Does anyone know where Prince William is?

1000 replies

TallerSally · 06/02/2024 17:44

Errrrr….. where’s Willy? The press focus in the past 24 hours has been perplexing. King Charles’ diagnostic has been the top item, of course. But, bizarrely, the 2nd item has almost invariably been… Prince Harry this and that and the other. Prince HARRY??? What’s with the obsession with him? This should be about Prince WILLIAM! Yet from/about him, absolute silence. What on Earth is going on?

And please don’t start with the “he has to be at his wife’s bedside”. If Harry The Not Next In Line To The Throne And Not Counsellor of State And Can’t Stand In For The King etc etc can fly all the way from Montecito, then William The next King and He Who Should Stand In For King Charles can go visit his Dad in hospital (did he?), rush to be by his dad’s bedside (did he?), make announcements about which official duties he will take up, etc etc.

I know Prince Harry is the one the media are addicted to writing about and slagging off to drive clicks, but can they (and so many on these boards) perhaps take a break from their unhealthy obsession with H (&M) and keep the spotlight where most would expect it to be, on King Charles and, in particular, his successor Prince William?

[Title should read does anyone know...]

Nice to see William out and about, and good that he took George out to do something fun in the school hols. My kids treasure going to see stadium matches with their dad. My justified criticism is that no child should be forced to watch Aston Villa.

Those who choose to repeat rumours - in whatever context - are no better than those who chose to spread them in the first place.

I've skim read and I beleive I've contributed once or twice here.
No matter what HRH Prince William does, those that are going to continously put him down will continue to do so.

The man is a credit to his family as is his wife. They bring a smile to the faces of millions when they appear in the media. What many convenietly forget is the fact that William and Kate fly the flag for England around the world and give millions around the world the impression how people live and behave in England.

There are some that will never be happy with what this pair did and if you are one of those, just leave them alone if they have nothing constructive to post about them unless its true. Most of what I read about them on forums is far from the truth IMO

William one day will be king of the U.K. &
not just England.

not just England.

He is currently Prince of Wales

Good point one is missed out!

Edit :

One I had missed out.

Autocorrect will be the death of me.

Am I wrong to read your posts as tongue-in-cheek?

Apologies if you are sharing your sincere feelings.

Sarcasm can be hard to judge on the mumsnet.

Prince William has credible threats against him. It makes sense for him not to publish his whereabouts on the court circular since that just tips off the crazies.

Harry created a big fuss a few weeks ago when that church apparently posted the data and time that Invictus is using the crypt in May because he was afraid of crazies.

As an American, it just strikes me as weird that certain posters expect the Prince of Wales to release every detail of his day and Harry feels that he is in danger because the Invictus date has been made public. Has Invictus become some type of secret society like the Illuminati?

Harry concerned over 'serious security risk' after date of his UK return leaked

EXCLUSIVE: The publication of the exact date and time of the Invictus Games 10th Anniversary Service on St. Paul's official website has triggered fears over Prince Harry's security, Express.co.uk can exclusively reveal.

Sources tell the Daily Express that Prince Harry's team emphasized the need to keep the exact date of his appearance confidential due to fears over his security in the United Kingdom

As usual I take little notice of anonymous "sources" and being the Express it's most likely made up, but I do get tired of hearing about security whinges concerning Harry

Except for him losing his case over this nothing's changed; if the assessments suggest he needs security then that's what he'll rightly get, and displays of princely pettishness aren't going to change their minds - even if, toddler-like, Harry fails to understand the word no

It’s interesting how Harry squares off being in Germany for Invictus and in future Canada with his security risks, I’d say he’s more of a risk in Germany than the UK where he has been receiving police security that was evident in his 24 hour visit. It not like the Taliban and supporters would find the uk easier than mainland Europe. They certainly were not in hiding in Germany.

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 12/04/2024 16:19

Jamaica is one of the most dangerous places to travel to. But no problem going there for a pointless pap shot appearance, oh no.

Maireas · 12/04/2024 19:13

Yes, it's funny how it's so dangerous to arrive in the UK by private jet, be whisked away in a limousine and taken to royal premises or an abbey packed with royals, politicians and VIPs and he's not safe.
Yet he'll jog through a car park in California (gun ownership?) , visit Jamaica, Germany and Canada and go on holiday to the Caribbean and Switzerland.

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 12/04/2024 20:32

Apparently Montecito has more violent crime per capita than anywhere else in California. The “fears” about the St Pauls’s visit is nuts. And really quite offensive. Either they’ve been knocked back by the UK family not wanting to see them and are trying to save face, or they had no intention of coming over but want to position themselves as victims once more. And quite possibly they are playing games with RAVEC about attending, in a carbon copy of last year’s coronation will they or won’t they. They are tiresomely predictable and frankly boring.

I'm not entirely clear which "pair" you are referring to, as you went from talking about the Prince and Princess of Wales, and admiring, to "this pair"??

If you are referring to H & M, then I suggest you take a look at their actions and behaviour, and conclude what is "constructive" about any of it. Quite the reverse, I would suggest! You don't need to read anything on forums.

runner

It is like one of those Mensa puzzles that seem to be obvious but when you pick at it, it isn’t what you think it says.

I’m not concerned. I was shit at the Krypton Factor too.

BemusedAmerican · 13/04/2024 01:35

@Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar

Montecito is actually quite safe for California.
https://crimegrade.org/safest-places-in-montecito-ca/

queenofarles · 13/04/2024 09:53

Windsor must be a very dangerous place for them , with all the reported break ins at their next door neighbours houses , and several failed attempts at their own home not to mention drones flying over their property trying to take photos of their house and kids , oh wait that’s Montecito 🙄.

BemusedAmerican · 13/04/2024 12:07

@queenofarles looking at crime stats.org, they are actually more at risk of having their car stolen than being killed. A good alarm and camera system for the garage should solve that problem.

Am I misremembering, or did they not actually hire Backgrid at some point?

ArcaneWireless · 13/04/2024 12:19

Well if someone nicked their car, I can imagine them chasing the car down the road.

It just wouldn’t be catastrophic.

I think H&M leaked the location of Tyler Perry’s house and had a drone fly over? Is that what you meant?

ArcaneWireless · 13/04/2024 18:05

Why would they do that if they have such safety/security concerns?

No-one is that daft.

Are they?

I think telling the OP to get a life is really unfair.

I suppose it’s difficult to go from living a life where being papped and present is vital. But then I guess that life was the key to the financial plan when they chose to come to American.

ArcaneWireless · 13/04/2024 18:27

It is a beautiful day. Why not live life?

Garden centres must be heaving.
