Breaking news.

It's truly awful news. So young and with primary school age children. Perhaps it would have been better to have announced it once it was diagnosed. It would have prevented so much speculation and gossip.

Why do people say this! Does it matter? My mum has had cancer twice and luckily had fairly swift treatment.
It’s not her choice to have cancer, but she’s got it and is receiving treatment! Enough is enough! The woman has had a whole lot of speculation about her life and criticisms for weeks without a backhander criticism like this.

So sorry that she is going through this. Cancer is a dreadful disease. Hope all and sundry can shut up now.

If you are worried about treatment, take out private health cover and if you're unlucky enough to get cancer, you can get 'Royal' treatment too.

Or better still, just be quiet.

I am sure you meant well but comments like this fuel conspiracy theories. She may well be very poorly but she has disclosed what she wants to and speculation is just unnecessary. It's bad enough she was put in a position to declare this to the world she now doesn't need people debating how bad it is and how long she has left

I think it’s likely that she wanted to keep it private like Charles until a treatment plan was in place, but given it’s chemo, I’m thinking it’s probably had to come out.

Probably because she knew there would be some bitches moaning about her taking up a place from someone who couldn't pay. She can't win can she.

Any cancer of the abdominal region has the capacity to spread because it’s a region full of places to go to. And you’re having a moan about her royal treatment?? Cancer does not discriminate. Unfortunately our NHS is at breaking point so they won’t. I think that’s what the previous poster means.

I agree @ToasterChic - that user is not someone who works in cancer care. I can tell a mile off. If you work in oncology you know that there are far too many factors at play for any sort of colloquial assumptions.

For fucks sake can she have at least a few days to process the news herself and to her children before facing the world with it? The demands people make on her is unbelievable.

Is it an advantage to have the media and thousands of people speculating and gossiping incessantly whilst you try to recover from major surgery and process a cancer diagnosis? The hounding has been a disgrace. I'm Irish with limited interest in royal matters but the slavering by so many about what might be happening is beyond belief.

It was clear a significant health or personal issue was underway.

Most people who work in health care know not to allude to any sort of diagnosis or prognosis without analysis of diagnostics tests.
