I saw a post saying that Megan Markle’s bump must be fake because she was able to bend down with her knees closed in heels, apparently it’s physically impossible! I tweeted saying it is possible, as my mum had seen a similar tweet and asked me when I was 38 weeks pregnant if I could- I duly donned my heels and bent down as an experiment- it was easily done! When I said this, good grief the replies, calling me a liar, that I’m as deluded as Megan, that I’m a sugar and their PR team had paid me to tweet that, that I must be a magician etc. honestly it was WILD!

They get paid in fruitage, @ArcaneWireless It's very lucrative, when opposable thumbs is all you've got going for you.

Possibly Catherine tidied up the photo herself, and not being a professional at it, made a few errors.

We are bombarded with manipulated images on a daily basis from all corners of the media, I find it really sinister news agencies have 'withdrawn' this particular one and continue to the stoke the controversy.

Glanced at those threads about the pic being 'manipulated' and thought nope, not going there. Especially not X. When it was Twitter I was accused of being a Russian bot.

Apparently a significant proportion of the population is below average intelligence and I don't have any trouble believing that the last few years.

@MrsDanversGlidesAgain I also had a look at the other thread(s) about the photo but have decided that for my own sanity I will go to yoga then the supermarket ! Cheese is on my list . And wine .

I'm on MN far too much and this insanity will help keep me off it. So there is a good side to it.

Eyes rolling hard at the press getting the vapours over a “manipulated” photo (manipulation in this case being the sort of minor tidy ups you’d do to your own family pictures). Didn’t stop them posting umpteen airbrushed, adjusted, “manipulated”photos of the Kardashians and the like. The bloody photo is being treated like it’s proof of life rather than what it is - a Mother’s Day photo. I’m sure they poured over their past MD releases in the same way - not.

The pearl clutching over manipulation is ludicrous. So it's been a bit hamfistedly tidied up - what, exactly, is that supposed to prove except that PW is a bit shit at it?

It’s almost as if the press are pissed off that they’ve used a photo taken by themselves rather than the once a year where they normally use a professional photographer.

Unbelievably, it’s the top headline in some newspapers and they are doing a “live” blog on it. Over some crappy photoshopping that we have all done 🙄. The only good thing might be if it starts a debate around publishing manipulated images. Although I’m not holding my breath

The press is pissed off because W put a family photo on instagram, rather than giving them direct access to scar tissue, sad face and a valiant mental health battle story. I also think the ramping up of coverage on the Sussexes is a provocation to try to get W&K to panic and try to compete. It’s pathetic. It’s also proof if ever it was needed that the RF are not in control of the media. And also, any efforts the RF have made in the past to try to cooperate with the press has been needed to quell the sort of unbelievable batshittery we are seeing from them now. The press is having the worst toddler tantrum ever, they screamed they were hungry, they got dinner but have thrown it at the wall, and are now rolling around on the floor howling and demanding ice cream.

The princess has apparently apologised now anyway. Bet that still won’t be good enough 😆

What a shame that posting a nice, happy family snap on their Instagram has ended up like this. It was to celebrate Mother's Day and thank people for their kindness and good wishes.
Instead of which, all manner of unhinged, hateful and ludicrous comments have been made about them.
How anyone continues with the crazy claim that the RF "control the media" is really beyond belief.

I think the media are shitting themselves that William is going to take a much harder line with them over the years to come.

He really is drawing a line between public and private and seems to not give a shit if the media get themselves in a froth over it.

The press lifted the photo from the Wales’ Instagram page. They should have checked it and questioned any issues before racing to be the first to post it.

And Kate has apologised on X for her amateur dabbling on an amateur family shot. Talk about a nothing burger. Waiting for the press to start howling that they need proof she types her own tweets and whether she’s wearing her rings while she’s doing it 🙄
