Even now there are vile posters wallowing in the Catherine news. Please don’t give them an outlet.

OP posts:
TicketyBoo11 · 22/03/2024 19:09

Hear Hear…lead the way Admins, there’s some real horrible posting going on. Pull them…

Rowansiskin · 22/03/2024 19:11

I already called for a thread a week or so ago to be pulled - MN declined to do so. Maybe they’ll listen if enough people are saying the same thing.

ArcaneWireless · 22/03/2024 19:12

I am all for this.

I know clicks assist revenue but Mon now.

This is not what MN is about.

Salemforcuddles · 22/03/2024 19:13

And ban some twats

I reported one too. MN ignored the request.

Clearly not By Parents for Parents.

MummyJ12 · 22/03/2024 19:17

Agree @MNHQ do the right thing. This platform is getting toxic and you need to sort.

SloaneStreetVandal · 22/03/2024 19:22

I agree. In the circumstances all the speculation/conspiracy theory threads should now be pulled.

Most families (and at the end of the day, that's what the royals are, a family) are affected by cancer, and it's devastating impact, at some point.

Viviennemary · 22/03/2024 19:27

I just heard this in the 6.35 news, which was extended. And they said they would be giving out more updates. In view of this heavy coverage it's totally unrealistic to expect people not to discuss it.

I reported a thread too. Nothing was done.

OneHeartySnail · 22/03/2024 19:35

I say let them stand. Evidence of what has been posted and what MNHQ has been happy to have posted

Seizethedog · 22/03/2024 19:35

Yes, please pull all the threads. They are in very poor taste.

OneHeartySnail · 22/03/2024 19:39

Very poor taste, and allowed by MNHQ

Speakeasy22 · 22/03/2024 19:40

@MNHQ Agree with posters asking to pull the threads. Really pandering to the depths otherwise. Do anything you can to stop the intrusion.

MaMisled · 22/03/2024 19:40

I absolutely agree. Please show some respect. Enough is enough.

Discuss it, yes, but there were 17 threads in active at one point - people clearly weren't even making a cursory check for existing threads, in their ghoulish desire to 'break the news' on here.

OneHeartySnail · 22/03/2024 19:45

Let them stand. People posted and MNHQ allowed it. Let them stand by those decisions

musthorse · 22/03/2024 19:45

Abouttimeforanamechange · 22/03/2024 18:55

I agree. All the conspiracy threads should have been pulled long ago, as a pp said, it was bullying plain and simple. Now this. Just stop it.

I find it amazing that disgusting stuff is left up about certain members of the Royal Family yet people cry boo hoo if they feel slighted by someone in the forum.

OneHeartySnail · 22/03/2024 19:46

And MNHQ were happy with that

PeopleAreWeird · 22/03/2024 19:46

Agreed! They should all be pulled !!!!!

MrsKeats · 22/03/2024 19:46

Agreed.
All this horrible stuff must be adding to the stress.

MyopicBunny · 22/03/2024 20:16

You can't shut down a discussion about a very prominent person in the UK having an illness. There is such a thing as freedom of speech.

Whenever other famous people get ill people talk about it, why is this different? Do you think the royal family are gods or something?

There is nobody who would have wished this on Kate.

eise · 22/03/2024 20:20

Ratsoffasinkingsauage · 22/03/2024 18:36

Seconded. This board has become toxic. I’d pull the whole thing.

It's always been toxic, people were insulting Meghan when she was suffering from postpartum - none of the threads were ever pulled

Devonshiregal · 22/03/2024 20:20

Pastachocolate · 22/03/2024 18:40

One thread possibly under Royal family ifvv bc there has to be one, maybe one under Mental Health if blanket coverage affects individuals already affected by MH or cancer themselves.

Otherwise threads to go. This is someone’s private business.

I literally don’t care whether there are posts or not. Feel sympathy for them of course. But isn’t the whole entire point of mumsnet to talk about personal things? And talking about someone famous is totally normal on here - why is this any different? I mean it’s not like people are saying much more than oohh how sad or oohh she gets better treatment than us (which is true)

eise · 22/03/2024 20:20

MrsKeats · 22/03/2024 19:46

Agreed.

She's hardly on mumsnet reading these posts.

RoseMarigoldViolet · 22/03/2024 20:21

Agree. Pull the threads.
Let’s respect her privacy.
