We have no idea what was said in those conversations and who they were between. We have no idea what the "comments" were or what the "concerns" were, in particular the latter. All we have is Oprah Winfrey gasping dramatically, and Meghan Markle inviting her to believe there was racist intent in conversations she was not a party to happening in tandem with her assertion that the RF were denying Archie a title and security - claims that are lies. All we know is that Prince Harry - who had at least one of the conversations - does not characterise it as a racist one. All we know is that letters have been exchanged (thanks to the Sussex camp leaking this to their preferred newspaper choice, the Telegraph). We do not know what the contents of those letters are in their exact form, only an interpretation third hand by Omid Scobie.
I am a woman of colour, who grew up being treated in all sorts of ways that would give MM (who had never been treated like a black woman by her own account until entering the RF) a fucking heart attack. I really despise the casual and cavalier accusations of racism she has thrown at people she knows will not be answering back. I despise her husband, a proven racist who claims the right to lecture the world on his "enlightenment" to critical race theories; theories that are meaningless and decisive outside of academic circles and on the make diversity trainers (many of whom are white, and quite frankly sound pretty racist themselves).
I can't count the number of people of colour who have stated categorically that discussions of a babies colouring, be it hair, eyes or skin, is completely normal. The same goes for mixed race couples. I'm several shades darker than MM, my DH has the same colouring as Harry. We talked about it with great curiosity and excitement on both sides of our families.
Harry, in his Stephen Colbert interview, said the only negative thing I have heard from any member of the RF about his children's colouring. He said he was worried his ginger genes would not be able to "stand up" to Meghan's genes. That sounds like a micro aggression to me - that's what CRT would call it, isn't it? Implying that her genes are aggressive and dominating. He then expressed relief that his genes prevailed. Why would that give him relief? Wouldn't he want his children to take after his beautiful wife?
Actually, I tell a lie, there was a further incident of members of the RF talking about the Sussex children's colouring. That would be Harry and Meghan in their documentary. A single throw away comment about Archie taking after Meghan, then an adulatory discussion about Lili looking like Diana, with her "blue, blue, blue eyes". Again, no celebratory discussion of Meghan's heritage, or joy that very much alive and hands on Granny Doria can see her pretty features in her grandson or grand daughter. Another incident that I - as a person of colour - might categorise as a micro aggression.
As for Catherine, Charles, Camilla or any other member of the RF. Nobody knows, because it has never been spoken of first hand in any substantial way that can lead anyone to make an informed opinion. All we have is gossip and innuendo.
