I'm not sure what is the correct etiquette for carrying on a thread, but here we are. Thanks to @BoxedandRibboned for the original thread.

Scobie talks about a telephone conversation between H and The King after Spare was published so less than a year ago . He also says that H didn’t know if he would be invited to the Coronation and only found out at the end of March .,

True! Mind you, I can't believe a lot of the stuff Harry has willingly shared with the whole world - it's like he never thinks what it's going to be like when he has to face these people again IRL. Does he expect them all to just pretend that he never said those things and everything will just be like normal? IMO what he's done is unforgiveable and I don't blame W&K one bit for going no contact. In fact, on MN they'd be advised to with a family member that toxic!

Mymilkshakebringsallthepapstomycar · 27/11/2023 18:10

Why would he? The last William saw of Harry accepting one of his phone messages had Meghan flouncing around and hissing about it on Netflix. You'd just be assuming everything was being recorded at this stage.

Well I think that Scrotie has just made the situation even worse now. M&H look do not come out of this well. In fact I think they and their stooge are the ones who come across as horrible, not the RF members he's criticising.

I'm not one bit surprised if the King issued an edict for the family not to share anything with this rotten pair. I wouldn't be telling them anything personal either!!

I think the RF is done with them now. How can they come back from this?!

That scene was baffling. How on earth did Meghan think that would come across well? They must have had some say in the edit. To decide to leave that in as though no one would see what an unpleasant interaction that was.

Harry must have been gutted. All miked up and nowhere to go.

Vespanest · 27/11/2023 18:21

He’s gone too far with Kate that it’s causing the headlines he was probably wanting for the royal racist line. In doing so he’s also lost some middle ground readers as no one likes a bully and he has crossed that line.

Rinoachicken · 27/11/2023 18:24

How is dragging Catherine through the press any better than what happened to his own mother.

For some who has been so vocal about the negative effects of the press on both his mother’s and his wife’s MH - why then would he think that was an ok thing to do to the next PofW.

That parallels will be drawn between the previous and current PoWs treatment by the press - well I can’t imagine H&M being be et happy about that - after all, didn’t Harry claim that it was Meghan who was so like his mother?

SkyFullofStars1975 · 27/11/2023 18:24

I think they're tired of baiting Charles (who has very effectively grey rocked them) so now they're trying to provoke William by going for Kate....

JSMill · 27/11/2023 18:25

@BethDuttonsTwin that scene did not make M look good and it made H look really weak, needing his wife's help to answer his brother. I wonder what was in the text or was there ever a text l?

It was very Real Housewives or Kardashians. Manufactured drama.

It is just such banal bullshit. I really cannot believe that he was trailing any of his revelations as salacious.

The only vaguely interesting thing is watching OS have a complete meltdown on social
media because he doesn’t like the reaction to the book.

This is what happens when narcissists meet reality. I do hope this is the last attempt to tell ‘their truth’ via different mouth pieces.

Alighttouchonthetiller · 27/11/2023 18:32

Harry had a lovely relationship with his sister in law. I don't know anything about psychology, but I can imagine that if you are a person with an aggressive need to be considered absolutely marvellous and adored, you might feel threatened by that. Particularly if your sister in law is brilliant at the thing you have absolutely no aptitude for.

The whole thing just reeks of spite from someone who feels personally pissed off by Kate. Now. Who could that be?

Raincloudsonasunnyday · 27/11/2023 18:32

Harry: spoiled, hurt, arrogant, entitled (literally and metaphorically), ignorant of any kind of life outside of the royal family, adrift now that he's physically and emotionally separated from his roots and his family, not very clever, dependent on Meghan for everything given she's all he's got left

Meghan: couldn't be top dog at being in the royal family because she married the spare and maybe never even wanted it ("I can't believe I'm not getting paid for this"), took what she could and left, and given she has two children by Harry will never be able to shake off the royal family for as long as she lives

These two tried to use Omid Scobie (Omid Scobie! that alone demonstrates the limits of their capabilities) to get 'their truth' out, as court records show post-Finding Freedom. This book and its fallout are a natural consequence.

Lie with dogs, get fleas. And, marry in haste, repent at leisure. They're textbook [insert aphorism of choice].

cyclamenqueen · 27/11/2023 18:37

Honestly really hope this is the End . I really don’t think most people care about them at all . And as for Kate if she manages to raise three well adjusted children none of whom turn out to be as messed up as their uncle or grandfather then she will have done a good job.

hopeishere · 27/11/2023 18:39

Just as Meghan and Harry want public apology the should publicly condemn the comments about Kate!!

I don't think they're tired of baiting Charles. They're deferring to him, just like they spared HMQ. They know he's the final arbiter.

Thing is, a parent can never cut off their child. A sibling can. They're going to hound Charles until his dying breath to secure whatever they can, before William accedes to the throne.

All the references to HMQ as "my granny", "his grandmother", "my father in law", "my stepmother" always referring to others by their relationships to themselves rather than their status: that was deliberate. It was intended to put all members of the family on a level playing field, all equals as family members. If there's one family in the world for which that won't work, it's the British royal family. It may not be right, but it's what it is. If they wanted to only have private, family relationships they shouldn't have done Oprah/Netflix/Spare. Can't get much more public than that.

So hypocritical, so cheap and tawdry.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 27/11/2023 18:40

Scobie says the Princess of Wales earned the nickname 'Katie Keen' and claimed the late Queen liked her because she was 'coachable' unlike the 'strong-minded' Princess Diana

If true that's deeply unpleasant, and what's wrong with a willingness to be coached anyway? As a newbie to the whole toxic institution I'd have thought coaching was essential, if only to be able to survive it

Rinoachicken · 27/11/2023 18:41

They sound more and more like Edward and Wallis every day - making up nicknames for people, selling their lives to the press, out for every penny they can get by any means

tattychicken · 27/11/2023 18:47

So Katherine was coachable, but Meghan wasn't given any guidance or pointers at all, didn't know how to curtsey, didn't know the national anthem..🤔

flapjackfairy · 27/11/2023 18:47

@Puzzledandpissedoff
Well wasn't one of Meghans complaints that she wasn't given any support or direction to navigate royal life ? So why make a dig at Kate making use of advice of coaching and advice.
In fact it seems she was offered Sophie as a mentor but she rejected that offer as she thought she knew best. She might have been wise to take up said offer of coaching!

Ratsoffasinkingsauage · 27/11/2023 18:51

Exactly @tattychicken I think that story is really revealing about the difference in mindset between the two sides. It seems that the Sussex camp considers being able to learn and adapt to be a weakness.
