Meghan, Duchess of Sussex spotted out and about, part 3

Part 3 of a nice, unproblematic thread to discuss some of the fab outfits from the Duchess of Sussex, and some of the many great causes she (and Harry) and Archewell supports. h/t @queentim for the original threads.

I really liked this outfit and the way the skirt flowed as she walked - really good choice and quite pared back compared to some other people on the red carpet.

maybe they mean the one where the participant was tricked in to giving it.

RestingPassportFace · 14/02/2024 14:47

A positive thread should be just that.
Attempts to derail are hypocritical, given the "our right to have a laugh" adjacent thread about mocking the new website.
That's a nice photo skull. She is going to age beautifully like her Mum. Doria is 67 but looks so much younger.

Roussette · 14/02/2024 14:55

Exactly @RestingPassportFace

There are plenty of threads on MN to write huge long posts about how awful H&M are, with a captive audience lapping up every new insult and rude name.

Yes, she is very beautiful and photogenic too. I think both Meghan and her Mum are into yoga and meditation... maybe that's the answer for me! Some hope 😂

skullbabe · 14/02/2024 15:18

What do you think the new website is actually for though?

It’s actually a good landing site for all things H&M. If you scroll down past the bios you have the three entities and interests that they have which have now been separated out. Everything H&M related like press releases used to be on the Archewell page - now you have Archewell the foundation, Archewell Productions as separate and a redirect from Sussex Royal. It makes sense for them to actually have the entities being distinct and points to them planning on doing more. Again the productions page is a landing page for now - probably where the information of things like the podcasts and other media ventures will go. The foundation page is looking fine. So all in all a good idea to consolidate.

At the risk of derailing the thread myself - it’s just so exhausting watching it - no matter what she does or says - people are always determined to take it as an affront in some way.

True, and it’s pathetic, but it’s always the same people rehashing the same boring and petty grudges over and over again.

Quite easily ignored, I’d say…

skullbabe · 14/02/2024 16:45

Beautiful photo of Meghan.

Honestly - if only we all had friends like Misan Harriman - he always takes a lovely picture of her.

FloofCloud · 14/02/2024 16:53

sounds like double standards - if a fangirl starts a thread then that's 'only nice stuff' then people aren't allowed to see things from their POV ... however, if people are
Criticising then H&M fanbase berate, criticise and condescend people who don't share the same love for them 🙄

I'm not sure what an interview from over 6 years ago has to do with Meghan out and about currently. And given that whoever this guy is, he calls them the Harkles, why have you linked this, apart from trying to get any thread dripping with negativity about them.

FWIW she got a lot of positive feedback about that interview, she came across eloquent and interesting.

Of course you won't like it, I understand that.
Here's a positive comment on it to counteract your old footage with some unknown guy cherry picking that interview and calling them pathetic names.

The reason I posted it was as I said - it is interesting when you look back at these things and see them in more recent contexts and behaviours. I didn't realise I had to get your permission to post links on here 🙄

Roussette · 14/02/2024 13:34

I apologise if you found that aggresssive. I tried to just be factual and can't see aggressivenesss at all. However, it is how you feel and it is your prerogative to report my post if you feel it breaks TG. I'm quite happy with that. 👍

I am only asking why this thread cannot be just a thread about Meghan out and about like the thread title says, and not rehashing 6 year old interviews by a youtuber who calls them The Harkles. That's all.

It is your prerogative to report my post if you feel it breaks TG or you don't see the relevance . I'm quite happy with that. 👍

Mylovelygreendress · 14/02/2024 19:06

@mrsmingleton now you should know by now that any reference to OW, the wedding etc was YEARS ago therefore not relevant however “ tampon gate “ ( ie a private conversation) or Charles’s interview with Dimbleby or Sarah’s interview are all very relevant .

You can say that again 😂

mrsmingleton · 14/02/2024 19:08

Of course you are right @Mylovelygreendress !

skullbabe · 14/02/2024 19:26

Found the dress!

This is the year I’m going to get myself back into shape to be able to wear something like this! Fingers and toes crossed 🤣

Go for it! My weight yo-yo's. At one point not that long ago, I could've worn that but not at the moment with my bulges!. Love that dress.

pilates · 14/02/2024 19:36

Lovely photo of Meghan. Much prefer her hair loose rather than the scraped back look.

Maireas · 14/02/2024 19:36

Can you post the link again, it's not working for me.

I agree, that's quite a severe look - although my daughter does hers like that if she doesn't want to straighten it (they have the same type of hair).

Mylovelygreendress · 14/02/2024 19:49

I do like that dress but my arms aren’t quite what they used to be .

Maireas · 14/02/2024 19:51

I can see the link now. I think it's great if you have nice shoulders. I'd find a high neck a bit irritating, though. It's a good look, though.

LilyMumsnet · 14/02/2024 19:58

Hi folks

Please can we be careful not to derail the thread? Goading other posters isn't in the spirit of civil discussion. We'll be making some deletions now and would ask you to bear this in mind when posting.

Meghan does look lovely.

The scenery behind them in that 3rd shot looks pretty amazing too.
