Meghan, Duchess of Sussex spotted out and about, part 3

Part 3 of a nice, unproblematic thread to discuss some of the fab outfits from the Duchess of Sussex, and some of the many great causes she (and Harry) and Archewell supports. h/t @queentim for the original threads.

I really liked this outfit and the way the skirt flowed as she walked - really good choice and quite pared back compared to some other people on the red carpet.

The purpose of this thread is the styles and looks of Meghan. It is very odd that you have come to this thread to discuss your dislike
of her and her husband. There are countless threads to allow you to do that. I did not report you but I responded to your deleted post. You did not post a different opinion. You attacked another poster. You don’t get to rewrite what happened to fit into this narrative you have.

My post above was merely responding to the post about online safety.
It is quite possible to have a different opinion without ‘derailing the thread’.
If you find courteous disagreement obnoxious may I suggest Mumsnet is not the forum for you.

skullbabe · 17/02/2024 18:18

You wrote a post attacking another poster. That was deleted. You then commented on internet safety by implying that the reason your previous post had been deleted and that people would attempt to ban you was because of a difference of opinion. I told you that is not why your post was deleted.

Once again you do not get to rewrite a sequence of events to align with your own narrative. Your posts about your concerns about fans have remained in place.

I was not ‘attacking’ anybody; merely asking why a certain poster is constantly starting threads about and acting as an attack dog for M and H. She is perfectly entitled to do this but it is …. odd.

Hopefully you can learn to accept different views and debate courteously.

If you demand an echo chamber I would respectfully point out that Mumsnet is not the place for you.

It is disappointing when M and H fans resort to these kind of aggressive tactics.

skullbabe · 17/02/2024 19:52

Your premise is incorrect. I’ve sampled the threads on the first page of this board. That poster has not started a thread in a long time. She is entitled to her position - it is notable because it is one of the few consistent non anti H&M voices on the board. There are many prolific anti H&M posters here who frequently name change - I notice they don’t attract your attention. This board is not an echo chamber - however we consistently try to (not always susccessfully) respect spaces. There is a current thread that you will find none the relatively positive about H&M posters - because we for the most part are reasonable people and understand that sometimes not everyone wants everything to be a fight. It appears that you are the one who struggles with this concept. I also find it fascinating that you describe my conversation with you as aggressive and demanding. I have been respectful, direct and factual. I have not demanded anything of you. Interesting.

Are you referring to me? I have started three threads in the last year..
Please do tell me that you don't mean me, and I will apologise profusely.

Threads....One on Style and Beauty, and two in the last year on MNG court cases. Before that... nothing.... oh, except asking for dip recipes about 3-4 years ago!

(Feel free to look... got some fabbo dips to try out!)

So just jog on with your veiled attacks! They do you no favours and are actually incorrect 'constantly starting threads' lololol

We are all entitled to our position. Including @GreekDogRescue (not sure what was the issue though).

Now, you are digressing from the main theme of this thread, shall we report your post too? 😀

A PA on me, that's the issue. No entitlement on a position there.

skullbabe · 17/02/2024 21:18

Sure. You’re not entitled to attack other poster though

Now, you are digressing from the main theme of this thread, shall we report your post too?

You are more than welcome to report my post/posts - you will recall I said I did not report any posts. I am absolutely derailing from the topic of the thread to defend another poster against a personal attack and will continue to do so whenever I come across something like this.

Who knows - it might get the outcome you seem to be looking for.

Awwwww… looks like the coat count ended up reaching only five in the end.

What a disappointment! Must’ve been a quiet night for the Coat Police…

I do hope that when the real Invictus event happens next February, Meghan wears 25 different coats - the more the merrier!

This is getting tired now - can we leave it?

Ha-ha, lovin’ it!

where d’ya get that? Please can you share the link? … it’d make a perfect logo for the Invictus 2025 Coat Police! (maybe without the last one, as they snuck in a dress)

And by the way I’d love to see outfits 3 and 6 - not sure anyone’s posted them yet…

… and the lovely green dress (the truly lovely one, of course…)!

Daisyislazy · 18/02/2024 07:58

Anyway, back to the outfits, that green dress is lovely

There is a similar colour t shirt in Matalan, I might buy it now....

skullbabe · 18/02/2024 08:24

Found a great forward facing shot of the dress - still not full length though

My favourite outfit was number 4

Maireas · 18/02/2024 08:29

Is that dress a version of the beige one she wore recently on some red carpet event? (sorry I can't remember what it was)

Sageyboots · 18/02/2024 08:29

the red coat in number 3 looks like the one she wore on their New York visit a year or two ago

Wow, the outfit looks stunning. No question, Meghan’s both stylish and a beauty, and becoming even more so as she ages.

Her and Harry are holding gifts for Archie and Lili, from the indigenous nations who are co-hosting Invictus 2025. Apparently several nations also came together for the first time to create a joint work of art - though I haven’t seen that…

“The event marked the end of the visit to British Columbia for Meghan, 42, and Prince Harry, 39, and included a host of memorable moments, including a gift of blankets woven by the Salish people for each of the couple's children, Prince Archie, 4, and Princess Lilibet, 2, from Johnna Sparrow, an Indigenous advisor for the Games and sister of Chief Wayne Sparrow of the Musqueam Indian Band.”

@TallerSally

Hopefully I’ve got this right. (For those who don’t use tik tok, touch ‘more’ down the bottom of the page, and there is an explanation about the creation of the design.)

The Loro Piano one she wore with matching wide cut trousers?

It was the Variety Power of Women event. No - it is a different dress but I understand why you would think they were variations of the same dress. Meghan seems to love an off shoulder style - so many of her dresses fit that spec.
