Even now there are vile posters wallowing in the Catherine news. Please don’t give them an outlet.

OP posts:

@MyopicBunny
it's not either or. It's not blasphemy to say that William might have mistresses just like his dad and his granddad before him.

Look at you spreading lies about a woman with cancer and her poor husband whose father is also suffering from cancer. A family facing uncertainty and possibly losing their mum.

Some posters are indeed feasting on dirt, to quote another poster.

MyopicBunny · 23/03/2024 12:54

@Calliopespa I don't have the time to read every single thread on here. The brown nosers are tiresome. 'Spreading lies' 🥱

MyopicBunny · 23/03/2024 12:57

Plus people getting increasingly irate because MNHQ won't do what you want. And they 'must be on the side of the Sussex's' how childish. If you object to freedom of speech then maybe this isn't the website for you.

I don’t object to freedom of speech. And in any case they’ve said it now. I think most of us were assuming that, no matter how much an individual might have enjoyed the prospect of an affair or finger pointing at the RF, the fact that can now be seen to be clearly off beam would presumably have meant even the rumour mongers saw it as redundant chatter now.

I’ve said nothing about the sussexes whatsoever. Didn’t even see the threads.

PuppyPlus · 23/03/2024 13:16

Freedom of speech? Freedom of speech has also limitations when it comes to libel, slander, obscenity, incitement, hate speech and the right to privacy and dignity. MN has no commitment to freedom of speech, it's a forum with rules, if you break them you get deleted or banned. I wonder what MN's decision making process was behind instantly deleting the thread about Meghan causing the Walses grief in the years leading up to the PoW's diagnosis and letting all the threads making up awful lies about William and Kate in the last few months stand. It's biased.

Hi everyone. We understand that the recent news about the Princess of Wales is a sensitive topic for many of us but realistically, we can’t pull all threads discussing the story. Mumsnet is a discussion site first and foremost and as this is a huge global news story, naturally there will be a fair few threads. As is usually the way, things usually settle down in a day or two. In the meantime, do make use of the hide thread option should you prefer not to see something.

If you come across any posts you feel break our guidelines, please report them to us. We’re more than happy to take a look.

Are we no better than Tattle?

Really not on

There were lots of things being touted as seriously wrong.

Most were works of fiction. Some were incredibly nasty.

Popping ‘I hope Kate is ok/I wish her the best’ at the end of a post did not negate the puerile and defamatory outpourings in the paragraphs above it.

You are spot on with that. They can't even be honest and hold to their principles how ever messed up those principles are. Bullies and cowards .

LittleGlowingOblong · 23/03/2024 17:51

myrtleWilson · 23/03/2024 09:44

You may not have sought to know about her cancer but that didn't preclude you adding to gossip and disinformation including the "28th December" tweet, the photoshopping of Kate in the car, and just in last day or so, you heroically reviewed footage of the PPOW engagements at the end of last year to then solemnly pronounce that their relationship had ended/broken down. You were more than happy to add to the social media trash and rumour...

I think that’s very harsh but I’m sorry if my words were offensive to you in some way.

People Saying "pull these threads" about a current news story, and actually thinking ita going to happen are some of the stupidest posts that I've seen on here.

You don't get to dictate what people talk about online.

Tbf, the stupidest things are people resurrecting threads which had died a natural death a week ago.

"Died a death one week ago" lol.

It's only one week.

Zombie threads are threads that are from years ago. Not a week ago.

GreekDogRescue · 29/03/2024 17:06

@ASighMadeOfStone The thread hasn’t ‘died’ if someone is commenting. What an odd thing to say #mumsnetpolice

Edited to add that I won’t ask about your cancer because that’s PRIVATE ( ahem!) and up to you what you want to share, but I wish you the very best

Thanks, doing well. Had my last checkup a week ago and condition has stabilised so chemo meds are doing their job.

All the best @MrsDanversGlidesAgain ♥️♥️ xx

No one had commented for a week, the new post was merely calling people stupid rather than making an intelligent contribution, so it was a very clear attempt to re stir the pot and get the argument going again.
