This is the very definition of how successful grey rock can be with a narcissist. They just can’t help getting more and more outlandish an obvious in trying to get a response from you. The books makes Scobie and anyone who associates with him sound like childish bullies.

It would seem that Scobie is going out of his way to get positive reaction to his book 😆

A few months ago, on a thread about H&M, someone quoted this person about Kate. It was one of the most offensive things I've read on here, accusing Kate of racism in the crudest way. It had to be deleted. Just vile.

I seem to recall from that walkabout that Meghan had had to borrow a dress and shoes from someone as she didn't have a black dress with her at the time. Can anyone else recall this? I remember it being discussed on here and it being given as a reason why she was uncomfortable that day.

As someone said above, Meghan had not anticipated the dislike that many people would end up having for her . Perhaps it is par for the course in Hollywood to insinuate and suggest and give out "false news" - after all what are we talking about? Movies? TV shows? Romances? She looked shit scared that day and TBH the British public gave her a better reception that she deserved. Remember there was that one woman who put her head down and ignored her when she went to shake hands?

I would imagine that any clothes/shoe retailer would supply Meghan pdq for such an occasion.

@smilesy That is interesting. So he was looking to create a targeted campaign against the RF by using influencers to start trends. Quite the level of control for someone who is essentially a nobody. Which editor signed off on that deal??

i think that generally speaking, the public knew that the walkabout was absolutely NOT the time to focus on ill feelings, especially in front of grieving grandchildren. If she’d attended the coronation, I suspect there would have been some audible boos.

I want to be gracious to the pair and hope that they’ve moved on, and take the assumption that they confided tooo much in OS last year, but clearly the discussions about the coronation and the fact that KC told the family to keep Schtum after the book was published shows there has been some input this year, even if indirectly.

Meghan was only supposed to be in the UK briefly so I think she didn't imagine she would need to interact with the great unwashed British public. She must have been or should have been nervous but the reception she got on that walkbout was fine. H wouldn't have been nervous as he just assumes his popularity in this country.

She didn’t get a great reception at the walk about. I was there are there were people booing and shouting stuff at her. When I saw the news coverage later none of that was shown. Very different from the amazing reception she got from the crowds in the same place when she got married

For years Scobie acted like H and Ms PR team and he certainly had a direct line to them. It sounds like they are still in frequent contact. H and M clearly used him in the past as a way to get their side or their spin or to clarify or add their details out there. I wouldn’t really believe any comment they would make about distancing themselves. Is sure that 99% of what’s in his book came from them.

What century does Scobie think he is in ?

Kate denigrated for working part time, like being a mom to 3 kids isn't anything worthwhile, Camilla denigrated for having a sex life.

He sounds like an old grandfather, my own father was more enlightened than that at age 85. Scobie is the ultimate misognyistic prick.

From the Mail’s reporting on Endgame: M apparently named two names in her famous letter to Charles… and was advised by him to discuss the matter with Kate.

The issue is still described as ‘comments on Archie’s skin colour’, which could mean anything. The most likely being, in my opinion, a question sparked by curiousity and interest rather than criticism or concern.

I always thought Kate and Will. And yes, quite possibly just a “oh I wonder which parent he’ll take after”.

And all the discussion is around the contents on Archie's skin colour, when the comment was made to Harry only, ie not Meghan, before they were even married.

So not about Archie as such bu about their possible future offspring, and which parent they would take after.

if M didn’t say anything at the time, the RF might justifiably be surprised at its being a major plank of M’s ‘case’ years later?

For some reason, the Princess of Wales is seen as the great enemy of Meghan by the more deranged element of her fans, of whom Scobie seems to be one. I would be inclined to take any accusations against her in the book with a very large pinch of salt.

So if Kate is the racist, does Kate also influence royal title and security decisions, because MM alleged that discussions about Archie’s skin colour related to that. Also, if Kate is a racist, why would you want her assistance with your mental health issues? Why would you want to borrow her lip gloss, and why would you want to be chit chatting to her in the car? Also, Kate was supposed to be a huge fan of Suits and excited to meet MM. So surely that wouldn’t be the case if she was racist.

Agree with the suspicions that a fairly normal "wonder what your future kids will look like" discussion with Harry has been twisted by H&M. Maybe some ginger slagging in the mix - just normal family shit.

The other possibility which occured to me is that there was a more serious discussion but the context was around how the press might react. I'm thinking about the time when Harry made the big press release about the racist attacks on his girlfriend (who most people had never heard of at that point) - it doesn't seem like he coped well with that and I wonder if it was more of a "you are struggling with this already, you know it could get worse if you get married and have kids right? If you think these pricks are bad now imagine what they might be like if you have a baby - will you be able to cope with the crap that will come your way, you might always need really high security etc etc"

I think that an innocent explanation becomes more likely if the accused is W/K/both. Older generation (Philip, PMoK etc) could have believed more outright racism but given the way H&M have behaved I'm thinking mountain from molehill.

That rather suggests that the British press / media were actually protecting her. Something they constantly complain happens to W&K.
