Breaking news.

The video was very upsetting, hopefully she makes a good recovery and it was caught early. If anything it just shows that the conspiracy theorists are arseholes.

Vespanest · 22/03/2024 18:18

imagine just wanting time for your children to process this and having to deal with what she has had over the last few weeks.

PrettyFlyforaMaiTai · 22/03/2024 18:18

She sounded like she was struggling to keep herself composed. I hope that she wanted to make this announcement and didn’t have her hand forced in the matter due to media speculation and pressure.

Doseofreality · 22/03/2024 18:19

charliefair · 22/03/2024 18:11

She’s at an advantage over anyone in a similar position having NHS treatment.

Yeah that royal cancer is so special Hmm

The treatment for the cancer that the Royals get is special, Joe Public would have to wait weeks for tests.

Cancer is cancer, privileged people have options regarding their treatment. That is a fact. Kate won’t be in a postcode lottery for meds.

We’re fucking awful, humans. Our collective narcissism has peaked. We’ve jumped the shark.

She was utterly dehumanised, mocked, and bullied throughout what is the lowest time of her life.
Honestly, bless her in abundance. I really hope she makes a full recovery.

Oh name calling for stating a fact , what a lovely individual you are.

Your comment @Doseofreality is so ironic!

Right back at you

charliefair · 22/03/2024 18:19

@woahboy

It's true though. She will be at the front of every queue and will 100% get the BEST cancer specialists. She will never see a public ward

She still has fucking cancer. Of course she won't be in a public ward, but do you really think the chemo is any different? They will have a special potion made up just for her? Being first in line means fuck all with cancer.

This seems like more dodgy speculation to me, but now with a cancer flavour

grinandslothit · 22/03/2024 18:20

The announcement made me cry.

The media and people have been so cruel to her with all the nonsense speculations about her. I truly hope they do now shut their traps about her.

TinkerbellsAssistant · 22/03/2024 18:20

I work in cancer support… chemo is rarely preventative, she’s significantly poorly.

That is not true.
Maybe your work hasn't covered this?

Many treatments are now adjuvant therapy. They are used to prevent further cancer even when nothing has shown up as having spread beyond the primary site.

BellaVita · 22/03/2024 18:20

Hope everyone is happy with themselves now. Absolutely atrocious the way she has been hounded.

TheFormidableMrsC · 22/03/2024 18:20

@Doseofreality What an utterly vile comment. I had my treatment on the NHS and cannot fault it. She has zero advantage over anybody. What a fucking stupid thing to say.

Rosa · 22/03/2024 18:20

Nomdejeur · 22/03/2024 18:18

People should be ashamed of their behaviour surrounding her withdrawal from the public eye. People on here, speculating and gossiping. Rumours of affairs. Pathetic.

Absolutley that so every one of you in these past months who has made horrible comments hang your heads in shame .... Go and cancel your comments and have a think about how horrible you have been !

HanaJane · 22/03/2024 18:20

Hope people who have hounded her with ridiculous conspiracy theories feel ashamed of themselves now, poor woman forced to make a statement about her health in front of cameras when she should be resting and spending time with her family

BigWillyLittleTodger · 22/03/2024 18:21

KickboxingWanker · 22/03/2024 18:12

This is the first and last time that I will post on any thread re Kate.
hope everyone who has speculated, made up conspiracy theories, laughed, mocked etc hang their heads in shame.
leave the poor women alone. Hope she makes a speedy recovery.

Couldn’t of said it better myself. It was also very interesting that the BBC showed the farm shop video and said Kate and William were spotted , so that confirms it was them @severalwhippets .

DJSteves · 22/03/2024 18:21

Doesn't matter how much money you have Chemo is horrendous. Strips away your dignity and takes over everything.

PastorCarrBonarra · 22/03/2024 18:21

What a thing to be going through! Dreadful. She seemed on the verge of tears during her statement but she did so well to finish it. It’s a shame it came to that, her hand was forced, but she probably couldn’t bear to know that William was being framed as an abuser/the father of Rose’s twins etc.

my cancer care through the nhs has been excellent. The surgeons saved my life. Colon Tumor found on the Friday, operation on the Saturday. Chemotherapy for cells started 8 weeks later. Very grateful. I’m sure I would have had the same treatment private. Just better food and a nice private room.

DillDanding · 22/03/2024 18:21

Monarchist or not, I don’t think there’s anyone that didn’t hear this news and feel sad for her. And yet the nasty comments and name-calling still proliferate on MN.

This is true. I wonder why she didn't go via the NHS for her chemo.

bluefrog11 · 22/03/2024 18:21

@ToasterChic I’m just being realistic, sorry! Most people who work in the health sector are. Stats for different cancers are freely available online. Patients are always given a realistic prognosis. She’ll get the best possible care and she’s a healthy young woman so hopefully she’ll be okay.

WilmaFlintstone1 · 22/03/2024 18:22

Who she has access to is immaterial, she has cancer and that’s crap for anyone.

Wishing her well,

Not necessarily. My working class mother in law was diagnosed with breast cancer about 20 years ago, in a post industrial, service strapped area of the country. She got treatment and is still going strong.

Well she can't compete with you can she. You are on a completely different level.
