That kinda makes sense, would explain why it suddenly was such an issue. But he could have easily clarified with his employees or father surely?

I find it odd he wouldn’t have asked for clarification before going nuclear. It almost seems as though it was misrepresented intentionally just to weaponise it 🤷‍♀️

The main difference between the US celebrity PR relationship with the press vs the UK relationship with the press is that the royal family really has very little leverage with the editors of the main tabloids.

They can't threaten to withhold a star player from one publication for leverage because 99% of official royal duties are pooled information available for all to use.

Unless a paper has got a very very secret exclusive with proof that wouldn't be available to any other paper, no editor is going to agree to kill a juicy story in return for a different juicy royal story. They'll just say fabulous two juicy royal stories.

Plus in general there are very few genuinely exciting royal stories that are worth bargaining about.

All the stories Harry was complaining about concerning him were

a - things he chose to do of his own free will

b - super public with photos taken by his own guests, acquaintances and friends
