That has to be a piss take, he’s making his money being a tell tale. Its also quite insulting to them.

Sorry, but that's hilarious. Like, really funny. Operative word being 'could,' here.

Don’t let him near the Button !!!!

Having skimmed it, I thought 'piss take' after the first couple of paragraphs.

Don't let him near the coffee machine.

Honest to god, I couldn't tell if it was tongue in cheek or serious. This is a D list actress and a thicko who couldn't pass A'Level art without assistance, who think they are future leaders and qualified to speak on all manner of pretty serious stuff - not least being part of the creeping censorship culture engulfing us with their work with the Aspen Institute. And one of them thinks they have it in them to be president. Neither has the humility to admit that they are not qualified for a public role with far reaching consequences. Nothing would surprise me from these two.

My understanding is that Harry wants Ravec to approve their security because that would make them Internationally Protected Persons (IPPs), which would obligate governments wherever they happened to live or travel to provide free security to them at taxpayers' expense. I'm in the US, and what's being put out here is that he wants IPP status so that the Secret Service will be obligated to protect him. To which I, as an American taxpayer wholeheartedly say, "No, hell no!"

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 05/12/2023 16:32

I'm imagining PH in an interview

"And what you say is your biggest weakness?"

"Consistent and massive overestimation of my abilities, intelligence and importance. Oh, you only wanted one."

notimagain · 05/12/2023 16:34

Looking at the background of the author of the Forbes piece I'm not sure he's overly clued up on UK defence, let alone got a clue about Harry's career in the army......

As for " Captain Harry could, in time, consider a controversial-but-exciting race to serve as a Member of the House of Commons.".............

MrsDanversGlidesAgain · 05/12/2023 16:38

Not sure he's got too secure a grasp of military titles, either....reminds me of the way some American fans of Downton Abbey would refer to 'Earl Robert' as if he'd just stepped out of the Domesday Book.

WaggyEars · 05/12/2023 16:39

Harry, his shrooms and The Button may not be the best combination 😁.

They both really do have gigantonormous egos. I wish Meghan would start up some fashion line for preppy urban American kids and Harry would be a stay at home dad.

PP mentioned that Meghan might not have known about the hierarchy but she went to a catholic school run by nuns, she would definitely have known that rules are rules and to know her place in such a school, especially as a mixed race girl during a time when relationships between black and white Americans was much less accepted. Her old school lists MM as an alumna and her job as actress, activist

https://www.immaculateheart.org/

The nuns would have been very strict and possibly downright cruel, many would have ruled with fear and intimidation. There is no way Meghan didn't know that there the RF has protocols.

The other thing is the total silliness of her saying she was the 'clever one not the pretty one' about the Katie Keen cartoons. People say Meghan is beautiful (I don't thinks so, she is ordinary) so of course if she says she saw herself as the 'clever one', she must be so very clever seeing how everyone says she is pretty. It's just 6th grader bitchiness. She is neither particularly beautiful and certainly not that intelligent. She may however be shrewd. She got her first TV role with a programme her dad worked on as a techie and according to wiki, for her role in Century City, she told the casting directors that she was a sag-aftra member when she was not, but after being cast, the employers were obliged to help her join the union according to the Taft–Hartley Act. So she lied to get a role.

Surely no-one in their right mind would give H. access to any sensitive security information? I should think the UK security services will have been very clear about that in their briefings to KC, and the US security services will be well aware.

NuttyYouSayHmmmmmn · 05/12/2023 16:47

That would make lovely content for Omid’s 3rd tome: Wargame.

WaggyEars · 05/12/2023 16:50

I'm quite sure Kate is getting lots of love and good vibes from the people she has royal engagements with at the moment, that's what matters and that's what's real, not some silly game playing bullies in Montecito and on the internet.

Also, he seemed to have no idea that when you leave the British Army, you're no longer entitled to wear the uniform.

I don't believe that's true.

IPP status is for high ranking diplomats, state officials and their families. That does not apply to Harry. In fact, I'm not sure he ever held that status.

shockthemonkey · 05/12/2023 16:52

It’s a very good stealth boast, @WaggyEars : « See how pretty I am? Well I’m even cleverer than I am pretty ».

For me Meghan has shown herself many times to be not very clever at all. She also hugely underestimates the intelligence of those around her (and of the public at large).

That said, she is, to my eyes, very beautiful (as is her mother).

He never held it, but wants to apply for it. I read that when this whole case first came to court.

The Royal family hopefully learned the lessons of Edward and Wallis where Edward continued to receive security briefings during the early days of WWII which they passed on to their Nazi pals. It's why Edward was shipped off to be Governor of the Bahamas in 1940

I think Kate sussed Meghan out right from the very start, or at least within a few weeks of meeting.

In a nutshell.
