So Harry flew for 11 hours and then spoke to his father for 45 minutes ? Charles then bobbed to Sandringham by helicopter and Harry checked into a hotel. I mean wouldn't you think Harry would have gone to Sandringham with Charles maybe ?

@Janetime Out of interest, what is your source for your statements?

CurlewKate · 08/02/2024 12:54

@caringcarer 🤣The Mirror- that paper of record!

caringcarer · 08/02/2024 12:42

Wow, In the Mirror today, Lady Colin Campbell states Prince Harry just booked the plane, got on then told King Charles office he was on the way. Harry's audience with King Charles and Queen Camilla lasted just 12 minutes. So he flew over 20,000 miles and didn't even get 1 minute for each thousand miles. Charles couldn't discuss much about his illness in case it ended up in a future book or Netflix by Harry. It was also claimed that William has now disowned Harry.

Lady C has predicted their divorce too. It was supposed to happen 2 years ago now I think.

She’s a bit like Angela Levin. She said Meghan insisted the school in Harlem where she read her book to the young children, carpet a whole classroom in a particular colour.
(Meghan’s publishers actually just asked the school if they needed some carpet and cushions for outside where the kids were going too sit. Because of covid all the book reading had to be outside) .

Although I did wonder if Angela Levin overstepped last week when she seemed to imply Kate had a mental illness. No one was talking about it until Angela Levin spoke up about it. That started a new wave of speculation:

YetMoreNewBeginnings · 08/02/2024 12:55

It’s a few mins walk back and forward , and Charles and Camilla had to then make their way to the helicopter.

It’s known exactly when C&C left Clarence House to go to the helicopter as the drive down to BP after meeting Harry was live on the news channels.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 08/02/2024 12:55

The Mirror's about as reliable as the Express.

LittleTeawithmilk1 · 08/02/2024 13:07

Actually, I think Lady C’s sources are more likely to be Twitter, mumsnet and reddit etc.. than the palace or royal journalists. I don’t see her much, but when I do see a clip of her now, I have inevitably read whatever gossip she’s talking about a week ago on here.

Hi lady C

Withdrawn at poster's request

He is the gift that keeps on giving and not in a good way.

Yes the rf were all playing it down, all is fine King is positive etc then dramalama Harold has to do an attention seeking dash all to show how very #BeKind he is. Despite moaning about his whole family and oversharing private detail for years

Still, I bet he has his US sponsors breathing down his neck telling him to get the details. As if anyone will tell him anything that hasn't already been released to the media.

Wonder when they'll do a dash in the spotlight to see poorly Mr Markle..

cheezncrackers · 08/02/2024 13:28

It will be interesting to see if he does any interviews with the media off the back of his 'mercy dash' to see his father. Remember when he came to see the Queen and then told Hoda Kotb that he was 'making sure she has the right people around her'? I bet the US media is clamouring for comments from him on how his father is, what his father said, how his father's treatment is going, etc. If Harry has one iota of sense (which is doubtful), he won't say a word.

cheezncrackers · 08/02/2024 13:29

Yeah - the contrast is interesting, isn't it? Poor Old Thomas Markle had a bloody heart attack and did Meghan rush to see him? Did she hell.

MaturingCheeseball · 08/02/2024 13:34

Why oh why are some pertinent events “fingers in ears” for some posters? The official announcement of Harry’s visit was made by The Office of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Who wrote and approved this information?

Idk if Charles would be wary sharing information but Harry has himself to blame

Fraaahnces · 08/02/2024 13:37

It’s not called a “Royal Sulk” for nothing…

MaturingCheeseball · 08/02/2024 13:38

As so many have said, even if there was a lovely reconciliation and truce - you still couldn’t trust Harry not to divulge private information.

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 08/02/2024 13:38

Imagine how painful sitting in a room with the son you haven't seen for months and having to limit yourself to 'I'm fine, thanks' and equally anodyne stuff because you don't want it to end up in the media.

Abouttimeforanamechange · 08/02/2024 13:40

If Harry has one iota of sense (which is doubtful), he won't say a word

If the King has one iota of sense (and I'm sure Camilla has, even if the King was inclined to be swayed by sentiment) then he won't have said anything he wasn't prepared to have made public.

Bet Cam had her phone under the table recording just in case.

I suspect Charles told him nothing! A meeting of 12 minutes just about allows the attendees to exchange banal pleasantries before going their separate ways.

wheeeeeee · 08/02/2024 13:47

He flew from America to the UK and back to America within 24 hours.

I recently had a lovely 13 hour flight in a suite/room of my own with armchairs and a lie-down bed, a shower spa, and a spacious lounge bar with sofas upstairs where we could walk around, relax and mingle with other passengers. It was no different to relaxing on the ground. Obviously I can't afford that on a regular basis.

Flying first class on a great airline or private makes a lot of difference in comfort levels, which is probably why the rich can jet about across the world like they're taking the Tube...

Can they really not see how glaringly hypocrital they look? Gossip about his family for years oh that's all water under the bridge, df has cancer let me see him now! Thomas markle gossips about his dd for years oh noooo he can be left to fester nasty man sharing all their private info 🙄.

They are utter fools.

ajandjjmum · 08/02/2024 13:50

If I was the King and Queen, I would have deliberately planted an incorrect piece of gossip, and would then wait to see if it surfaced on the other side of the Atlantic. Bit like HM coming back to London by train.

WatchOutMissMarpleIsAbout · 08/02/2024 13:53

I actually don’t know who is worse. Angela Levin or Lady Colin Campbell. Not much between them I’d wager.

William used to do that at university to find out what friends were leaking stories to the press about him

wildernesssw · 08/02/2024 13:57

@wheeeeeee I think the point isn't so much about comfort levels, but about pollution and the environment

Janetime · 08/02/2024 13:58

To be honest, the issue with the comments on the meeting being 12 mins and harry blindsiding the king, are they are hugely plausible.

does it matter though if it was 12 mins or 20 mins. The key point is it could be measured in mins, and it was clearly not 45 mins, as that’s the literal amount of time between Harry’s entrance through the gates and exit. There is time to get in and out of cars, make your way to the private room and back again.

the whole thing is the height of stupidly whichever way you look at it, and made a whole lot more stupid by issuing the media statement and notifying the press of Harry’s movements so he could ger max publicity from it.
