Meghan, Duchess of Sussex spotted out and about, part 3

Part 3 of a nice, unproblematic thread to discuss some of the fab outfits from the Duchess of Sussex, and some of the many great causes she (and Harry) and Archewell supports. h/t @queentim for the original threads.

I really liked this outfit and the way the skirt flowed as she walked - really good choice and quite pared back compared to some other people on the red carpet.

I will say H&M have been consistent in their message about online safety.

Indeed @Roussette , they are consistent, and very well placed to attempt to spur action on this issue. Not only are they possibly the two most targeted individuals on the planet for online hate (though mostly in the UK and in the Murdoch/right wing billionaire press), now even their children are gradually being targeted.

I can totally understand M&H fearing like hell for Archie and Lilibet's mental health (and their physical safety) as they grow up given the unhinged hatred raging around the entire family, at least in some quarters.

One sometimes wonders what all those spewing online hatred against this family, including on here, would do if they came face to face with them...

That’s good to read . Hopefully they will use their platform to condemn the rapes and other abuses in Africa.

Roussette · 01/02/2024 15:32

Okaaay..... good to read BUT.

Got it.

... along with Buckingham Palace issuing a statement of support for the victims of child rape and abuse of Jeffrey Epstein and his friends (let's not forget that Epstein was invited to Buckingham Palace, as were other paedos including Saville), and of Buckingham Palace former butler and convicted paedophile Paul Kidd...

But let's try to remember the topic of this thread, shall we?

Or more likely her posts were laughed at and ignored, because I wouldn't know anyone, save you, who would actually question why it rains in "the Caribbean".

People can say they have lived or worked, or experienced anything, anywhere. Wouldn't believe everything you read on the internet

What the heck? I can assure you that several of my friends have been surprised by getting rain in the Caribbean when on holiday . Many people think "hot' = sunny whereas some people know "hot" = rain and not just any old kind of rain. It's special Caribbean rain. It's like the people who go to eg parts of Thailand and then are surprised it rains.

Beautiful photo of Meghan.

Roussette · 14/02/2024 09:55

Good to hear @skullbabe

I will say, she has a very mellifluous and soothing voice. She should do more podcasts.

I'm a sucker for a good voice. I listen to podcasts by Erik Braa, his Lofoten Night Train podcast is sublime, perfect if you can't sleep!

I wonder if it's something Meghan might branch out into more.. calm and sleep podcasts

skullbabe · 14/02/2024 10:00

I think that her voice is indeed calming - meditation and sleep sound great to me.

I agree that she has a nice voice .
It’s what she says that bothers me !

I looked up that media brand yesterday and it seems as if it might be right up Meghan's street so good luck to her. Hopefully she will be able to embrace the positivity of it.

mrsmingleton · 14/02/2024 12:32

Also yesterday I watched an analysis of the interview given by H and M and W and K about their joint venture in the UK many moons ago. It was not something that I can recall seeing at the time but watching it now is eye opening. M and H snickering through it and again Meghan with her I,I,I all the time. Hopefully she won't go into her new role with this attitude.

Roussette · 14/02/2024 12:56

I'm not sure what an interview from over 6 years ago has to do with Meghan out and about currently. And given that whoever this guy is, he calls them the Harkles, why have you linked this, apart from trying to get any thread dripping with negativity about them.

FWIW she got a lot of positive feedback about that interview, she came across eloquent and interesting.

Of course you won't like it, I understand that.
Here's a positive comment on it to counteract your old footage with some unknown guy cherry picking that interview and calling them pathetic names.

🙄 @Roussette - one article that MM comes across well on one TV interview - something she's been doing for years and is trained in, albeit she's not been a huge success in acting and certainly not Hollywood standards, however she certainly hasn't presented herself well across the last 4 years since Mexit - seemingly very jeslous and plain nasty springs to mind when it comes to the RF

Roussette · 14/02/2024 13:20

Yes, I know exactly what you think Floof. You have said so a lot on the thread about their website. No one has said she is 'Hollywood' on here, totally irrelevant to the thread Hmm
I was just curious as to why we have to go into the same stuff on this thread with links to a youtube video about a 6 year old interview by someone with some sort of agenda. This thread is about Meghan out and about currently.
That's all.

FloofCloud · 14/02/2024 13:24

Don't be aggressive at me
Please @Roussette

Roussette · 14/02/2024 13:34

I apologise if you found that aggresssive. I tried to just be factual and can't see aggressivenesss at all. However, it is how you feel and it is your prerogative to report my post if you feel it breaks TG. I'm quite happy with that. 👍

I am only asking why this thread cannot be just a thread about Meghan out and about like the thread title says, and not rehashing 6 year old interviews by a youtuber who calls them The Harkles. That's all.

TallerSally · 14/02/2024 13:49

All Meghan-haters, can you please just get over yourselves????

Firstly, this is a POSITIVE thread to celebrate the great causes M&H champion and their fashion sense, it’s not a whingeboard therapy session for those needing their hourly fix of negativity.

Then, like it or not, H&M’s new website is pretty impressive.

I find that it does a great job at communicating clearly that they are about precisely that, a specific set of philanthropy causes relating to women and girls, veterans, and mental health and wellbeing.

I’m also delighted that their bios celebrate the fact that PLENTY of people recognise their achievements, have given them numerous awards, and are keen to work with them, no matter how much MN posters bash them 24-7 (gee what a surprise). In fact, they could have gone further by mentioning that Spare became Amazon’s bestselling book of 2023 (yep!) or that Suits is now Netflix’s most streamed series EVER, no small thanks to Meghan…

And I just laugh at the sour-grapes who say they’re showing off: I should hope so, as they’re beautiful, intelligent, successful, young, healthy, (relatively) rich and famous, and have two no doubt lovely kids and a nice house, why the hell wouldn’t they celebrate?? If they didn’t people would bash them about not achieving anything - for some people it’s damned if they do, damned if they don’t!

And I just love how their new website doesn’t mention the British royal family even once or the fact that Harry’s 5th in line to the throne there - what a great way to stick it to those who keep banging on about how H&M are trading on the RF!

As to the nonsense about their titles, that’s exactly what it is, utter tosh! I have a PhD (admittedly not a royal title) and I use it exactly as I please, I will stand for no-one directing me when or whether to use it - duh.

Anyway, ‘nuff said - BRAVO Harry and Meghan! Have fun at Invictus One Year to Go this week!

What do you think the new website is actually for though?

Nice to read that an interview from 6 years ago is irrelevant yet interviews from the 1990s are still talking points .
< makes note>

Roussette · 14/02/2024 14:34

I don't know what interviews from 1990s?

Is it on here? I have no idea what you mean.
