Breaking news.

OP posts:
Delawear · 22/03/2024 18:27

I am not a fan of the royals but they have as much right to medical privacy as anyone else. I hope Kate recovers well and am dismayed that she felt she had to make this statement.

fightingthedogforadonut · 22/03/2024 18:27

Can't imagine how William must be feeling - his wife and his Dad both sick. My heart goes out to all of them.

My DS1 has a GMB4 and the NHS have been wonderful, cannot fault them at all.

She hasn't been hounded. She has security guards and homes where she can live in peace and quiet.

Why would she be worried about comments from strangers on social media and the internet?

RichardsGear · 22/03/2024 18:28

She'll still not get any peace. The posts will start up about how she should really disclose exactly what type of cancer it is because she needs to raise awareness or because her life is funded by us or because it'll just be published in the foreign press anyway or whatever other ridiculous reason people can make up.
I am very much a republican but I feel really sorry for the woman and her family.

Scottishshortbread11877 · 22/03/2024 18:28

@Doseofreality - explain why Steve jobs died of cance

Gowlett · 22/03/2024 18:28

I’m bursting into tears, here.
How awful for her. It’s terrible.

Village gossip!!!

Notinthemood12 · 22/03/2024 18:28

I’ll be praying for her full recovery, poor woman. I don’t take much interest in the royals usually but i like her and William and want the best for them as anyone would. Horrible shock for them

StillCreatingAName · 22/03/2024 18:26

Come on MN, please pull these threads now.

Why on earth would they do that, when people posting on this site is their life blood? They did not pull all the countless distasteful threads about Meghan, for the same reason.

Doseofreality · 22/03/2024 18:19

The treatment for the cancer that the Royals get is special, Joe Public would have to wait weeks for tests.

Cancer is cancer, privileged people have options regarding their treatment. That is a fact. Kate won’t be in a postcode lottery for meds.

The POW still had to wait between surgery and being able to start chemotherapy treatment the same as NHS patients. Chemotherapy is the same whether you are treated privately or on the NHS. There is no special one, the side effects are the same.🙄

SpongeBobSquarePantaloons · 22/03/2024 18:29

I hope all the people who made up stupid conspiracy theories feel bad now.

GrouchyKiwi · 22/03/2024 18:29

Poor woman. I hope she does get the space she needs now to recover, and everyone who posted revolting speculation should be hanging their heads in shame.

Brabican · 22/03/2024 18:29

You are far more likely to be given the opportunity to trial new treatments on the NHS. Some posters on here are so unkind. She is a mother with young children. I feel ashamed of posters on here who turn on a mother with cancer because she is royal.

CissOff · 22/03/2024 18:29

I feel livid towards the vultures that have forced her to share this news. Shame on them.

It was clearly something serious, why couldn’t people leave the poor woman alone 🤬

The next load of speculation will be ‘what cancer is it…?’ So they can keep up the drama and click bait, giving little thought to how the salacious details over recovery rates and the likes could end up being read by her children.

I genuinely hope she makes a full and fast recovery. In private.

PeopleAreWeird · 22/03/2024 18:29

I truly hope all the people that ‘enjoyed’ the conspiracy theory bullshit are ashamed of themselves !!!!

Including alot you!

Willmafrockfit · 22/03/2024 18:30

poor family

They won't though because they have no shame.

pelargoniums · 22/03/2024 18:30

How thoroughly awful for her. I hope she’s been protected from or has been able to ignore the horrendous hounding she received; what a shame she had to make a statement – but perhaps she would have done anyway. Hopefully she’ll be left alone now.

Doseofreality · 22/03/2024 18:31

Runnerinthenight · 22/03/2024 18:26

Go away and hang your head in shame!!

Why?

For stating a fact. She will be getting the best of the best treatment.
it’s a fact that private cancer treatment gives you options that aren’t available on the NHS.
Yes, it’s shit that she has cancer, but if you are going to get cancer you want to be able to access the care she is able to.

You can think poor Kate but still think she is extremely privileged to have the best team around her possible. They are not exclusive. There’s no shame to be found in that.

I find the hysterical gushing rather disturbing.

OP posts:
merrymelodies · 22/03/2024 18:31

Let's hope that she recovers! OMG, her family... the children especially 💔

WatchOutMissMarpleIsAbout · 22/03/2024 18:31

Not the same but when I was seeing my rheumatologist privately he told me to go on the nhs as I could get better drugs.

i sincerely hope the horrible comments about the Wales’s now stop but i doubt it.

caringcarer · 22/03/2024 18:31

It's very sad news for Princess Catherine and her whole family. Hopefully the treatment will be successful and the media will back off and leave her to get the treatment she needs in peace. I think the DC will be on school holidays from today.

DrJoanAllenby · 22/03/2024 18:31

As an aside perhaps more people will be interested in the cancer vaccines

www.gov.uk/government/news/major-agreement-to-deliver-new-cancer-vaccine-trials

oprahwindsock · 22/03/2024 18:32

They should as a family, be left alone, we dont need to see them. It's a huge thing having to deal with getting a cancer diagnosis especially when you have young children.

I wish her well.
