products.

She won’t be selling jam - she’ll be selling all the kitchen stuff used to make jam - there will be fancy copper pans, crockpots, etc. And there will be product placement deals for big name equipment like KitchenAid etc.
