I think someone in Kate’s position has to choose one of two paths with this - you either keep all medical diagnoses and procedures private as a matter of course, or you disclose every time.
Because if you disclose some and then one day you have something you really don’t want discussed on national television and in every tabloid across the world then you would end up with even worse speculation than we are seeing now.
She’s right at the age when health stuff starts happening and she’s facing another 40 years or so of this scrutiny.
Looks like the plan is to give the plain bare minimum - abdominal surgery - and set boundaries and guidelines around expectations - doing well, back after Easter.
Once she’s back to her usual smiley bouncy hair public facing self the rumors will die down (apart from the few crazies on Twitter) and then the next time she has a private health matter the same boundaries will apply and then eventually it will just be the way they deal with health stuff and everyone will stop freaking out.
Then she doesn’t have to disclose the full embarrassing details of her bunion removal op in her 50s, or the polyps removal in her 60s, or the cancer scare that was resolved with minimal treatment in her 70s etc etc etc
