Imagine using the victims of a school shooting for attention and PR. There seem to be no depths to which this pair will not sink

Meghan and Harry sing happy birthday to school shooting victim family

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle make a surprise visit to Uvalde, Texas, to support the family of Irma Garcia, a teacher killed in the 2022 school shooting.

Good to hear you’ll start looking at double standards, maybe you’ll get better at spotting meghan’s hypocrisy.

But then again, maybe not, after hearing you wax lyrical about sussex squad.

I shall ask you politely to not make personal attacks or goading remarks to be. Failing that, please don't engage with me if you can't. Thanks.

BemusedAmerican · 10/03/2024 10:43

California has been hit with wild fires, floods, unusually heavy snow... M & H are residents of California yet are never seen raising aware awareness of the wildlife affected by the fires, people made homeless by the weather, etc. in their home state.

And let's not mention the awful behaviour linked to their African charity

No personal attack in there, just a simple response to yours around double standards.

And please refer back to your own post for the waxing lyrical about Sussex squad.

Failing that maybe don’t engage with discussion forums if you don’t like to be challenged.

Yes what’s happening with African Parks? Has Harry simply gotten away with it? He’s managed to use the media ever so well in getting the real
stories buried

BemusedAmerican · 10/03/2024 11:07

Yes, oddly African Parks has gone quiet. My theory, completely unsubstantiated as I have no media connections and do not live in the UK, is that H worked out a deal when he won that media case. A certain number of positive stories, certain topics not discussed and he accepts less cash in damages. Or even no cash in exchange for the positive PR. This is pure conjecture on my part, which I freely admit, and can be ignored and disregarded.

tothelefttotheleft · 10/03/2024 11:30

@Lifebeganat50

"Gingerkittykat
Maybe they actually care about the victims of a horrible school shooting and their families.

The people they visited seem happy about it!

If it was about caring, there would be no photos"

You could say the exact same thing about the royal family?!

Sadly that does sound like it has a grain of truth in it. I hope those affected by the African Parks atrocities do get justice, and soon. So easy to silence and evade when someone is that wealthy and well connected.

ChVrches · 10/03/2024 11:45

I'm not British but I do understand that the Royal Family attend many public gatherings and people turn out to see them. The Sussexes are not royal though and it seems a bit odd. I had a friend who died tragically and her sister is still bereft to this day and posts a great deal about her sister especially with things that really remind her of her sister eg certain concerts they used to go to. Birthdays hit her especially hard and she posts photos of her and her two dead sisters. Occasions like this sometimes bring home the loss even more. I'm not sure I would want a celebrity turning up on the doorstep - why would that person think they make my loss easier to bear? It's just odd.

Samcro · 10/03/2024 11:50

seems like a nice thing to do. seeing the lad shared the photos, he must have been pleased.

Chupacabara · 10/03/2024 12:03

Rev Richard Cole describing the day his partner David died to the Radio Times, said: “I was mad and went to get L’Occitane hand cream for the nurses. I was buying lavish amounts of shea butter hand cream to thank them (when my husband died)…grief makes you mad’’

Grief does funny things to people, can make them feel indebted and grateful for things they shouldn’t. Hope they weren’t taking advantage of a vulnerable grieving person.

mythbuster88 · 10/03/2024 12:07

When are people (small in number but persistent) going to get over the fact that Harry married a beautiful, capable bi-racial woman who is not influenced by the antics of the keyboard warriors who spend their entire existence obsessing over her, while she simply and happily is getting on with life?

Chupacabara · 10/03/2024 12:14

When are people (small in number but persistent) going to get over the fact that no one cares that Harry married a bi-racial woman. It’s so strange they keep trying to make any legitimate criticism levelled at Harry about racism. The general public won’t be influenced by the antics of the keyboard warriors who spend their entire existence obsessing over her being biracial. Harry should be accountable over African Parks, and should be called out for this ghoulish distasteful photo op.

No one gives a shit honestly. They are judged for their actions. Both of them.

Literally no one cares who he married!! What people can't abide is their behaviours and manipulative behaviours, lies and bullying! Its so disrespectful of them to use other people's grief, charity, good will, hard work for this pair of clowns to muscle in on these occasions, take a load of PR money etc and find the next bandwagon to jump on
Literally has nothing to do with how pretty she is/isn't or her race/races ... none whatsoever 🙄 stop with the racism ... look at their behaviours

Yet one of the top members of the police in the UK would disagree with you. Of course that doesn't suit the narrative on here and is ignored.

I don’t believe the ‘top members of the police’ would disagree with me, Harry and Meghan should be called out for exploiting vulnerable grieving people just for a pr photo op, and Harry should be accountable for the African Parks atrocities.

Agree with you.

It probably makes Meghan very sad that her ardent admirers are so obsessed with the colour of her skin. The pushing of the constructed narratives around that distract from the issues at hand, exploitation of grief is repugnant and immoral. And the African Park atrocities are devastatingly horrific. Strange how those exploited and brutalised POC don’t invoke the same feelings of righteous fury. They are the true victims, and they are the ones that could do with the unwavering support and raising of awareness.

Roussette · 10/03/2024 13:14

Pushtart · 10/03/2024 10:30

do you think that about all the other royals who visit people in other similar circumstances and publicise very bit of it? Of course you don't.

^^ This

The RF do it all the time. And release pics themselves.

Chupacabara · 10/03/2024 13:25

Comparison examples are weak arguments. As they are not directly related to the topic therefore the reasoning factor is tenuous at best. Such arguments are usually opinion based, ambiguous and superfluous. And therefore of no real value.

@Gottseidank thank you for shining a light on grief exploitation. I also hope the African Park victims get justice soon. Seems to be so easy to marginalise POC in this way. Truly frightening.

I’m so sorry for the loss of your dear brother, and to read about your experience💐

I can also relate to having grief exploited, and this is why I felt compelled to post on this thread.

AliceOlive · 10/03/2024 14:13

@Chupacabara 💐

AliceOlive · 10/03/2024 14:14

Given that it is predictable that many will see it as the exploitation of grief, why isn’t anyone cluing H&M into it?
