So Harry flew for 11 hours and then spoke to his father for 45 minutes ? Charles then bobbed to Sandringham by helicopter and Harry checked into a hotel. I mean wouldn't you think Harry would have gone to Sandringham with Charles maybe ?

@Brumbies Surely Docusign would be easier?

Maybe, but this would be such an important document that perhaps it had to be done in person.

But as I said, it's just a theory of mine.

I thought Harry was close to both of Andrew’s daughters. I’m surprised he didn’t catch up with them, if they are in this country

He's supposedly close to Eugenie, but she currently lives in Portugal, and I don't think he and Beatrice get on as well. I can't imagine she was thrilled what he wrote about her father in Spare, even if Andrew deserves every vilification. It's one thing for the public and media to stick the boot in, quite another for your first cousin to do it. Interestingly, she was seen visiting Charles at Clarence House after his diagnosis - I wonder if he's asked her to step up and help out more with engagements.

reclaimmyboobs · 08/02/2024 11:12

@mrsmingleton No, she “kept it casual” in a baseball cap, “her dark locks swept back from her face”

RoyallyRhubarb · 08/02/2024 11:13

It’s a 10 min walk from the BP entrance to the private rooms, another 10 min walk out to the garden and, as a PP said,5 mins settling into the chopper before it takes off. Harry had a maximum 20 mins with Charles. Twelve mins seems highly plausible.

Harry had better be careful with his future visits. There’s covid on the planes.

mrsmingleton · 08/02/2024 11:14

It's dropped off the front page now anyway.

wildernesssw · 08/02/2024 11:15

I thought 'Beatrice's visit to Charles' ended up being that her apartment has the same public entrance as Clarence House?

feellikeanalien · 08/02/2024 11:18

I confess. I looked at the picture in the DM. It's a really crap picture. Looks to me more like something someone got on their phone. You really have to look closely to even see that it's Megan.

Surely if it was arranged they would have got a better picture.

I have to agree that an “official” photo would have been more flattering. I have had veneers for 30 years and can attest to the fact that they do glow in the dark 😭

I wish I was that thrilled about driving. Or that delighted with my coffee. I need to improve my hot drink game. I so rarely see anyone beaming at the wheel of their car like that.

Ah, I didn't see that.

sensationalsally · 08/02/2024 11:30

Fair play to Harry for coming to see his dad. Not his fault media turn it into the usual circus - that is why he left in the first place. Hardly H's fault if Charles didn't invite him back to Sandringham, which may well be the case (how are we to know whose choice it was that he would stay in a. hotel?)

It was. She lives at St James' and down at the bottom of the article it included that it was the same gate used to get there. It was utter nonsense.

I'm not that keen on coffee, I prefer tea , the way people go on about it though , I'm always assuming I've missed something somewhere!

They met at Clarence House did they not? Before Charles went to BP to get on the helicopter?

He announced it to the press. The times he'd be at the airports ect. Why do that if you're not actively courting a 'circus'. Why not just get on a plane with out telling the world your plans?

It was turned into a circus 🎪 because the duke and Duchess of Sussex released a press release saying he was going!!!

Yes why not?

Why did they do the whole press release thing

Irony at the sad state of the British media.

LindorDoubleChoc · 08/02/2024 11:38

DeeplyMovingExperience · 07/02/2024 10:02

People seriously underestimate how damaging words can be. Harry has effectively destroyed any semblance of trust that might have existed prior to all his public outpourings. KC might well have unconditional love for his son, but Harry's burned the rest of his family to the ground.

There's no coming back from his choices.

I know it's from pages back, but this is how I view the whole situation.

I know whole families divided forever by far less serious accusations than racism, parental absence, indifference, not believing in mental health issues - and all the other things Harry has said about his family. I'd be really surprised if the rift is ever mended although I'm sure Charles still loves his second son, as he always has done.

Perhaps Harry doesn't want to build any bridges? who knows?

I don't think he would have been criticised by many for not flying over immediately. We can be reasonably confident Charles is not at death's door so why wouldn't Harry come on a planned visit in a few months time?

Inkanta · 08/02/2024 11:44

The state of the British media is ridiculous and hilarious. The sad lot are angry because the ever caring Harry played them by rushing in to see his ill dad. By so doing he turned off the oxygen of forever commentary on whether he will visit his dad or not. Today they put up an old photo of Meghan at the wheel saying she's come out of hiding. They must know by now that we know how ridiculous they are - but they don't care.
