Does anyone know where Prince William is?

Errrrr….. where’s Willy? The press focus in the past 24 hours has been perplexing. King Charles’ diagnostic has been the top item, of course. But, bizarrely, the 2nd item has almost invariably been… Prince Harry this and that and the other. Prince HARRY??? What’s with the obsession with him? This should be about Prince WILLIAM! Yet from/about him, absolute silence. What on Earth is going on?

And please don’t start with the “he has to be at his wife’s bedside”. If Harry The Not Next In Line To The Throne And Not Counsellor of State And Can’t Stand In For The King etc etc can fly all the way from Montecito, then William The next King and He Who Should Stand In For King Charles can go visit his Dad in hospital (did he?), rush to be by his dad’s bedside (did he?), make announcements about which official duties he will take up, etc etc.

I know Prince Harry is the one the media are addicted to writing about and slagging off to drive clicks, but can they (and so many on these boards) perhaps take a break from their unhealthy obsession with H (&M) and keep the spotlight where most would expect it to be, on King Charles and, in particular, his successor Prince William?

[Title should read does anyone know...]

Case in point, the current landing page of the Telegraph.

Meeting with Prince.... Harry? One would have thought a meeting with Prince William more significant to the nation, no?

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/royal-family/2024/02/06/king-charles-iii-cancer-diagnosis-live-harry-return-uk/

A meeting with the son he’s in daily contact with is not as newsworthy as the one he’s in the middle of a very public row with.

Neither are significant to the nation though.

Harry's making it all about him. William's letting it be about his father and his wife.

Really. Just by flying over to visit his, you know, own father. Some people need to get a life.

Some people follow the RF like they are a soap opera😆!

Tbf they are at times!

Viviennemary · 06/02/2024 18:20

William has been there throughout the last few difficult years .Harry made a 45 minute visit. I know what team I'm on.

You need to get a life OP.

You really do, OP.

Riapia · 06/02/2024 18:21

Well done OP.
You’ve done what you set out to do.
The feathers are flying.
Sit back with a cuppa and a contented smile.
There’s a great deal of flapping in the MN hen house.
Clever.

Are you one of the girls who phoned a helpline when Take That split up?

A reasonable assumption would be that William has been working from home, whilst liaising with his father either face to face or by telephone.

He resumes front facing royal duties tomorrow.

RosesAndHellebores · 06/02/2024 18:24

I'm sorry but if Harry had to come and needed to come, the diagnosis must be far more than has been reported in the press. If the diagnosis is straight forward and recovery /survival for more than 5 years expected, Harry did not need to come at this pass. He has turned the situation into a drama.

For all we know, perhaps they HAVE met face to face since KC received his diagnosis.

BreakfastAtMimis · 06/02/2024 18:27

Right OP, imagine this. You're diagnosed with cancer. You've got one son who shows up at your house regularly, sometimes by himself, sometimes with his wife and kids.
You have another son who used to be around all the time but has barely been seen in years.
Which one do you think the neighbours will be gossiping about when they see him arrive?

JustWhatWeDontNeed · 06/02/2024 18:28

This post is bananas.

He's had a medical diagnosis, he's not on life support. Why would William need to rush anywhere? I don't think we need to check their call logs.

Presumably they report on Harry because he's not usually around and it's a given that Charles would've spoken to William...

Well maybe he wanted to come and didn't have much else on Confused

Maybe they've all been aware of much more than we have for quite some time. I don't think they need to explain themselves. The country won't dissolve if there's a change in the structure of the Royal family.

fleurneige · 06/02/2024 18:32

No Royalist- but honestly, how I wish they were all given a bit of space and peace for a while.

Roussette · 06/02/2024 18:33

No he hasn't. His father has been diagnosed with cancer. Any child would want to see their parent in the circumstances. Saying 'he did not need to come'. Of course he did! He would've been annihilated if he hadn't.

The only drama is the worst of the media and posters on here making it so.

William is probably at home with his feet up , reading MN and thinking WTF is wrong with these people

Well no? They see each other all the time?are you not from the uk?is that it, you don’t understand that William and Charles see each other on the regular and their meetings not broadcast, and that Harry is only being reported on as he’s been on the attack and estranged, so coming to see his dad is unusual?

In fairness Harry's hardly to blame for what the Telegraph write - unless he'd fed it to them of course, but we can't know that
Even the unpleasant Scobie might have found out about his LAX departure from someone else, though from past events that's maybe not likely

AFAIK he's not yet done anything to make it "all about himself", but as ever with Harry time will tell
