Imagine using the victims of a school shooting for attention and PR. There seem to be no depths to which this pair will not sink

Meghan and Harry sing happy birthday to school shooting victim family

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle make a surprise visit to Uvalde, Texas, to support the family of Irma Garcia, a teacher killed in the 2022 school shooting.

do you think that about all the other royals who visit people in other similar circumstances and publicise very bit of it? Of course you don't.

love how you profess to know my thoughts 🤣

”other” royals don’t go on fucking worldwide privacy tours, therein lies the difference

That's heartbreaking and horrifying in equal measure, @AliceOlive . I'm sorry you went through all that so young, and I am so, so sorry you lost your brother. 💐

All I think when I look at it is that Meghan doesn't look much like Meghan any more. She's a beautiful woman, she really doesn't need to mess with her face.

Her face looks completely different. Long sharp chin and her hairline seems to be receding .

AliceOlive · 10/03/2024 14:32

Thank you @AlbertoDilemma honestly I feel a little 🫤 about sharing it in such a negative space. But hard not to feel for those families who suffered great tragedy then had strangers getting on jets to make themselves part of the story.

Yes the Kate hate threads with all their faux innocent speculation have been awful.

The RF do it all the time. And release pics themselves.

The only time I can think of where a member of the Royal Family has visited someone’s home like this was when William visited Deborah James at home to present her with her damehood shortly before her death. Which was (a) not a surprise - as she explained, it was arranged in advance, giving them time to clean and tidy; (b) was something he would have done anyway since he hands out honours at investiture ceremonies, but she was too ill to make one; and (c) he is patron of the Royal Marsden - a charity Deborah of which was a passionate supporter. Also, it was Deborah and not the Palace who publicised the event and released her pictures - I presume if she had wanted to keep the photos of the visit private, she absolutely could have.

Otherwise Royals have turned up at pre-arranged NHS charity functions to thank the attendees, and have taken part in already happening charity events (William turning up to publicise a mother’s charity walk to raise money for teenage mental health, leading to a surge in donations, for example). Again, those events are supporting the charities and thanking others, not themselves.

Ah that’s interesting.

Thank you for clarifying.

H&M are not working royals. personally I don't see what is wrong with the visit.
its almost like people like the op search out stuff to be out raged about.

motheronthedancefloor · 10/03/2024 15:04

Harry never looks truly comfortable with his new role. I bet he has regrets regarding his departure and possibly his marriage. The man is trapped, and he's realising it. He is/was an angry vulnerable man, taken advantage of by Meghan. She is constantly on the alert for cameras, you can even see her looking for it at times. She's ever the actress. There's little that is genuine about her, even her love for Harry seems fake to me. Every time I hear 'my love', I want to barf.

Wasntmeanttobelikethis · 10/03/2024 15:06

Didn’t the late Princess of Wales visit people in their homes? And have photos taken and released?
I think Meghan ( and no, I haven’t met her) likes to replicate what Diana did
And I find it a bit odd Harry is usually in the background, with palm placed on his heart and wearing a meaningful ( meaningless) bracelet
Get used to it everyone; I’m afraid they’re on the offensive

Because it's random that two people just rock up to a home of bereaved people and have a bunch of photographs taken, and share a cake with a family tragedy - the RF support different causes and help lots of charities, and are doing their job - H&M are exploiting people to raise their profile

Kate Middleton rocked up with cameras and video to Sarah Everards vigil. She wasn't invited either.

They all do PR. Nothing wrong with PR.

Actually, she didn't.

The footage of her was taken by a member of the public who was there on their phone. Catherine went with a single female PO. It wasn't PR and she didn't speak publicly about it.

Serenster · 10/03/2024 15:50

She didn't attend the vigil at all. The vigil was held at night. Kate walked to the bandstand memorial site during the day, and stood for a few seconds before walking off. She was filmed by a member of the public on their phone as she did so. (You can hear an audible “F*ck” from the person filming on the sound footage of the video, so the idea it was a professional cameraman is hilarious 😆).

Firstly it was a public vigil, secondly she is part of the royal family, supporting king and country, thirdly its part of her job as a senior royal family member yo represent the RF - had she gone over to Sarah Everards parents house, took photographs and sang happy birthday with a cake now that would have been a very different situation

AliceOlive · 10/03/2024 15:52

We really can’t compare celebrities with working royals. One hires their own PR to promote themselves. The other becomes part of a machine either at birth or when they fall in love and marry into it.

Hopefully the royals have some say in what they do. But celebrities 100% have control over their own PR.

LadyWhitwell · 10/03/2024 15:53

The family in Uvalde took the photos and posted them on social media. Harry didn't use his phone camera or share the photos from his phone.

No she didn’t, it was a private visit, there was no camera man or videographer with her, people took pics of her, and posted them, but you can even see it’s a private visit from the clearly phone photos taken.
