I think Kate is deathly ill. I've thought so for weeks. The RF has been redirecting everyone's attention to the King but it's Kate who's seriously ill.

Newchapterbeckons · 28/02/2024 14:41

Kinneddar · 28/02/2024 14:37

The Spanish media have been reporting she was in a coma since she was in hospital 🙄

If the RF took legal action against that outlet for that story where would they stop. There's so much speculation they're better ignoring the rubbish. If they started legal action against some reports and not others people would draw their own (wrong) conclusions from that too

This is an update - suggesting Kate is still in an induced coma. It might be true, it might not be true. It seems the on going black out and silence is supporting this theory somewhat.
They seem to be implying that we are being misled to believe she is at home when she isn’t. No one has confirmed where she is even…so what are we to think? Clearly something is wrong.

This is exactly what I think too.

Newchapterbeckons · 28/02/2024 14:17

I do too. As a bare minimum. I don’t want an update on her health or details or to see her at all, I would expect by now to have heard something in her own words. I can’t imagine what has happened to prevent her from making a two line statement.

You would expect? Is she answerable to you? No.

LifeExperience · 28/02/2024 14:43

I saw royal correspondent Neil Sean on American news saying William's absence had to do with one of the children.

Newchapterbeckons · 28/02/2024 14:44

EchoChamber · 28/02/2024 14:43

Not to me personally, but as the next in line, to the taxpayers and nation - yes. Absolutely.

MaturingCheeseball · 28/02/2024 14:44

Well, I suppose all this salivating over K&W gives some posters some material rather than having to confront the fact that ol’ Harry blew it. And is a proven liar (again) to boot as there is proof the rf wanted him to retain his security and Pa did not cut him orrrf.

(And yes, it’s “whataboutery” but if people can say But Andrew then I can say But Harry - so there!)

FaiIureToLunch · 28/02/2024 14:44

I think she wants to leave/they’re divorcing. She taken time out and they’re trying to persuade her to stay. There has been nothing from her side at all. It’s odd. Almost like the Middletons won’t play along with it.

Owl55 · 28/02/2024 14:45

Perhaps she’s pregnant and needs bed rest because of complications? She had very bad morning sickness in her other pregnancy’s, maybe William dashed out to get some Ben and Jerry’s ?

Roussette · 28/02/2024 14:49

I certainly wish for the very best for her and hope she gets stronger every day to deal with whatever she has to deal with.
This is absolutely nothing to do with Harry

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 28/02/2024 14:54

CC49 · 28/02/2024 14:20

Perhaps Carole or Pippa can smuggle her a burner phone so she can make a hostage video.

Or that poster can go and stand outside KP with a sign saying 'COME TO THE WINDOW AND BLINK IF YOU NEED HELP, KATE!'

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 28/02/2024 14:56

Newchapterbeckons · 28/02/2024 14:34

This was published just a few days ago, there seems to be no effort to take legal action to refute the claims. Surely you would want to take legal action immediately if this was ‘made up’

https://www.thenews.com.pk/amp/1162111-kate-middletons-health-status-not-favourable-amid-coma-fears

If the RF took legal action against all the garbage printed in European trashmags they'd have no time to do anything else.

Porkfest · 28/02/2024 14:56

Did the palace announce that she went to Sandringham for half term with her kids - or was that media speculation.

I doubt you would be able to travel if you were that unwell.

I also doubt that a whole hospital system would be in on a conspiracy pretending that she was there when she wasn’t.

BigWillyLittleTodger · 28/02/2024 14:56

Unlike Charles I think William and Kate are wanting to revert the royals back to the time when information on them was rarely shared with the public, more pre 1950 style, they have shown this by reducing the charities and causes they want to be associated with, don’t work anywhere near as much as other royals, they appear to not want to undertake ribbon cutting for a library in Doncaster and more involvement in bigger issues such as the housing crisis, early years etc. This may sound good in theory but as Queen Elizabeth said herself, royals need to be seen to be believed, she was a wise woman, I don’t think William’s more distant style of monarchy will work in this social media age.

Not really funny if the rumours turn out to be true. Not funny full stop because she is clearly extremely ill best case scenario.

Funnily enough the day the guardian drilled further into the African Parka controversies, a bs thread started on here about William - totally made up nonsense. But a good distraction from Harry’s bad headlines regarding further atrocities.

Harry loses his case against the home office, a thread about Kate pops up, complete with an AI generated newspaper article. Coincidence..? The reporting of the case reveals Harry’s claims had no substance. And does throw further doubt on all
his hard-done-by claims and tales of persecution by palace staff. If anything, it’s Harry that’s dragged their names through mud, tarnished their reputations, and continues to drag them in court. Harry is looking more like the persecutor rather than the persecuted. But it’s being lost in all the noise.

mitogoshi · 28/02/2024 14:59

If it's the surgery that was rumoured, I'm not surprised she is staying out of the way of the media. Major surgery which involves a lot of getting used to

Samcro · 28/02/2024 14:59

hopefully Kate is on the mend. its weird that we are so shocked by PW doing this. he isn't known for his work ethic.

I also really doubt that either he or Kate want out.

SOxon · 28/02/2024 15:01

Laiste · 28/02/2024 14:21

The majority of people want the monarchy to change.

One of the changes the P and P of Wales might be paving the way for is changing the very old fashioned appeasing of the public. Keeping up the illusion of the public being kept informed.

This thirst and expectation to feel they know everything, wanting messages. It's really odd.

I firmly disagree with this line Laiste, (respectfully) - we need this rapport between Royalty, Monarchy, the Line of Succession secured, now more than ever.

Consider the Danish Monarchy, small but perfectly formed, honed and dedicated, how the people love them, even refer to their erstwhile Queen as Daisy with no lack of respect.
This is a good template for a new style Monarchy, celebrating family milestones, achievements, showing humanity, formality, endurance.
For our own Monarchy, the constant withdrawal to one of their many homes, hidden, private, removing themselves from sight to be private, incommunicado, they cannot be private, this is what they signed up for.
Month long sojourns in Scotland, Norfolk, they earned it, holiday time, to rest,
but on duty, no absolutely not.
It is surprising there has been no word from the office of the Princess of Wales.
nor a letter of thanks from Catherine, dismaying though this is, hopefully it does
not mean there is anything secretly seriously amiss, more of an oversight.

I don’t see this as being appeasing, more of a required courtesy, from our Royal Family, : we are not a rabble, rather the collective means by which they survive.

yesmen · 28/02/2024 15:01

As they are the royal family, the first family and head of our society I think the "no updates" comes across as a FU, very arrogant?

In this day and age the First Family need to "co operate " more with society - they cannot go all 16th/17th century!

That is not to imply that they have no right to privacy, or we need a live stream.

For once Charles got it right! Open to a degree. On that back of that he has locked in support, allowances for cancellations etc. In fact, you could argue that in giving a little he bought much more privacy. It was appreciated and people back off. It showed respect.

Re William and stressed, hands on dad - we know they have a small army to do most of it. The frazzeled, juggling father is not at all fair to those who do actually live in that state on a daily basis. (I say that as someone who lives a fairly privillaged life).

When they promote that image it really turns me against them.

kirinm · 28/02/2024 15:02

It seems that the ever so reliable 'royal sources' can keep their mouths shut when they want to.

EmmaGrundyForPM · 28/02/2024 15:02

If Kate really is still in hospital rather than recuperating at home, I doubt they could keep that quiet.

And what about G,C and L? Would they be asked to lie? If their mummy is still in hospital they'd talk about it at school. Louis would tell little Tarquin that he's off to see Mummy in hospital, little Tarquin would tell little Pandora etc etc. Then they tell their parents. You couldn't keep it quiet.

How can it work?
The public can not be expected to shell out £86.3 million every year for them to just have a jolly and do everything on their own terms and treat the public with contempt.

This just won’t work wash.
We have hospitals that are falling down, roads with craters, schools unfit for use. There is no way the RF can have their cake and eat it. I’m a royalist and I simply can not support this vision.

Scoobies given about your opinion of my post - 0. Like what you know about what's wrong with the PoW - which is also 0, despite all the fevered speculation and demands on here.

If the RF took legal action against all the garbage printed in European trashmags they'd have no time to do anything else.

They do take legal action sometimes though, this is quite a serious accusation so would not be unusual for them to sue over it at all.
