Why did they even post a statement. Princess Anne didn't or any of the other royals. Only the King. Never miss a chance for publicity. Shameful IMHO.

Why on earth would anyone think that Harry and Meghan would be told anything confidential? No one knows what goes on behind the scenes as per reports of Meghan and Harry individually contacting Kate and William now. However there was no need for their public statement to include the bit about they hope Kate can recover IN PRIVATE. The pair of them are the number one source for tattle telling to the world the private business of their family. There is always a sting in the tail with the Sussexes.

I agree . I imagine Sophie , Zara etc have all sent love and best wishes to Catherine but didn’t feel it necessary to make it known .
Maybe Meghan could send a basket of ARO products ? Posting a photo of herself packing it of course .

I agree it's weird that they announced their message of support like they are in a group with Biden / Trudeau / Sunak / Macron etc. It makes them look even less a part of the family. But I guess it's an opportunity to get their names in the paper so maybe that's a win 🤮

Maybe because they have no other way to get their message through to them, even if he did try to get a private message through to them via another family member, they have probably said 'not likely mate, we are not passing on any messages from you and your wife, it won't be welcome'.

I do think Harry will be genuinely upset, I doubt Meghan gives a damm about anything except how it affects her..

I also agree. I think it is their go to default position. How does it impact them and what do they need to do to enhance their reputation. So they make it about them.

clearly all thr other royals have passed on their best wishes. Not one has publicly made a pr statement, inc the king. It is highly distasteful when you think about it. They rush to get it out. Make it clear they didn’t know. It’s all about them. Even when Charles was announced, Harry was on the first flight out, making everything a lot worse, as they notified the paps and media so he could be seen on departure and landing.

however i think we should be past the stage of expecting anything like respectful selfless behaviour from them.

I think that’s a good theory. But I’m sure they have a way to contact KP.

I don’t think they have much choice with the statement, they didn’t have a neutral position, send equals self promotion and don’t send equals callous. Its the joys of them becoming estranged, which was their decision.

Just a bit weird to sit back and not offer any public support in the period when W+K were getting trashed in the press. Especially when the online bullying thing Meghan did was a great opportunity - but afaik she only referred to her own experience.
Yet now that W+K are back in favour, there's a public announcement.

Not interested in alleged "sources" unless they're named, but have to say I've been impressed all along that W&K managed to keep their news private until they were ready - and informing H&M would have been a very obvious risk to that

Unfortunately if you choose to blab highly private details you can't be surprised if others choose not to share theirs with you

I imagine William will be very keen to keep their circle small and protect Kate from further stress during her treatment, and may feel that engaging with H+M is not the best idea in that case.

Why is it strange? The rf rarely come out and address any of the bullying regardless of who is happening to. So why is this any different? Did they come out and support Meghan when piers made those disgusting comments about Meghan? No I didn't see anything. However for some bizarre reason you want to hold then to a different set of standards 🤔

I'm not comparing H+M to the RF, I'm comparing their behaviour in one set of circumstances (Kate ill, W+K getting trashed in the press and bullied online, people laughing at them = no public support) with another (Kate diagnosed with cancer, messages from vips worldwide, sympathy in the press and online, celebs apologising or under pressure to apologise = public message of support).

But if you want to compare the two and say it's ok for them not to publicly support her during the bullying because the RF don't do that, surely it's strange for them to issue a public statement now when members of the RF haven't done that.

for some reason especially on here, Meghan is seen as fair game. the endless threads ripping her apart for everything.
yes it happens to Kate, but not on the same scale.(hopefully Kate will be left alone now.)
if Meghan did speak out about the stuff Kate has had. that would then be another thing she would be bashed for.
