Does anyone know where Prince William is?

TallerSally · 06/02/2024 17:44

Errrrr….. where’s Willy? The press focus in the past 24 hours has been perplexing. King Charles’ diagnostic has been the top item, of course. But, bizarrely, the 2nd item has almost invariably been… Prince Harry this and that and the other. Prince HARRY??? What’s with the obsession with him? This should be about Prince WILLIAM! Yet from/about him, absolute silence. What on Earth is going on?

And please don’t start with the “he has to be at his wife’s bedside”. If Harry The Not Next In Line To The Throne And Not Counsellor of State And Can’t Stand In For The King etc etc can fly all the way from Montecito, then William The next King and He Who Should Stand In For King Charles can go visit his Dad in hospital (did he?), rush to be by his dad’s bedside (did he?), make announcements about which official duties he will take up, etc etc.

I know Prince Harry is the one the media are addicted to writing about and slagging off to drive clicks, but can they (and so many on these boards) perhaps take a break from their unhealthy obsession with H (&M) and keep the spotlight where most would expect it to be, on King Charles and, in particular, his successor Prince William?

[Title should read does anyone know...]

He’s at home at Windsor, then doing an investiture and an evening gala tomorrow, why?

blackcherryconserve · 06/02/2024 17:46

You need to get a life OP.

Janetime · 06/02/2024 17:47

Honestly I’ve just reread your angry little post. I’ve no idea why you’re irate. Apparently William and Charles have been having meetings every evening. He is currently at home with his wife and kids and returns to work tomorrow. Charles isn’t at deaths door, have you misunderstood?

NigelHarmansNewWife · 06/02/2024 17:47

Slow hand clap OP. Ffs. Why do some posters have to try to create drama where there isn't one and it's nothing to do with them anyway?

RosesAndHellebores · 06/02/2024 17:47

Harry's making it all about him. William's letting it be about his father and his wife.

sprigatito · 06/02/2024 17:48

FFS woman, don't you have a life to lead? Why are you all worked up about a bunch of people you don't know?

Janetime · 06/02/2024 17:48

RosesAndHellebores · 06/02/2024 17:47

Harry's making it all about him. William's letting it be about his father and his wife.

Exactly, it’s not about bloody Harry, it’s about Charles. And it’s very clear William is supporting his father very closely. Clueless why the ops all irate.

Kangarude · 06/02/2024 17:49

Who’s to say William didn’t see Charles in hospital? How do you know he hasn’t spent every day with his father? What a weird thing to rant about

Maybe she thinks Charles is about to die or something?

Redglitter · 06/02/2024 17:54

He probably didn't have to 'rush to his father's bedside' because for one thing he's not lying in his bed at deaths door.

Also, William is very close to his Dad. He'll have been aware of what was going on as it happened over the past few days

And how do you know William hasn't been to see him. Just because it's not been all over the news goes for nothing. Just as when he visited Catherine in hospital, unseen, his priority is his family, not making it about him

There's been more on the news about Harry coming over because it's such an unusual occurrence. William seeing his Dad isn't

ClematisRock · 06/02/2024 17:55

Are you a RF harpy?

Leave them be. The family's health woes are not your concern. As to H&M ... leave them be.

Or did you get fanny gallops when that Burrell man pitched up on telly?

MrsLeonFarrell · 06/02/2024 17:57

People, even royals, can live their lives without being photographed and written about. William's engagements have been announced for this week and there'll be photos for you to dissect.I'm not sure what you hope to achieve with this thread.

Royal or not how about giving people dealing with health problems and complicated lives some space and grace?

RosesAndHellebores · 06/02/2024 17:47

Harry's making it all about him. William's letting it be about his father and his wife.

I don't think that's fair. He arrived in London and didn't make a scene. He's visited his father. He's not made anything "all about him".

I'm not a big fan of H's. But he's just found out his DF has cancer. He's flown over to see him. I'd think an awful lot less of him if he hadn't come to the UK.

Equally, I don't think W has anything to answer for. He's been supporting his wife while she recovers, well aware that there are many people prepared to criticise him whatever he does. He's back at public work tomorrow.

It's such a shame that both brothers, as well as their father and Kate too, are damned if they do, damned if they don't. Even Megan hasn't escaped snide comments suggesting she (and H) contributed towards Charles and Kate's health worries.

For all their privilege, I wouldn't swap places for the world.

SidekickSylvia · 06/02/2024 17:58

William sees his father every day, but he doesn't ask Omid Scobie to announce his every move. Perhaps he doesn't need or want the same level of attention as Harry.

I agree, Harry isn't centring himself as far as I can see.

BlindurErBóklausMaður · 06/02/2024 17:59

Well, as others have said, he's at home, with his family and then tomorrow he's returning to public duties. (it's been on every news broadcast on the radio - so every half an hour- since this morning )

I think we can presume that he didn't just find out about his father's cancer when we all did on the news btw.

Was he supposed to contact you about his whereabouts?

So weird.

crumpet · 06/02/2024 18:00

William’s probably just cracking on with stuff OP, what with work, a recovering wife, an ill father and three children. What else would you expect him to be doing?

Roussette · 06/02/2024 18:05

Harry's making it all about him

How?
He has flown over to see his father who has been diagnosed with cancer. That's it.

Posters on here are making it all about him, that much is true.

Please enlighten me. In what way at all would Charles and William meeting be “significant to the nation”? What on earth do they, or any of their relatives do, that makes any noticeable difference to this country?

The level of sycophancy is off the scale.

I agree (and I loathe the guy.) The media is the one making it about Harry.

Gazelda · 06/02/2024 18:17

TallerSally · 06/02/2024 18:05

Case in point, the current landing page of the Telegraph.

Meeting with Prince.... Harry? One would have thought a meeting with Prince William more significant to the nation, no?

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/royal-family/2024/02/06/king-charles-iii-cancer-diagnosis-live-harry-return-uk/

What's your agenda @TallerSally?

You seem to be determined to stir up a hate thread against William. Why is that?

If you're suggesting that he's not being a supportive and loving son to Charles, how do you know that?

If you're suggesting that he's shirking while the nation needs to see him, why is that? Hasn't it been explained why he's temporarily stepped back from public duties? Hasn't it been clarified that he'll be back in face to face duties from tomorrow?

Personally, I'd love to think that he's been an attentive husband a father for the past few weeks, while also doing whatever background work is required as his role. He's apparently closer to his father than ever before. I hope he's currently taking tentative steps towards catching up with Harry, for the sake of their father.
