Could it be that KC and PW are at loggerheads over the rehabilitation of PA?

Maybe PW didn’t want PA at the memorial service and KC overruled him so PW stepped back at the last minute.

This might explain PA highly inappropriate exuberance en-route not only to a memorial service but one where a shocking, untimely death has just been announced where v close family were present. Also his bombastic opportunistic bouncing himself up to the front?

I think this as well. KC is as weak as his mother was towards PA whereas PW and KM ( in fairness probably Harry too) would have no truc with him.

Laiste · 28/02/2024 14:06

Those who crave a 'message' - why would some baseless statement written by who knows who have any meaning to you at all?

Here you go:
The Princess of Wales is recovering beautifully and is grateful for all the well wishes. She hopes to be up and about as planned at Easter.

Is it true? I don't know. But it's no less reliable than any statement written by a flunky and released from a press office to placate everyone.

Isn't it a bit more 2024 to announce you're having 3 months off because of surgery and you want a bit of peace so no updates - and then HAVE the 3 months off without giving any updates?

I hope PW has the emotional intelligence to stop if he needs to and attend to his own mental health. This is much healthier than ploughing on when you’re at the very end of your tether.

here is another - when you get to the end of your rope,
tie a big knot in it and hang on!

we expect a worthy Prince of Wales and a strong King to come,
not a Willy the Wimp -

Maybe William is flexing his muscles here, we cannot be knowing.

However, this is not a time for the PoW, no.2, to be taking to his chaise longue
resting his emotional intelligence, which really isn’t healthy or indeed, part
of his contract.

I agree. Remember the blowback from the Boxing Day photo? I don't think PW wants to be set up like that again.

Absolutely -- no different from H&M announcing their five-month maternity leave when the second child is born. I respected their decision to do that, much as I respect Catherine's decision in this case.

MsForgetful · 28/02/2024 14:09

The difference is obvious isn't it? They cannot make a statement on her behalf, as in a quote from her directly, without her permission. Either she can't, or won't, give it.

Laiste · 28/02/2024 14:11

They said no updates.

There haven't been any.

SecondUsername4me · 28/02/2024 14:11

The last 3 times Kate was known to be in hospital, it was expected of her that she be presented and looking immaculate with her newborns within 24 hours of giving birth. In a dress.

Maybe she's just cashing in on all that by insisting that she gets the privacy and quiet that new mums deserve after pregnancy and birth?

Totally agree with this. The POW has openly discussed poor mental health in the past. If that is what it was yesterday, good on him.

If on the other hand, he preferred not to share photo ops with Andrew, I can fully support that too.

Absolutely this.

My god Serenster if I posted that huge list of theories I would be jumped on from a great height and flamed by any number of posters

Yet it's ok for you to amplify all the conspiracy theories?

@Serenster is making the point that all the speculating is crackers. Which is a useful thing to do.

Laiste · 28/02/2024 14:11

It’s absolutely not normal to not even issue a thank you message. Standard protocol is at least that. This could easily happen without any ‘update’ of her recovery or otherwise.

MsForgetful · 28/02/2024 14:13

Update I think means on her health. Not the same as ' you will not hear anything from her whatsoever and we won't tell you why'. I think we deserve that, given their role and public position.

listsandbudgets · 28/02/2024 14:14

In terms of Kate, I'd assumed it was an ectopic pregnancy as it was likely to mess her up emotionally and take her out of circulation health wise for some time.

However, we'll probably never know and I feel bad that I've speculated to be honest - whatever it is I hope she recovers well

Newchapterbeckons · 28/02/2024 14:14

Laiste · 28/02/2024 14:11

Does that sound anything like the Kate we know - ‘won’t’ or refuses to thank well wishers?

well, this board speculates on a daily basis about other members of the family. I could make a similar list about theories on this board about other members. So this entire board and every thread is crackers too then?

Yes by listing out all the bonkers conspiracy theories.

Some posters on here can do that and not have outraged others calling them out

I do too. As a bare minimum. I don’t want an update on her health or details or to see her at all, I would expect by now to have heard something in her own words. I can’t imagine what has happened to prevent her from making a two line statement.

Roussette · 28/02/2024 14:17

I'll remember to say 'context' when I list one not covered by the big list. Thx!

Perhaps Carole or Pippa can smuggle her a burner phone so she can make a hostage video.

jötunnn · 28/02/2024 14:20

But you’re the poster who previously on this thread insinuated some of the crackpot speculation was true. You hinted at it very strongly. The other poster didn’t, they simply listed the madeup theories making the point it’s utter and complete nonsense.

The majority of people want the monarchy to change.

One of the changes the P and P of Wales might be paving the way for is changing the very old fashioned appeasing of the public. Keeping up the illusion of the public being kept informed.

This thirst and expectation to feel they know everything, wanting messages. It's really odd.
