If I knew nothing at all about the PoWess, I'd take her side

I sincerely hope you never get called for jury duty during your lifetime.

RocketsMagnificent7 · 01/02/2024 17:45

Good grief, I can't remember posts from this morning, let alone two days ago... then find a Gif for it!

Except that poster didn't just randomly post a gif relating to a post made two days ago. They posted following a post a few hours previously which referenced the post from two days ago.

Roussette · 01/02/2024 17:55

Thank you so much, it has been explained to me more than once with a kind poster asking if I was OK. I imagined it was referencing two days ago as the poster said it was!

Anyone else like to comment on me missing the post above the gif?

Idontpostmuch · 01/02/2024 17:56

@Christmasnutcracker Yes, it's scary when you think that anyone can be called for jury duty. I've been called three times, but got out of it the second time because it was within 5 yrs of having done it. The third time, the accused pleaded guilty halfway through, so we didn't finish. However, the first time, one of my fellow jury members started muttering as soon as the accused was seen, 'you can tell by looking at him that he's guilty.' That was before we'd heard anything about the evidence or the alleged crime.

Idontpostmuch · 01/02/2024 18:05

It was the press that got it wrong, claiming that Meghan had made Kate cry. In fact it was Kate who had made Meghan cry, according to Meghan in the Netflix documentary. Meghan also said Kate had apologised and given her flowers. When pre wedding stresses run high, such tiffs are not uncommon in families, and that's when the ceremony isn't broadcast around the world. We don't know if M over reacted or if Kate was in fact out of order, but they sorted it out. It was then blown up out of all proportion. The question we should be asking is: how did the press hear about it?

Username makes sense. 😬

As usual, the first post has it!

MaturingCheeseball · 01/02/2024 18:50

@Christmasnutcracker - I’d say anyone blindly pro anyone is unfit for jury duty - why do the H&M fans absolutely refuse to acknowledge any mistakes by the pair? (Yeah, yeah, apart from going on Oprah which is not a criticism of them but because of the “whinger” backlash, so in my book not a true criticism.)

Not sure any reports said Kate apologised. Just that she sent flowers. Which could have been a nice gesture from someone who recognised that a bride to be was a bit overwrought and upsetting people without meaning to, and despite Kate being one of the people who had been upset she was showing a bit of understanding and making allowances. Who knows? Everyone has their own version of events.

There's a viciousness in some posts which would get them deleted if they were about Meghan

Completely disagree. I have seen far far far worse written about Meghan that stays up. I actually can't believe someone would say that!

Sorry Roussette, I really don’t like disagreeing with you (genuinely) but I don’t agree with you on this one. I’ve been horrified at some of the vile and sickening posts allowed to stand on these threads about Catherine. It’s been on another level and much worse than I have ever read before. Especially considering that these threads have been about someone who is obviously seriously ill, or at least has been. Although, it’s not a competition and there are also some pretty horrible posts that remain about Meghan. I agree on that 😊 I’ll go back to my (Chanel) pearl clutching!

Roussette · 01/02/2024 20:16

@MummyJ12 We can agree to differ! Yes, there were posts on a thread since Kate has been poorly that were awful. I kept away from the thread because parts of it were just dreadful.

I am talking about incessant and relentless over years about Meghan. I've read stuff in the past that had me totally shocked.

I'm sure we're coming from the same place 😊
Neither of these women, who are mothers of children should be subjected to some of the stuff I've read on this parenting forum.

(Excuse edits... repeating the same words in a sentence!)

MummyJ12 · 01/02/2024 20:20

Now all of that I totally agree with you on @Roussette 😊.

Exactly. We don’t know who made who cry except what one party has said and the other has never said anything.

Could have been the following

  1. Catherine really caring : really concerned that Lotty’s dress is massive and concerned about protocol of her wearing tights - can she wear tights please Meg? How can we help? Meg bursts into tears and sobs why are you so against me etc?

or
2) Catherine yelling : For fuck’s sake Megan what a shit show. We have to be in front - curtesy to me now!! Etc

or
3) anything else …..

we don’t know and we will never know!

Belinda5 · 01/02/2024 20:41

"Catherine yelling : For fuck’s sake Megan what a shit show. We have to be in front - curtesy to me now!! Etc"

Seriously?

couiza · 01/02/2024 20:46

Has she been discharged from hospital yet?

I'm thinking that when she makes her first public appearance, if she thought she was scrutinised from head to toe up to now, it will be nothing like what she faces then.

BrittleVeneers · 01/02/2024 20:56

The question we should be asking is: how did the press hear about it?

Imo too, this is the question. Who leaked it?

And why did whoever leak it cast Meghan as the perpetrator. I can say with ease that Meghan and Harry didn’t leak it a negative story about themselves.

It came from elsewhere. Where?

Serenster · 01/02/2024 21:14

The story didn’t come out until November 2018, several months after the Sussexes’ wedding, and was first reported by Camilla Tominey. Given by that stage there had already been departures of staff members, allegedly due to being bullied, it’s quite possible the story came from them. Though obviously we can only speculate.

Samcro · 01/02/2024 21:16

Was Kate in hospital because of the crying

She came out of hospital on Monday

That’s one speculation.

Camilla Tominey has a long long history of writing highly critical articles about Meghan and Harry. I speculate she’s not an unbiased journalist when it comes to M&H.

Which means she is most likely privy to a lot of insider knowledge!

You are being very literal. I am talking about the vast influence and behind-the-scenes unelected power that media organisations run by Murdoch and Rothermere wield in the uk. It’s got to the point that it’s anti-democratic. Even prime ministers are afraid to stand up to them. They are driving the political narrative, not simply reporting on it.

So, your proof that it was Meghan at fault relies on believing in a tweet that doesn’t exist? But if it did exist it would only be another second hand account - ‘a friend of’

Serenster · 02/02/2024 07:20

BrittleVeneers · 02/02/2024 01:45

No, it doesn’t.

She was right on the money with her sources when she broke the news that Harry was dating Meghan Markle though, wasn’t she?
