Omid Scobie's new book

Heads up, Omid is back on the PR trail...

https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/royals/harry-meghan-author-omid-scobie-31362434

BTW, can anyone explain why he's Harper's Royal reporter when he only seems to have access to or report on Harry and Meghan? It's a bit strange.

Harry and Meghan's biographer calls King Charles 'unpopular' in scathing jibe

Omid Scobie's new 'explosive' book Endgame will be published on November 28 - and its description on Amazon says the author investigates the current state of the British monarchy

It is equally hysterical that people try to big up the Sussexes and see every appearance as a huge triumph for them.

It's all great craic really, 😁 😁

I know. Ooh look Harry was at an event with his perma rictus grin in place as ever, he is soooo successful because he waved.

Sadly he has left a trail of destruction in his wake. Her father, his whole family. So yes yes give him a round of applause for his nice clothes and grins and ignore the fact he is a petulance, jealous, spiteful prat. Yayy Harry!

If Harry having a beer with Omid means he has had something to do with his book, then Camilla's close relationship with Clarkson and Piers means she has had a hand in all their nasty shit about Meghan too.

Oh yes! Both were at that posh lunch with her last Christmas weren't they, straight after Clarkson's disgusting tirade against MM. And he is on record saying that he has had a crafty fag with Camilla.

That's weird. Everyone who hates him goes on and on about how miserable he is looking all the time. I cannot tell you how often I have read that on here. Now he has a 'permanent rictus grin'.

Ye gods, if anyone wrote anything like you have just done, but about W&K, they would be reported and rounded on big time. But anything goes with H&M it seems.

Well done them for leaving.

Lovemychair · 17/11/2023 12:49

He's 42 ?? I thought he was much younger than that.

Janiie · 17/11/2023 12:50

'Well done them for leaving'

Absolutely. Nice to agree on something Grin. I'd have worded it a bit differently of course more like 'thank god he left'.

If only he'd have omitted all his tedious reveals and gossipy tell alls and kept a bit of dignity and class intact, but nope. He's like a tabloid reporter. Yayy well done Harry!

I have seen several comments on here about Kate’s “ rictus grin “ or William looking surly .
I don’t hate him ( never met him) but he nearly always looks miserable to me.

Roussette · 17/11/2023 12:55

Saying someone looks surly is a bit different to calling someone a petulant spiteful jealous prat! And more. I just think hurling insults at someone is so pathetic.

Roussette · 17/11/2023 12:56

Looking in the mirror now and trying to perfect a look of being totally miserable whilst holding a rictus grin permanently. It ain't easy I tell you! 😂

LadyMuckingabout · 17/11/2023 12:56

That email from Harry about Omid Scobie is total mike drop time. How can anyone possibly say the Sussexes were not involved with him?

And Scobie is an ex of Marcus Anderson, who is still Meghan’s friend.

True, it isn't easy to do both at the same time. What happens is when caught off guard H's natural miserable expression can be seen. However whilst knowingly on camera posing at an event that is when the perma rictus grins are in place you see.

the royals press secretaries are asked for their comments on articles and books all the time, like with that tattler spread on Kate they had to edit. Its normal for journalists and authors to contact the subject of their work and inform them, ask for comment etc that does not mean they are friends or he is a spokesperson anymore than authors of books written on Charles he has contributed to. That email was also about finding freedom, not this book that the thread is meant to be about.

Roussette · 17/11/2023 13:03

Haha... so it's either 'miserable' or 'permanent (your words) rictus grin'. Hmmm... a contradiction there it seems!

Hold on though, I've nearly got the look in the mirror, but it's looking like the Joker off of Batman at the moment, give me time Grin

Lovemychair · 17/11/2023 12:49

Omid? He has been caught out lying about his age in the past, so it seems tries to keep a lid on the actual number.

(Omid was profiled in the Times after the publication of Finding Freedom by journalist Andrew Billen, and his age was given as 33 - which led to criticism from readers who said in reality he was several years older. Omid claimed that it was a mistake by the Times, rather than him trying to shave some years off the real figure. This irked The Times, who went backed and checked the transcript of the interview. That showed Scobie saying "I'm 33, I just turned 33." He was in fact 39…)

If you get one of those baggy red $1000+ suits MM was wearing at the NY school event, which they made parents sign NDAs for, whilst reading a book about fatherhood to a demographic of kids from single mother families, and making them pay for the privilege, you'll have the Joker look down just perfect.

I'm just trying to help, you seemed to think it hard to do both at the same time and it is I agree.

He looks miserable when he isn't on a stage performing, then perma grinning when doing his jazz hands shtick when he's trying to be a vip at an event. All seems so very fake and tenuous.

Poor Harry.

way off, it was never really going to be about Omid's book though was it.... it was always going to turn into another thread full of insults about Harry and Meghan and rehashing of the same old things....

I don't understand. Granted I haven't read it but doesn't Scobies book include info about Harry rehashing all the same old crap? So therefore I think it is understandable Harry is being discussed.

If Scobie's book was an in depth look into flower arranging I'd get your point.

Roussette · 17/11/2023 13:20

I'm sure he appreciates your concern Janiie !

Not sure what you mean by "I'm just trying to help" !

Mymilk no idea what your post means. Sorry! But I'll take it as a compliment because I'm sure you are not trying to insult me. Grin I do like wearing red though I will admit.

so true. any excuse.

mrsmingleton · 17/11/2023 16:15

but the book is about Harry and Meghan and the RF so how can this discussion be off track?

pilates · 17/11/2023 18:39

I was referring to the comments about QC/JC/PM being off track and nothing to do with the title thread

queentim · 17/11/2023 19:52

I don't think comments about Camilla's relationships with Piers Morgan or Jeremy Clarkson are off track, seeing how there are apparently chapters about the BRF relationship with the media.

It's certainly more on track than the discussion of Harry's, erm, rictus grin, Scobies age, or the name calling, IMO.

I wonder if Omd will get into why Charles and Camilla hired a Daily Mail editor, or their relationship with those in the media (Morgan and Clarkson).
