Maybe it’s CBD jam.

AROCBD: an anagram of Carbod.

FlouncetteLaFroth · 01/05/2024 23:14

Well at least the smell won’t be a surprise.

AuroraCake · 01/05/2024 23:19

I make jam/goo All the time. Obviously sieved etc depending on whether I am using it in baking. I had two pots on at the weekend and it did dawn on me that it is hard on fruit. You need an awful lot to make an average jar. So I guess 1. It’s jam. 2. Do they grow that much fruit? 3. Is it the wholesome, perfect life thing?

Someone Google Earthed their mansion and worked out that the strawberries for jam can’t be grown there because there’s not enough growing space.

BemusedAmerican · 02/05/2024 00:27

@ShamedBySiri 😂😂😂

MegsNaiceJam · 02/05/2024 00:36

It’s not just jam, it is naice jam.

@GoodAfternoonGoodEveningAndGoodnight Or common sense?

Why? You tell a lie, someone is going to find the evidence to call you out on it!

AnnieSF · 02/05/2024 01:53

A major part of a food product today is its provenance - where from, grown how, produced under what conditions. It is this that should be part of the marketing for a high end product - people want to know the source.

ZellyFitzgerald · 02/05/2024 07:15

I feel like the whole jam thing is so confused, unless it's all a bit of a troll and when stuff is properly released it turns out that ARO is going in a completely direction than everyone expects.

Otherwise the whole thing just smacks of someone launching a business without actually knowing what they're doing. Or being given advice and not taking it.

There are better products out there, better businesses, better jams. There needs to be a reason to buy this particular product over say, Bonne Maman which is delicious and affordable and in my local supermarket.

Why should I buy this jam? And it can't just be because the company belongs to Meghan, that's simply not enough. Blake Lively proved you can't launch a business on the strength of a name. The business has to be viable and the product has to be good!

EmpressOfTheThread · 02/05/2024 07:28

Or someone who thinks that they're so amazing that whatever they do is fantastic.

GoodAfternoonGoodEveningAndGoodnight · 01/05/2024 22:31

Maybe she's selling a range of jam jars for a new kitchen range, and that's the product, that it was never jam that was going to be sold at all.
Now sat laughing at all the fascination and furore over the jam.
With a side of bewilderment and mirth that she doesn't even have to sell one jar of jam to get people suddenly going bonkers for the Kings, and other companies.
Now that'd be pretty funny

I don’t think what has happened to the small batch company is funny at all.

Quite. Or surrounding yourself with Yes Men who won't tell you the truth.

This pair have had so many opportunities that others can only dream of. But an opportunity only takes you so far, without talent it soon flounders. Same thing happened with Brooklyn Beckham, leaping from project to project with no clear vision, then moving onto the next new thing when it didn't work out.

First Archewell, now ARO. I wonder what the next project will be....

Neither do I. The way they are being targeted is awful. I'm hoping it goes the same way as the UK ARO site and actually backfires on the SS, resulting in more support for the company.

Well it is, but that was the point I was trying to make. Meghan is flogging this jam as HER JAM, but if she didn't grow the strawberries or make the jam, why is it any more HER JAM than a jar from anywhere else? She maybe did the calligraphy for the label. Big deal! There is a ton of really nice, high quality, commercially made jam out there. It seems she just bought a job lot and put her own labels on it. So why is it special? It's not. It's all hype. As usual.

GoodAfternoonGoodEveningAndGoodnight · 02/05/2024 08:59

She hasn't even flogged anything yet lol, she's literally just sent a few jars of jam out to a few people!
Has she said she's making and selling jam?!
Could be going to sell lovely jars for all you know 😁

I'm getting Woody Guthrie vibes:

This jam is your jam, this jam is my jam;
Strawbs from somewhere, shown off on i-gram...🎵

Perhaps she just lays hands on each jar and blesses it.

What is next level is a small business getting hounded by deluded fools on the internet.

And others thinking that the situation is ihumorous.

Was about to post the very same thing. Still no comment from Sussex supporters on here deploring that and calling out bullying and hate, I see. All gone curiously quiet.

Anyone doing that is disgusting as well.
Why would I think otherwise?!
Strange how you just assume with people.
It is next level Google earthing a stranger's house to see whether or not it'd be easy to make jam or not or what type of trees they've got or whatever and then run to the internet to tell everybody.
Stalkerish behaviour.
Anyone hounding small businesses is disgusting.
It is possible to hold both opinions, you know.

FlouncetteLaFroth · 02/05/2024 09:46

MrsD

I can only imagine that it would only be something along the lines of ‘oooh it is awful but have you seen the criticism about her shoes?’ Or some much nonsense.

For clarity (as I didn't realise it'd need spelling out) the humorous bit would be if Meghan wasn't actually selling jam at all and everyone is getting into a tizz over whether she made it/ selling out other companies from their jams such as the Kings etc in jam anticipation, and then it turns out to not be jam that she's selling at all.
Not harassing small businesses 🙄
