I am pleased to let you know that Prince William is on good form, visiting my home town today, meeting our football team and pulling a pint in the local. He clearly prioritised his engagements this week and this was far too important to miss⚽️🤣

The reality is that we know no more about William’s work load or work ethic than we do about those of the CEO of Shell

Unlike Willy the CEO of Shell isn't a drain on the public purse.

If he/she proves to be a sloth it's an internal matter.

Well said!

I always liked the idea of having a full time person to look after my clothes like the Queen did. Imagine. I would also have someone to do my hair and make up all the time and give me a massage anytime I felt like it.

ItsAllAboutTheDosh · 03/03/2024 23:30

Catherine has a stylist, hairdresser and make up person as employees.

Won’t they have staff such as historians recoding and documenting their lives? Researchers to brief them on important news, on places they are visiting, and on what happened to the Victorian safe?

The Role description for the CEO of their household, which was advertised late last year, gave a much lower number of staff:

Leading and managing KP’s Senior Leadership Team and overall Household (~60 people)

60 then

Okaaay

Because we really should believe all the nonsense spouted on Twitter 🙄

@MrsLeonFarrell

If he does all that himself why does he need 90 staff, what are they doing?

According to Hello magazine they employ 50 staff not 90.

Spectre8 · 04/03/2024 09:00

50 or 90 or even 30 whatever the number is they still have help and plenty of it

It's all smoke and mirrors and shrouded in secrecy. 50, 90 or whatever...they have a lot of staff
I read 90.somewhere

User442681bgt · 04/03/2024 11:16

So much rubbish out there then. Why would a sensible person believe any of it?

Or, people like to speculate they have a lot of staff to support the arguments they want to make?

We don't know , what we don't know!!

The whole thing is odd. I am not interested in whatever is wrong with the PoW - it's not my business. I do find it strange though that Prince William has so little understanding of real people that he thinks he can just turn up or not as he pleases. Sure, his wife is ill - many of us are dealing with difficult family situations and yet we cannot simply clock off to look after the kids, much as we might like to. I hope she recovers well and that he exercises better judgment in the future.

AliceOlive · 04/03/2024 14:55

If I had the means I could easily employ 20 without even moving to a new home and with no minor children in the house.

But I am one that believes that providing people with a way to earn a living is a hugely positive thing to do. I’d love to have the means to have a load of people on my payroll.

We have absolutely no idea why he missed the memorial service. Personal reasons can cover a whole host of things. It may have been because of the family suicide, we don't know.

I am not sure why people disbelieve the number of staff. They have 37 people working in the office, with the press, organising engagements and similar. And about 50 personal staff.
Catherine alone has a stylist, hairdresser and make up artist. They have a nanny and other childcare staff to help out. The nanny is the one in charge. Drivers, chef, cleaners, gardeners, William has a valet. They will have someone to wash and dry clean clothes and organise their extensive wardrobe. They may have a seamstress to make alterations as the children grow slightly or catherine and william change shape slightly - Lots of women change shape slightly during monthly periods and this is more noticeable when you are slim. They have I think 4 houses so need cleaners and gardeners at each one. I think they have a pool at least one house that will need regular cleaning. Both probably have personal trainers. A masseur.
It does not take much imagination to see how the number of staff can add up.
And this is normal amongst high net worth households.

Serenster · 04/03/2024 16:15

Loads of those will be service providers though and not employees! Eg the PT, hairdresser, make up artist, seamstress etc etc will be people who run their own businesses and who are engaged by the Prince and Princess as required. Also, they have two houses and their KP apartments which is where their office staff are based, as well as being residential. The pool is at Buckingham Palace, not their properties.

If you are going to use your imagination fine, but it may as well be based on some form of reality.

Roussette · 04/03/2024 16:18

Both Kensington Palace and Amner Hall have pools

BigWillyLittleTodger · 04/03/2024 16:22

I don’t care how many staff they have and I’m not surprised at the amount they have, be it 50 or 90, they are providing gainful employment for the people they do employ.

Agree, surely that's a good thing?
