Twitter is what you make it
What on earth are you reading ?

SheriffofRottingham · 01/03/2024 15:59

Well we already know what you’ve made it and what you’re reading as per the nickname you shared

AliceOlive · 01/03/2024 15:59

Serenster · 01/03/2024 15:54

Well, considering that a certain sector of twitter are currently posting that William murdered Thomas Kingston…. I’m surprised to you have to ask.

I think that kind of thing is a draw for some people.

Novella4 · 01/03/2024 16:00

you think calling William idle is the same as thinking he killed someone ??

Unclench

AliceOlive · 01/03/2024 16:01

What does "unclench" even mean?

How sickening. Anyone who thinks these people are funny should be ashamed of themselves, truly.

thats awful

It feeds a specific wolf.

AliceOlive · 01/03/2024 16:03

The Wolf You Feed
One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people. He said, "My son, the battle is between two "wolves" inside us all.

One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.

The other is good. It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith."

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: "Which wolf wins?"
The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed."

Unclench

i haven’t said that.

But what I will say is this, he’s experienced a traumatic family bereavement, the effects of which are devastating and wide reaching. He also has an unwell father and wife, and yet he continues to be a target of ‘idle’ jokes. Perhaps a little compassion and perspective wouldn’t go a miss. Clenched or unclenched - whatever that even means.

Synagogue visit yesterday. A number of events in Wrexham today. That must hurt the twitter people. Very nice to have a go at a woman's work ethic while she's recovering from major surgery.

It has nothing to do with surgery. She has no ‘work ethic’ sick or well — none of them do, so it would be very surprising if, having married in, she did.

If anyone looked at an actual ‘working week’ of one of the supposedly hardest-working royals like Princess Anne, and compared it to the working week of their average subject, it would blow that idea out of the water.

I should know better than to dignify this nonsense with a reply, but their public appearances are not the sum total of what they do. Work goes on beyond the view of the public.

Yes no one seems to grasp that.

Novella4 · 01/03/2024 16:11

I’m afraid William ( and Kate) have been criticised for decades for their poor work ethic
Even their own ( puffed up) numbers prove it

It’s not new and it is perfectly legitimate criticism- more so now actually with the state of the country .

He takes millions from a county that’s falling apart .

Judgement rendered.

‘Kate’s feelings do not remotely seem to matter, despite the fact Kensington Palace indicated from the start that she’d be “unlikely to return to public duties till after Easter”. Almost a full month out from that date, some are already veering in the direction of the weirdness that broke out after the death of Princess Diana. Specifically the unreal part when the late Queen was somewhat bullied back from Balmoral – where she was engaged in the rather more real business of comforting her bereaved grandsons – to comfort the nation. “SHOW US YOU CARE” demanded a typical headline (in that case from the Daily Express), somehow lacking the imagination to grasp that children who have lost their mother are rather more important than grownups who didn’t even know Diana and not two weeks before were lapping up every obviously intrusive paparazzi shot of her. I always love the historian Ben Pimlott’s line on the madness: “A private crisis had become a public one, even though nobody knew what it was about.”’

AliceOlive · 01/03/2024 16:16

@SheriffofRottingham I am sure it is absolutely killing the people who kept saying no one would ever miss her. Or perhaps they are the very people demanding she appear now.

SheriffofRottingham · 01/03/2024 16:17

‘He takes millions from a county that’s falling apart .’

Oh come on, let Rishi, Boris, Covid, Russia, Climate Change, Trump, Brexit etc. take some of the credit, William isn’t that powerful after all. Unlike Medieval-King-Energy-Harry 😉

Anne has a farm to run as well. She’s in her 70s. What more do you want.

I am still waiting for you to give us the definition of "unclench" but thought I would try it out after you used it. Why is it in quotes this time?
