The royal family

Do the Royal Family just think we are really really stupid?

Just that really. From Harry’s car chase to Prince Andrew being at a Pizza Express kid’s party.

And now we’re supposed to believe that the country’s biggest PR machine in the middle of a media storm just let Prince William take a casual Mothers Day pic on his iPhone, let the missus edit it and then post it to the world?

😒

Yes. Centuries of unearned privilege can have that effect.

Exactly this.

I just find the whole thing so odd. The mail is saying the palace is saying she will be back after Easter. That’s two weeks away. But doesn’t wish her face to be seen right now.

that photo in the car, not one person else saw them, no one else took a pic on their journey, no member of the public. Not stopped at traffic lights, the convoy, nothing. Only one lone photographer was so close he could get that pic of Kate turning away. Which makes me think she got in the car, a game photographer took the image, and she got right back out again.

its at least 8 weeks since surgery, she’s back in 2 apparently; and doesn’t wish her face to be seen. Thats just odd. That’s not about privacy at this stage, it makes no logical sense.

and that’s why there is so much speculation, as it makes no sense. Everyone is trying to make sense of something that makes no sense.

You must be onto something!

The photographer has explained exactly where he took the photo - it was opposite 39 Datchet High Street, a public road a good mile away from any of the gates into Windsor Castle, and on the way to the M4 to drive into Central London (clearly the photographer had a good idea of what route they take). The location he gave matches the background of the this picture he took.

So your theory is not remotely likely.

Delatron · 13/03/2024 07:25

After Easter doesn’t really mean the day after does it? Just means that’s the earliest. Could be weeks after Easter and that’s still ‘after Easter’

BobnLen · 13/03/2024 07:31

She has probably just been on steroids for whatever was wrong and desperately hoping she is more back to normal by Easter, don't they alter the look of your face which would explain the extreme measures taken to avoid her face being seen.

WatchOutMissMarpleIsAbout · 13/03/2024 07:56

I’m currently on steroids and I don’t recognise myself. It’s very disconcerting tbh.

If she's so ill, she can't even walk to church on Easter Sunday with her children, 4 months after surgery, then things will really blow up. Begs the question of how she managed to a) do extensive photoshop at a computer and b) why her face looked perfectly fine in the Mother's Day photo. Either she didn't do the photoshopping, so theyve blamed her for something she didn't do and either made her lie or put out a statement without her permission, or they have let her superimpose an entirely different head on a picture and just sent it out to news agencies without any due diligence. Both of those are disastrous, but will only blow over if shevturns up at Easter smiling and waving as usual with the rest of the Royals.

Yes, but if that's the case, the Mother's Day photo really was materially altered and that's not Ok.

I have every support for her staying away until she's fully recovered. That's what they should have done. For me the story is entirely about the deception, her health is her business.

crumblingschools · 13/03/2024 08:03

@RoyalDramaLlama you could be well enough to sit at home doing things on a computer but not well enough to walk about and sit on an uncomfortable wooden pew

Why is everyone going on about her being a victim in all this?

She could have edited the pic whilst in bed. Those more into pic editing say it was probably done by someone with more experience than Kate though. She could have given the go ahead of the editing or had a friend do it, hence taking the blame.

When Meghan talked about control in the Palace, people didn't believe her, but now apparently Kate is being held against her will, being made to take mother's days pics, being made to take the blame for editing it etc.....

I remember on a couple of interviews Kate speaking over William and thinking the Palace won't like that.
Now she's meant to be some victim who can't say no to taking a pic of She wasn't well enough/didn't want to.

How do you know no one saw them? Was it reported somewhere?

Serenster · 13/03/2024 08:11

And not one other person saw them?

How do you know they didn’t? And, equally, how would you hear about it if they did?

People who live and work around Windsor and Kensington Palace see royals in cars all the time. Do you imagine they are all immediately on the phone to the Daily Mail saying “ Ooh, I saw royals going past me today?” Or live-streaming it on instagram?

WibblyWobblyJane · 13/03/2024 08:13

Meghan traveled on several private/personal trips during the time she described having been under their control.

It was just confusing. No doubt she felt under their control but she said they held her passport.

It will be interesting when she writes her memoir.

2dogsandabudgie · 13/03/2024 08:14

Severalwhippets - All those photos show is RH talking to PW in a noisy place, so she has to lean in close to talk to him. She is not kissing him, his head is to the side.

A poster here said they saw William recently. If you did not happen upon the thread it was easy to miss.

I would be unlikely to even notice them or anyone when I’m going about my normal daily activities.

Jacopo · 13/03/2024 08:21

If that was Catherine in the car with William, she does NOT have steroid face; her high cheekbone is clearly visible, and the image is sufficiently like her normal three-quarters profile for that twitter thread superimposing the same pose from the Somme commemoration event to be quite convincing. (I don’t believe that twitter thread though).

And how very random that the shape of one’s face is exactly the same as the shape of …the same person’s face.

Jacopo · 13/03/2024 08:25

I do think the UK press are deliberately turning on W and K. The article on Rose Hanbury in the Independent two days ago is a case in point. There is no reason for that to have been published just now - they are stirring the pot for their own reasons.

And did anyone else notice at the top of the Independent article the accompanying video of Rose Hanbury entering a Royal Banquet recently, partnered up with - guess who? Sarah Vine.

wordler · 13/03/2024 08:27

FFS - that’s a pic from 2017 when he went on a lads ski trip and was captured drunk and dancing in a bar - the woman was named by a tabloid and her boyfriend was also there and named. It was definitely not Rose Hanbury.

Did you even read that article you posted it was complete made up nonsense by a site known for posting outrageous made up gossip.

It really is most suspicious isn't it? Photos of Kate, where she looks just like....... Kate 👀There must be more to it. I'm sure, definitely.

Yes, I agree - the point I was making is that I don’t think she has steroid face, her profile looks normal.

To answer the question in the OP: does the royal family think we’re stupid?

Yes, probably! If these threads are anything to go by, they probably think you’re very stupid indeed.

Luckily the raving loonies seem to be a small minority concentrated on a few threads, however. There was an article about Kate in the Telegraph online yesterday. When I last looked it had attracted about 3000 comments, pretty all saying that the media and online trolls were crazy and that we should be leaving Kate alone.

My answer to “Does the royal family think we are stupid?”

I most certainly hope they recognize it.
