Even now there are vile posters wallowing in the Catherine news. Please don’t give them an outlet.

OP posts:

@LittleBearPad
Depends on the gossip. Malicious untrue rumours that hurt people isn’t gossip
It's all gossip in my book . The wilder the rumours the more commentary is generated , if it's people posting objecting to the mad theories and "standing up for Kate " it's all clicks and all revenue generating .

PuppyPlus · 23/03/2024 11:16

So the one thread that was pulled was the one that listed all the ways in which Harry and Meghan have caused problems and hurt for the RF. The thread was definitely in poor taste for all involved, this is not the time for point scoring on the back of a very unwell woman and her suffering family. Are Mumsnet pro Sussex / anti royalist and MN moderators biased?

That's exactly what gossip is

MNHQ can run the site as they see fit. Harry is still a member of the royal family even though he's moved away. And I can see why they did.

PuppyPlus · 23/03/2024 11:36

Why pull one tasteless thread that is an invitation for picking on Meghan and not the 100 other threads that are open season on Kate? That's not right.

It's not right because these two are living, breathing, feeling women with families. Mumsnet should not facilitate deranged pile on where posters claim William has beaten up his wife, cheated on her, she has had a facelift or god knows what and both are lazy because they are coming to terms with and managing a life changing illness.

It's disgraceful. No individual or family deserve this. MN is biased.

I read that thread. People were claiming that Meghan caused Kate to get cancer.
That is why it was deleted.

MyopicBunny · 23/03/2024 11:41

I haven't seen vitriol levelled at Kate - the stuff people say about Meghan is far worse. Most people were genuinely concerned about Kate and it was clear that something was wrong. And it turned out that yes, something is indeed very wrong.

The cheating rumours surrounding William have been there for years. It's not either or. It's not blasphemy to say that William might have mistresses just like his dad and his granddad before him. These people have very different lives from most of us.

TheFormidableMrsC · 23/03/2024 11:48

I've "I watched" all the threads as they were largely bloody horrible. I think they should all be pulled.

TheFormidableMrsC · 23/03/2024 11:48

"Un-watched"

MeinKraft · 23/03/2024 11:51

'So what is the actual situation? She has cancer, we don't know much more because it's none of our business but she has cancer and chemotherapy, those are the facts, not something that can be skewed.'

Within a couple of hours if the announcement there were American MDs on Twitter spouting off about how cancerous tissue would never be found after an operation and they would have known beforehand that she had cancer. The American commentary on Twitter is insufferable.

areyoutheregod · 23/03/2024 11:52

I have a better idea, pull the whole board! Go back years and all you see is nastiness about the women, mostly Meghan. It's been gross for years, it doesn't suddenly become this way.

EasternStandard · 23/03/2024 11:55

Will mnhq even see this given that it’s not in site stuff

Nope! unless you report it.

I’m not fussed either way, maybe the op can if they want it to be seen by mnhq

There is an American oncologist on twitter saying that she has approached by 4 different shows asking her to come on to discuss Kates cancer. She has declined, and publicly explained she’s declined, because she’s not Kate’s oncologist, has no more information than what was shared publicly, and it would be irresponsible to speculate. Plenty of limelight chasers are happy to do so though, clearly.

Flowerpotcat · 23/03/2024 12:01

Agreed. This is a site for mothers to support mothers - there are 3 young children involved, it's gone too far.

And I say that as someone who does not support the monarchy as an institution.

Really ?? You haven’t seen vitriol levelled at the Princess of Wales ? Are you new to MN?

PilatesHippo · 23/03/2024 12:16

I think the threads should stand to be honest. People post horrible things (probably reflecting their personalities).

hopefully the princess of Wales will not read it and it could stand as a reminder (and shaming) that you should think before you are horrible online. I also think they should be prevented from changing usernames so we know who they are next time they post on something.

MyopicBunny · 23/03/2024 12:25

All I've seen is people saying something must be seriously wrong (which it is).

ArcaneWireless · 23/03/2024 12:29

There were lots of things being touted as seriously wrong.

Most were works of fiction. Some were incredibly nasty.

Popping ‘I hope Kate is ok/I wish her the best’ at the end of a post did not negate the puerile and defamatory outpourings in the paragraphs above it.

Uricon2 · 23/03/2024 12:34

The "I've not seen anything bad/people were only expressing concern" narrative is disingenuous and untrue. Some of us who have been posting on the RF boards recently know that full well and if anyone needs a reminder of what's been said, there is always AS.

How is that more or less deranged than saying William beat up Kate, murdered her while fathering a child with Rose? < saying these things whilst Kate is actually suffering from very poor health so less resilient.

Yes. There were plenty swarming in like piranha when they got a whiff that they might be able to point the finger at RF. Now it’s obvious that they were the ones whose behaviour was off it’s suddenly all shoulder shrugs, blank looks and short memory. Oh and “ why are you all still talking about it?”
