I just wanted to share some thoughts I've had since talking to some RL friends last night. I'm a Republican, and didn't actually post much on any of the threads on here. But I did read them, laugh at the ones I found funny and speculated a little IRL. I enjoy robust mental health, but I feel a little sad and down today about the news. And a little guilty. It occurs to me that it might be a real source of distress to some other people. Not the big media ghouls, of course, they have no shame and will just move on to the next thing without looking back, but for those of us who bought in to the whole farrago and maybe posted things we now wish we hadn't. So remember, the media often manipulates us, the establishment often lies to us and it's actually a good thing not to immediately take what we're told at face value. Don't beat yourself up and find someone to talk to if you feel really bad about it. Take care of yourselves.

Such a conspiracy would also need to include the BBC who filmed Catherine. That’s quite some claim - implying that the trusted state broadcaster and most respected broadcasting entity worldwide has produced an AI princess.

BBC actually confirmed yesterday that it was one take/no edits which I thought was a bit of strange thing to announce

But now I can see why

I guess one thing I have learned in the last few weeks is that you really, truly, can't fix stupid.

Oh and one more - our education system is even more fucked up than I had feared.

No education system can compete against the now developed cultural habit of people sitting for hours on the Internet believing bullshit.

True! However, they have extremely poor critical thinking skills!

Three separate people on Twitter claiming to be sound engineers say they can tell from the audio layers that it’s definitely been filmed indoors, with a boom, against a green screen.

This doesn't make any sense - a sound engineer would never talk about audio "layers". What difference does it make whether they used a boom or not? Booms are used indoors and outdoors. There was most likely a boom if you can't see a personal mic on her (I haven't seen the video) but that doesn't mean it wasn't filmed outside. Plus use of a green screen doesn't affect sound at all, so what has that got to do with it? You can't tell that a green screen has been used from the audio.

Of course there was a boom. It was filmed by the BBC.

Why bother arguing with someone who has lost the link to reality.

Eh? What does that have to do with it? The BBC do use quite a range of mics, amazingly. Maybe she had a personal, I don't know, I haven't seen the video.

Serenster · 24/03/2024 22:33

Here’s a statement put out by BBC productions just to try and dispel this kind of rubbish.

There are people who think mass shootings in the US were staged by "crisis actors". There's no reasoning with these types.

Canthave2manycats · 24/03/2024 22:41

It just gets crazier and crazier. The internet has sent some people mad!

They're the ones who'd have been sitting there knitting and gossiping watching the guillotine at work in the French revolution.

Tricoteuses.

Yes, the very ones!

OneHeartySnail · 24/03/2024 23:05

Oh yes! I like to knit, but blood on my painstakingly done (and redone because of mistakes) lace stitch would be a Bit Much.

Vive la Scarlet Pimpernel, but also down with the aristos!

Oh well if they claim to be sound engineers that'll be proof right enough 🙄

Utterly bizarre that people who howled for more information a few days ago are now using “ they gave us more information than normal” as evidence to support their conspiracy theories.

What an 'utterly bizarre' response to my post which you have not only mis-interpreted but taken out of context

I was simply providing a piece of information showing that the BBC felt the need to pre-empt conspiracy theories by giving details of how the piece was recorded

China and Russia responsible for spreading rumours about pow!

musthorse · 25/03/2024 10:45

I happened to come across an article about criticism of online social channels who allow lurid conspiracy theories and that there needs to be moves to tighten this up.They particularly referenced Mr Bouzy. His terminology is exactly what we have seen on here.

In addition how many times have we seen this parroted by posters on here?

👍

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 25/03/2024 10:53

Yes, all the same talking point, repeated again and again. The sub context is always the same. Catherine is a step ford wife and abused, William is unfit to lead and generally a bad man. No evidence provided other than a whole load of gossip and misogyny wrapped up in faux concern.

musthorse · 25/03/2024 11:14

I'm sure the phrase " under the bus" must have been used a million times on here in various posts - well I might be exaggerating a bit!
