Even now there are vile posters wallowing in the Catherine news. Please don’t give them an outlet.

OP posts:
SingsongSu · 22/03/2024 20:21

Absolutely!

Sedgwick · 22/03/2024 20:22

Agreed.

AlpineMuesli · 22/03/2024 20:24

I would say don't delete, but collate them all into one place. There is no need for 10 new threads a day.

Fixerupper77 · 22/03/2024 20:25

Fumblebug · 22/03/2024 18:37

Agreed. I wonder if all those gossips and thoughtless speculators are happy with themselves now?

Why? Tney didn’t give her cancer.

This pitchfork finger pointing is almost as tiresome as the gossiping itself.

everyone needs to just shut the fuck up.

derxa · 22/03/2024 20:26

Agree

Fixerupper77 · 22/03/2024 20:27

And just to add that people are now making a point of making those conspiracy threads appear in active because they can’t help but go over there and give a lecture.

WhenWillItAllGetBetter · 22/03/2024 20:27

this is the upshot of marrying into the most famous family in the world.
Of course it’s very worrying/ sad that a young woman has cancer and she has my every sympathy.
But if you become part of the royal family of course people are going to talk about you/ be interested in every aspect of you. The alternative is no interest in the royal family = no royal family. I know which I’d prefer.

A lot more people could do with your concern

DumpedByText · 22/03/2024 20:28

Poor woman can't even be poorly in peace. Hounded into making a statement about her personal business, it's a disgrace!

Baaaaaa · 22/03/2024 20:31

Yep. Needs to stop now. Vultures

TheFancyPoet · 22/03/2024 20:32

yes but people like you gave chance to trolls to make William look a murderer, abductor to his own wife and having affairs

Mydietstartstomorrow · 22/03/2024 20:33

Sashamalia · 22/03/2024 18:42

I completely disagree. People are allowed to talk about someone's illness.

So an individual should be hounded by the public and media to disclose her personal health details to satisfy your curiosity?? You and all the other speculators and vultures should be ashamed of yourselves. You’re a disgrace

WisteriaLodge · 22/03/2024 20:34

Uricon2 · 22/03/2024 19:03

I don't think I can actually stomach some of the people who have made a certain type of post over the last few weeks doing a hypocritical reverse ferret or still worse, carrying on on the speculation under the guise of "CARING".

So yeah, with @MaturingCheeseball on this.

Edited

Agreed, I hope those vile posters feel fucking guilty after the things that they said, disgraceful

willWillSmithsmith · 22/03/2024 20:37

Fumblebug · 22/03/2024 18:37

They’re ecstatic with themselves. They think they’re just the best. Glad I don’t know anyone like them in real life.

Quizine · 22/03/2024 20:37

There will be gossip, speculation etc. no matter what. This is big news as reported everywhere, so it is inevitable that people want to know more and discuss it.
Shutting down talk is not going to stop it. MN is not the centre of the universe regarding troll and insensitive posting either, this is Social Media today and is unstoppable.

They probably get warned that are nasty, pathetic people out there who are only happy when they’re being vile.

tillytoodles1 · 22/03/2024 20:42

Can't you put them all in the Royal Family thread, then only people who want to read them can see them.

SmallistChild · 22/03/2024 20:42

I have to say I have been on MN many years. It feels the most toxic it ever has been to me at the moment. Not only in relation to Catherine, the whole Christian Horner thing, Israel. I feel ss if there is a lot of posters wanting an argument. It is saf this site has come to this.

Maybe moderators need to be a bit stricter. I have had threads deleted for trying to get some feedback on my sisters website she created, after an absolutely horrendous birth experience, yet these nasty threads are allowed. I am certainly using the site less often. It seems to have lost its way. It is very sad as intelligent discussion no longer seems to exist.

colouringindoors · 22/03/2024 20:42

seriously @mumsnet I've counted 12 threads in the Royal Family section alone. Chat, In the Newshave loads too.
Enough now.

DrunkenElephant · 22/03/2024 20:43

eise · 22/03/2024 20:20

She's hardly on mumsnet reading these posts.

It’s part of a bigger picture though, isn’t it?

The gutter press, Twitter, forums like this speculating and demanding answers have all had a part to play. They’ve all whipped up the baying mob that have been hounding the PoW.

@MNHQ pull the threads.

trekking1 · 22/03/2024 20:44

I don't know what drugs you're on op, but the whole point of an online forum is that you can discuss anything and everything on it. Why should one person be exempt from that just because they are in the royal family

Fixerupper77 · 22/03/2024 20:45

Mumsnet also exists to make money.

they will be making loads from all these website hits.

StrawberryTartIet · 22/03/2024 20:46

@MNHQ agree

CALLI0PE · 22/03/2024 20:46

Pastachocolate · 22/03/2024 18:40

One thread possibly under Royal family ifvv bc there has to be one, maybe one under Mental Health if blanket coverage affects individuals already affected by MH or cancer themselves.

Otherwise threads to go. This is someone’s private business.

This , please pull all the rest .

GreekDogRescue · 22/03/2024 20:48

TBH, all the threads are concerned and respectful.
This is the only one which is in any way offensive and ghoulish.
Don’t add to the drama OP.

I don’t really understand your message.

People are interested in the royal family, this is major royal family news and obviously has been for week.
If people stop being interested in them then the institution will fall. They are not better than us, but they do need us to gossip about them
