I thought it was a take on father knows best, and old sitcom but that makes more sense.

It’s not unique and does not need to be to succeed. But it does seem like it was poorly executed and timed this way for poor reasons. Whatever the reasons for the launch, it’s clearly not ready.

I also think “self as subject” is way past it’s prime and at the moment Meg doesn’t have the star power to pull it off on a huge scale.

Martha built her reputation. Gwyneth had one already. Meg doesn’t have that kind of pull at the moment on either front.

I think the criticisms of Misan Harriman, a while back now, are unfair and unfounded. Scrubbing metadata is standard, theres nothing unusual about that for professionals at all. Its sloppy not to. It isn't a sign of anything being hidden. Yes you can still tell if something is edited of you know photoshop, and almost all pro photos are edited. They're not manipulated as standard though. He didn't add in a tree, as he has been accused of. There is a world of difference between editing a photo, and creating an entirely fake image by adding someone in, which is what happened in the Mothers day photo. It is a fake. Let's use the right words. Not edited, faked. I think it's a sign of desperation from royal supporters to try and drag Misan into this by comparing the two.

@BemusedAmerican Do the product filings you found include beauty products? Since the news is suggesting fans expect Kris Jenner is mentoring /supporting Meghan’s business venture I thought there may be some overlap.

I’d imagine that leaking news of their “private” efforts to contact William and Kate personally counts as PR antics..

From the Telegraph today:

The Duke (of Sussex) is understood to have dropped his demands for an apology for himself and the Duchess, recognising that such attempts to force a reaction had failed.
Warm wishes – likely sent via text – from California in the wake of the health scare might open a channel of communication.
But any meaningful reconciliation between the two couples will rely heavily on a willingness to forgive and forget from the Prince of Wales.
The Princess, who is a known peacemaker, might do her bit to heal the brotherly rift. But with so much currently resting on his shoulders, it would take a giant leap of faith from the Prince to risk creating any further upset for his family.

Good Lord! This all needs to stop now. Whoever is leaking this stuff- be it the Sussex camp or not- needs to cease fanning the flames of this divide. It’s only encouraging trolls to think they are fighting some kind of holy war!

I always thought Harry’s friendship with Kate was one of the realist of the monarchy, the most Harry will have is a formal type relationship. You can’t forgive and forget if there is no trust, for Kate this is more than Harry and William would she risk her children being the main characters of the next novel. That PR is awful, placing reconciliation on Kate’s door. The telegraph could be a rehash of two stories though as I’m sure he’s already dropped the need for an apology

Interested. I haven’t read the whole thread, what do you mean by “littered with incorrect assumptions”? Which assumptions are these?

If they are incorrect - does that mean you have some inside knowledge about the Sussexes?

The Telegraph’s Victoria Ward seems to be on message for them, putting the onus on Kate to forgive and forget! Quite extraordinary under the circumstances 😳

I can't think of one good reason they would notify Harry in advance of the announcement, but I can come up with plenty of reasons why they would allow him find out at the same time as the rest of the world. It's the only positive thing to come out of this, that Harry, and the world, knows for sure how irrelevant he is to his brother and his family.

Harry is paying the price for his attacks on his family, and his silence when their friends (Scobie et al) threw a barrage of insults and unfounded attacks at his brother and his wife. William will be doing what Harry said he was doing 'protecting his family' and keeping the viper away from them. I would be shocked if they ever have a meaningful relationship again.

I suspect William and Catherine's kids will grow up with a huge resentment against Harry too, when they realise what he personally did to their parents.

I saw an article on Sky online comparing the "strength and poignancy" of Kate's video message to the late Queen's one during covid. Plus obviously all the great and the good are offering support publicly. I really hope H+M do not feel compelled to try and compete or win some imaginary PR war right now.

Imagine telling them first. It would be leaked by friend Scoubie Do, 'accidentally' of course. I imagine no one would tell them anything again since it would either end up in an interview, book or Netflix.

Maybe now it will dawn on them ( although I have my doubts) that they are well and truly out of the loop and if they can’t supply Royal gossip , people’s interest will quickly wane .
Wonder if we will get a Spare type whinge that William hasn’t replied to his message and Meghan is hurt that Catherine hasn’t confided in her ?
